Blue & Gold today. One of my boys crosses over to Boy Scouts, the other gets his Weblos badge and goes to Weblos 2. I'm committee chair for our Pack, so I get to talk. Let's see if I can sneak in any Zombie references...

2 to 1 odds...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Must have video evidence...

I'm thinking something about always being prepared, or potentially something about being a leader & blazing your own path (unlike a Zombie). :thumbsup2

You must feel like a little kid waiting for his little orphan Annie decoder pin!! :rotfl2:

ralphies skunked again!:lmao:

Yah… But, it all just ends up being a crummy commercial (son of a …..)
At least with the PodCast, you actually get something worth having once it arrives. :goodvibes

[Love the reference. :thumbsup2 That’s certainly in my top-10 movies list]

i try to live every day buddy, try not to sweat the small stuff and enjoy every second. my mother in law allways says about all the money we could save if we didnt go to wdw. i dont want to die with a big bank account and sit at home, we love spending time together, going to wdw, going out to eat, even though it is just cracker barrel or the local dinner. my mother in law,70, still thinks she going to spend all that money where she going. its only the past few years that they have started to travel, buying the good lunch meat:lmao: and enjoying them selfs a little.

This is pretty close to describing the primary essence of being a DisDad. Well said.

I third or fourth or fifth this one. The one my wife has, and maybe all of them, give you the speed limit for the road you're on. This can be nice in, say, Georgia, right Fed?

we have a nuvi. i dont use it for directions on our wdw trips but for mph and other info.

Nuvi user/fan here too. 265WT. I take it with me on all of my trips. I love the traffic info and the capability to recalculate a better route. That saved me about an hour going around Atlanta once.

I don't trust the speed limit info though. I keep mine updated but it seems that many roads aren't posted correctly. There's a town near me that is 35 MPH and the Nuvi says 55 MPH. If you trust the GPS too much you might get to meet on of Fed's buddies. :cool2:

I can’t take credit for that one. I picked this version up from “Emma’s Dad”. You can find a copy here:

Oh, I like that "DISboards Green" tinted version. :thumbsup2

Thank you very much!! I feel all special!!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Hey! You guys found my "tinted" logo :) I was playing around with the logo yesterday afternoon and that's what I came up with. Hope Aaron doesn't Mind that I got out my crayons and colored :rolleyes1 I managed to stay in the lines :rotfl2:

I thought it might be that my son has received his second Navy Achievement Medal for his work at his previous duty station in MD, but Don didn't know about that so...............

Wow! A SECOND NAM?? That's momentous! Congrats to your son!

So.... you chatty Kathys are killing me. Another 10 pages since I went to bed... sheesh! :rotfl:

Anyway... Phineas & Ferb is on... anyone find a date when they are going to have the character meet and greet at DHS?? I heard May... but we are there at the beginning of the month... rolling the dice here. Happy Platypus Day!

My condolences to you. It is rough when peers start getting those chronic diseases.

When given the choice between time and money pick time. There is never enough of either, but you can always try to earn more $. You will never get more time. I quite trying to run the rat race a long time ago and disappointed a lot of people but at least I'm not a rat anymore.

Those are some tough questions. How much is "enough"? Enough time with your family? Enough money? Enough memories made?

My condolences on the loss of your friend.

Both posts hit home. Last January, DD’s mom and my ex, passed away after a long illness. I was living in NY when she first got sick and had to make a decision to either move the kid to NY or I would have to move back to Miami. Needless to say, I moved to Miami. After she passed away, I quit my job to stay at home and work freelance. Luckily, I was in a good financial position to do it. Topping it off, I became seriously ill around the holidays and was hospitalized for over 6 weeks.

I am on the mend and one of the first things I did when I got home was to book a stay at BLT for a few days over her Spring break. We are combining the trip with college shopping (Universities of Florida, Central Florida and South Florida).

My choice is to take as much time as I can afford enjoying life and my daughter. Our little odyssey begins a week from today. YES! If you can’t tell, I am really looking forward to visiting the mouse.

Edit: First time I have page ownage. I take it as a good sign for the trip.

sorry to hear about your classmate. i lost my parents when i was 16 and 17. i had a brother who died of limphoma at 42. i try to live every day buddy, try not to sweat the small stuff and enjoy every second. my mother in law allways says about all the money we could save if we didnt go to wdw. i dont want to die with a big bank account and sit at home, we love spending time together, going to wdw, going out to eat, even though it is just cracker barrel or the local dinner. my mother in law,70, still thinks she going to spend all that money where she going. its only the past few years that they have started to travel, buying the good lunch meat:lmao: and enjoying them selfs a little.

Thanks for all the thoughts. We all try to do what we think is best for our families & children. In contemplating my mortality, I started second guessing the actions in my life. I need to turn that over to God, but giving up control is a lot easier said than done. We have softball tryouts and dance practice today, & that will get me chauffering and my mind off reflection.

Excellent plan! :thumbsup2

Sorry Don - it's my fault, again... but no, wait - it's Ron's fault, and I obliged him... yeah, that's it.

Oh - and BTW - we aren't chatty Kathys - we're chatty Carls! :rotfl: Make that mistake again and I will have to send some zombies your way...

I think we all do that from time to time, but it really isn't good to fret about what's done. It's better to pick up from where you are and make any necessary adjusments to improve the days ahead.

Yep, we had Perry Pancakes at my house for breakfast!

...and my first PAGE OWNAGE!!!

I like it. Every time I go in and try to change just the member number it erases everything :badpc:

What...you don't like my number???:lmao:

I'll try to change it with no number...maybe each person could add their own.

Here's the shirt I came up with. Would like to get a higher resolution copy of the logo though so there is no logo distortion on the back... plus you could modify to include your own username and member #.

DIS Dads Club Colored Logo Shirt

Looks good!:thumbsup2

We could really get the price down if we did a group order (>12).
How much interest is there?

We are going to be in Paris in the middle of July and been planning our trip there. We have a day we can go to Disneyland Paris or go to Versailles. We were in WDW in Dec last year and will be at DL in April this year. DLP is another version of these two, where Versailles is, well, Versailles. I would like to be able to do both, but I don't think I can. Since you brought it up, I'm going to have to revisit our plans. :coffee:

Those look great!!!:smooth:
Count me in for one.

In the ask Christopher a question category: What experiences have you had with the Cats of Disneyland?

I like the t shirts also. How can we organize a bulk buy?

Given only a day - I would be hardpressed to choose as well. As much as I love Disney parks - there are so many other wonderful things to see and experience out there.... blasphemy to some, I know... but it's true. Versailles is definitely on my bucket list. So much of Paris is. I loved studying about it all in the three years of French I took in school. We had fun field trips to French restaurants, and yes, I love escargot - as well as museums seeking out French artists, etc. DLP is high on my Disney list, but in the scheme of things - not quite as high as seeing true historical and and cultural landmarks.

The REAL reason behind my fascination with DLP is to experience the one existing HM that truly is unique, and not what we know or recognize here in the States - or what Japan has for that matter. You want to see zombies, go through the graveyard scenes at DLP. And with that in mind, Hong Kong's HM will be on my Disney bucket list too, once they finish building it and it opens. That one will truly be different and completely unique as well.

Regarding the cats at DL... there have been cats living in the park for decades. They roam around - especially in Critter Country and the woods surrounding the Rivers of America. DCA has some as well. I've never been a cat person, but many people are, and throw parts of their food around for the cats to eat. My DW had such fun interacting with one in DCA in 2009.

Thanks for the insight Christopher. You only have 10 post to go. So, do you miss living in California? I use to, but not any more. It's changed way too much, and not for the better.
