My goodness, get busy for a week and 80 pages go by. Me, being the sucker that I am, just spent the last hour reading them and catching up.

Welcome to the all new dads!!

My kids are off from school next week, but I have to work every day except Good Friday because we are so busy right now. Which leads me to my rant. If you don't have young kids, don't take your vacation when the kids are out of school on Spring Break. Several of the older people in my office, with no kids or grown kids, routinely do this which prevents me from taking off because I have to stay in the office. My kids are home and ask me why I can't be home. Breaks my heart, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

It is funny how several friends have told me how they are taking their kids to Disney next week. We are even giving one of them an old stroller we had in the basement to bring along. I wished them all a great trip, then went home and made up voodoo dolls of them. I have taken 2 days off so far this year for school plays and that's it. I am allowed 5 weeks vacation. I could go for a Grand Marnier SLushie right about now.

I will have the Commissioner posting about the DIS Dads Fantasy Baseball League up sometime this week. It pains me to say but my nemesis, Aaron(AJ RItz), and Jim(PJimmeyer) are kicking butt so far. Half my team is on the DL, including Longoria and Mauer - ugh

Ever ride the Rip-RIde Rocket at Universal Studios? I definitely had to call a Code Brown after that one.

I'm sorry that you don't get to spend next week hanging with your kids at home or heading on a trip with them. Its a bummer when "vacation allowed" ≠ "vacation you can actually use"

I just found the man-cave!

Real name is Terry and I live near Edmonton, Alberta with my DW and 2xDDs. Our next Disney trip is this August on the Wonder but our next WDW trip won't be until 2013. At least I have my Vinylmations and catching up on this thread to keep me occupied until then :thumbsup2

WELCOME!

he'p me!

I'm making a DDC logo (differenter and less "Disney Channely" in case they get all uppity because it's a perfect copy of the Disney Channel logo) and I need help filling out the following:

I need stuff to replace the directional stuff. I've already made the logos for the 4 parks. I would have put AK to the west and DHS south but after I finished the AK logo there was no way it would fit anywhere else.

ANYWAY, here's the logo - who wants to help?

Awesome job!

Dave ~ A garbage can with a DVC logo just blew past our house heading towards Jersey! :lmao: That was some storm!

Allison was moved back into a reguarl room this evening. Yesterday evening was Prom and the local news did an interview with her and Dale. I have tried to find it on line to post here. So far I have not located it. She did a good job and is keeping her spirits up. The community had the spaghetti dinner yesterday at the Grand March for Prom and raised another 6k. Our church bought her an ipad so she could use skype when she feels like it and communicate with family not at hospital and they are also going to try to live feed the cantata this week to her. She was supposed to be in it. I have not heard when her surgery has been rescheduled for. Jacob was discharged from the hospital yesterday and is staying with some other family. He and Dale went to Grand March and when they came in the place went up in a roar to see him and that he was out of the hospital. Andrew and Jonathan both had dates from the Prom and their dates both carried a rose in honor of Richard. I really appreciate you asking and everyone continuing to pray for them.

And Look who owns the page....I guess Chris being in WDW does have some advantages:rotfl2:

Thanks for the update.

We will keep them in our prayers :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

It's kind of worrying that no one else caught that. Maybe his major focused on the reading part, not the writing part?

In my defense I was trying to type after reading about the fancy way of saying fart :lmao::lmao:
You mean an English major? :rotfl::rotfl2:

Yes sir I done did mean that :rotfl2:

Morning Guys,

Steve, thanks for the good news. Here is hoping things continue to improve. It is nice to see a community come together.

Got a good night's sleep last night for a change. Lots of running around today incuding picking up the car at the garage. A $1,200 bill. I keep saying to myself, at least no car payment, at least no car payment... Rain forcast for today but nowhere near as bad as others have seen.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Awesome job!
Thanks!

I was thinking about putting resort names around the NW/SE, etc. - AKV instead of SE, for instance, then specific rides or restaurants around on the smaller ones but I don't know which. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

PAGE 208 total Ownage!!!!

Between you and stopher posting jokes, I'm not sure who is worse, but I know Version 9 will be here soon. Good thing you 2 are nemesisses or nemesi, because Don may take both of you to the woodshed

Another rainy, crappy day here in Toronto.

Morning dad's.

Those roller coaster's posted a page or two back... where were they?

YeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww

Know what you mean on this one. I “get” four weeks, but… I’m not allowed to take any time off the first two weeks of any fiscal month (that’s 26 weeks gone), I can’t take any time between November or December (without a huge fight), I can’t take any time in January or February (not even with a big fight) and I have to deal with the school calendar as well. Ugh!

You mean an English major? :rotfl::rotfl2:

I missed that one as well.

Yes sir I done did mean that :rotfl2:

Looks to me like that English degree must have had a strong emphasis on South’n Dialects.

One for each of you? I'll see what I can do!

Thanks, Greg! :thumbsup2

Congrats, David! Glad you found us!

Nice! Great job, Mark!

Tough to multiquote on an iphone...Thanks for everyone who wished me well! Sorry if I missed any. Hope you're enjoying my updates. I really enjoy reading yours when you're down here, so I thought I'd do the same. And if you're not enjoying them, maybe you're on the wrong board? :confused3

Another busy day today. DW & I are exhausted after being up most of the night with the phone issue. Put the kids to bed early for Disney (by 8:40), but late for them. Tomorrow, MK! We already talked about multiple Dole Whips tomorrow (on a hobbit's eating schedule: 2nd breakfast, elevensies, lunch, tea, etc). Should make a dent in toasting you all! Had a Beverly for you all today!

Have a great night, guys!
glad your having a great time doc, keep us posted!:thumbsup2

Headed out to Worlds of Fun for Opening Day today. It rained, and temps plummeted, overnight last night, so our plan to be there at rope drop was altered. Instead, we waited to leave home until i got up past 50 degrees.

We didn't get to the park until about 1 p.m., so we didn't have long at the park before we were butting up against Squeaker's need for a nap. But The Bug and I did get to enjoy the three biggest roller coasters she's ever ridden.

First, we hit Mamba. It's got a 205-foot initial drop and reaches 75 mph. It doesn't do any loops, but the speed and rise/drop sequence generates a really powerful sense of weightlessness.
mamba_02.jpg

Next up was a "classic" - the only coaster in the park that's still there from my last visit to Worlds of Fun back in the early 90's. We rode The Timberwolf, an old-style wooden coaster with a 95-foot first drop and the roughest, creakiest, ride in the West. It reminds me a bit of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, without the theming and with more up and down rather than spiral motion.
timberwolf_03.jpg

The last ride we managed to get in before Squeaker melted down was Patriot. That was the coolest coaster I've ever ridden. It's inverted, and includes a series of seven loop-type elements during its 2 minute 18 second duration - an 89-foot vertical loop, a zero-gravity roll, an Immelmann loop, an inclined banked curve, an s-curve, a corkscrew, and a high-speed spiral. It was seriously intense! And we've still got three more new coasters to check out on our next trip out. :thumbsup2

Well, it's official now: we got a notification in the mail that the Chase Disney Rewards Debit card will no longer get Disney Rewards starting July 12th. Thanks to that Beverly Durbin Amendment.

Everyone should prepare for no more free debit transactions and the elimination of 'free checking' accounts. This Peanut Butter government is ridiculous! :headache:

{/rant}

Hope you all have a great day! :goodvibes
