Wow... I just realized... I only have 10 more work days before our family makes the drive up to Canton, OH to visit my parents. We'll be there for five days, then drive back. Then I only work 3 more days and we are off to Tampa/Orlando. Time is slipping right on by. Been so busy planning the Disney part of our trips that I've let the other stuff fall off the radar. Guess I should put together a touring plan for Busch Gardens Tampa for one day.
Sounds like a fun, but busy month coming up. Make sure you move that Trip Report up near the top of the priority list. :rolleyes1

I love Busch Gardens, I wish we'd have time to slip it in during our trip. I know we won't, but the coaster fanatic in me won't quit looking at it... wishful thinking I guess. It looks like they've updated the kids area and changed the 4-D Show since we were there in 2009. I've read about a new coaster called Cheetah Hunt that is supposed to open this spring. Hopefully it will be open when you get there so you can tell us about it in your trip report when you write it 2 or 3 years from now.:lmao:

We really can't take a trip this summer. I don't have enough vacation time saved up for a trip long enough to be worthwhile and we haven't had the opportunity to save teh money for the trip yet either.

So I'm not going to go and price out a summer trip.

Nope.

Not going to do it.

No way, no how.

Oh BEVERLY! Who am I kidding? I'll be back in a bit . . .

Wow. We said the exact same thing and then, last week, I turned to my wife and asked her what she thought about going to DW again this summer. Now we are looking into it.

Almost forgot to share this little nugget from this morning. DD's class has something called "Fun Friday" where you get to wear a hat and bring a stuffed animal to class. I'm gone to work in the morning before anyone else gets up, so DW called me to tell me that DD was looking through our hats, trying to find one to wear. I've got several Packer, Cubs, Admirals (hockey), and Disney baseball-style caps, but she just didn't feel like wearing that kind. DW told her she could wear any style hat she wanted, not just caps. She goes into her room and comes back out wearing this:

Still trying to decide if we are going to brave the wooden coasters. We about had to be taken home on stretchers after attempting the ones at Kings Dominion a few years ago. I would rather have been body slammed by Hulk Hogan! Sheesh!

Yeah.. I read little about Cheetah Hunt, too. THIS article indicates the official public opening date is May 27th ("When can fans get their first peek of the ride in action? Revelle estimated in three weeks.") Article written March 17th. But perhaps I can get lucky like I did in 2009 at Sea World when I got to experience the soft opening for Manta (In my 2009 TR HERE)

HAHA! I need to update my current TR....:rolleyes1

I just priced out several options for the first week of August. I have to admit, it was VERY tempting to go ahead and book. We could've had a room only ressie for a Wilderness Lodge 1-bedroom Villa for five nights for less than $1,400. We'd still have to pay for tickets, food, and transportation. Tickets are probably another $1000. We can save some money on food by making use of the kitchen in the Villa, but it would still be $700 or so. The killer is still the transportation. Flights on SWA (just about always our cheapest option) are over $1700!

One interesting thought is that, if we take a drive 3 hours South to Springfield, we can fly Allegiant into Sanford and rent a car during our stay for about $1100 (though Allegiant has annoying add-on fees, there wouldn't be $600 worth of them!).

But I still don't know how I can convince DW that we should take a $4200 vacation this summer. :scratchin

I have to admit, it's making me regret a bit the "money is no object" approach we took to the October trip. It would be nice to have some of the money we spent on "extras" available to pay for another trip instead.

Hopefully it does open early... It looks like a lot of fun, but then again, all of the other ones they have are great too.

Gosh, I've been to Kings Dominion but it has been so long I forget how the wooden coasters were... I just remember the Wayne's World one and another one that was like the Racer at Kings Island... I know that one tends to be pretty rough coaster. I'm used to the Beast and Son of Beast at Kings Island, and they are notoriously rough, but I thought the wooden ones at BG seemed pretty tame and didn't beat us around much compared to those. It still might be better to err on the side of caution if they might make you miserable though.

O.K. Gentlemen...the next time you are in Disney World, down a Dole Whip in honor of Emma's Dad. It will be our way of thanking him for all the hard work he has put into keeping this thread going. God bless you Emma's Dad and thank you! :thumbsup2

Sadly, this time she went "off property" and took a non-Disney animal. A stuffed purple & white tiger that we gave her for Valentine's day.

You have a beautiful daughter! And Smart too! Thank God she did not want to wear that Cheesehead hat. :cool1:
Thank you! She didn't want to wear the Cheesehead because she'd already worn it in the fall and wanted to keep her string of uniqueness going.

Thanks for the comparison. I have a feeling my DD is going to MAKE me go on them with her! :lmao: She's my coaster buddy now.

I just saw the video for the Cheatah Hunt... Didn't know they were going to have the induction motor boosts in there, too! SWEET!! Now I'm just HOPING they'll have a soft opening while we're there! :rotfl2:
