:scared1: Yikes! I think I'll stick with my old gas weber.

I'm there with you. While I would LOVE to take advantage of thebiggreenegg's smoking capabilities, I just can't justify spending that on a grill - especially not around here, where it's virtually impossible to use for several months every year.

Last year one of my good friends was moving and he posted a bunch of stuff for sale on Facebook. One of the things he had posted was a Smoker for $50. I figured it was one of those small table top type smokers. I went to go pick it up and fortunately I had borrowed a pick-up truck since I was also buying his fridge. What he ended up selling me for $50 was this bad boy

I absolutely LOVE IT! My family wont even let me make burgers on the Weber Gas Grill any more!

OK I'll give it a go...

Big Green Egg....

Thanks for the info. I will look into pricing them out. Easier to bite the bullet knowing that it doubles as a smoker. Grilling is a year round sport down here so it would get plenty of use.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's causing the delay there. I didn't notice at first that my iTunes is pulling the podcast directly from the disdads.com feed, rather than via the iTunes listing. If it doesn't show up in iTunes by tomorrow morning, I'll follow-up some more.

It's on iTunes, now! :cool1: Sounds great so far! Nice work, guys!

Pitt has destroyed my brackets completely :scared1:, and the women from the Hawkeye State (both teams :sad1:) have ruined those picks. Loyalty is a terrible thing in March. I'm accustomed to suffering though, I'm a Bills fan as well :headache:.

I am doing decent so far with my bracket, but that Pitt loss totally messes me up the rest of the way. I had them in my Final Four. :(

A few years ago we ran natural gas out to the deck by the pool and have loved that convience ever since. The kids and wife got me a big 5 burner stainless steele jobber last year for fathers day. Love it.

I have one like this and absolutely love it. The versatility of slow smoking or direct grilling is wonderful. I have always like the idea of a big green egg, but have never been able to justify the money when I get such good results on what I have now.

Now, this talk about grilling and smoking has made me hungry, time to go start charcoal and throw on some burgers and sausages.

Very nice!

So I'm sitting here today working on our grocery list for our upcoming trip to OKW. I hate how expensive some things have gotten in the past few months as gas continues to increase. Ugh. And now Garden Grocer has implemented one of those insidious "Fuel Surcharges". :headache: Ugh.

On the flip side, I think we're going to go to a water park one day. Still no theme parks though. The kids have been practically begging, so DW and I talked about it and are pretty much in agreement. We haven't been to BB as a family since '08, or TL as a family since '06. So we're kind of leaning towards TL.

One thing we're thinking about too is the Kitchen Sink. We have not done that before... have any of you gotten it before? I've read lots about it before, and of course seen pics - so no need to post pics if you have them... just your opinion if you've done it. DW thinks it would be a great memorable aspect of the trip. DD thinks it sounds really cool, as does my middle DS. My eldest is quite the opposite, and doesn't want to participate... though I'm sure if it's actually in front of him he would enjoy it thoroughly too.

Had a full, busy day yesterday.

Introduced the boys Friday night to that classic from the '80s... GHOSTBUSTERS. Bill Murray is such a kick. Next up on the films from my youth line up... STAND BY ME. I love that flick. Then it will be more from Bill Murray... GROUNDHOG DAY. Friday nights have slowly become movie night after my DD goes to bed, sharing some classic, funny & stupid stuff from days gone by. So far we've shared: FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF, TIME BANDITS, AIRPLANE!, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, WHAT ABOUT BOB?, THE KARATE KID, and CADDYSHACK. They've seen others that I can't recall, but not in the same way - just dad and the guys most times, sometimes my DW has joined us too, but she doesn't have the same sense of humor, so she's skipped most of these, except for FBDO, WAB and TKK. More to come sure enough...

Oh yeah... and good job guys adding 10 pages in 3 days. WOW. :lmao: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Let's get it shut down BEFORE April... :rotfl2:

Off topic, watching the Today show this am, what the peanut butter happened to Kenny Rogers!? Talk about plastic surgery gone bad.

Isn't Kenny Rogers dead??? I thought that was just an android designed to look human.

You can never go wrong with Ferris :thumbsup2

I have never had the Kitchen Sink, but DW thinks we should put it on the agenda for the trip in November.

It sure looks good... reminds me of many a cool sundae from my childhood at Farrell's Ice Cream Parlors - the Trough specifically. Lots of scoops... looks yummy. We'll see.

Never done it - we've talked about it, but that is ALOT of ice cream, I say GO FOR IT! It's something you will always talk about. And you may even finish it.

Stopher,

I suggest adding to your movie list Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grill. The boys would love it, my DD did. "But I'm not dead yet."

Always wanted to do the Kitchen Sink but the only time we were there with enough people no one wanted to do it. Do it and take lots of pictures.

Enjoy the trip.
