Hello Dis Dads:

I am back from WDW. We had a great trip, wonderful weather, BB & TL were a blast. My DD was turned into a Princess Belle at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Downtown Disney (her 5yo bday gift), pigged out at the T Rex restaurant, and just had fun relaxing at the pools at hotel. Both my DD and DS did the Build a Dino, and their wishes was to come back to WDW. Well, if I have to!!! I hate to break their hearts. I hope all of the Dis Dads had a Happy Memorial Day weekend. Take care.

uggggg, back to wdw for the kids. i feel your pain buddy!!!:lmao:

If you do a search on hotel in phila I could let you know which areas I would avoid ( which is allot ) lol. is there a holiday inn or hi express on walnut?

Hey guys,

It has been busy here so I have been lurking instead of posting. Can’t wait for my trip in three weeks to the World. I need a break. The bad news is that I won’t know for a week or so if I can go or have to cancel.

Dropping in to tell you that I saw a thread on Disboards about Give Kids the World in the running for a $250,000 grant from Pepsi. You have to vote for them and the process includes entering an email address. They are currently 17th. Warning: Do not watch the videos around people that think you are macho.

Here is the thread

It's also a good idea to call the clinic where she's going to be treated, and ask them if they have arrangements with any nearby hotels. It's common for "magnet"-type clinical programs to have special hotel deals available for the families of patients at nearby hotels (many of which also offer shuttle services, so you can avoid city parking fees).

yes but its only a two star for $5 dollars a night more I might go to the other one.

Ps Arron had a good idea to call the hospital and see if they have one where they refer you to

ok Dads...I am trying to make reservations for some of our special meals during the december trip...I made reservations for Sunday 11/28 at Crystal Palace going to celebrate Laurens birthday there...the princess meals were just too expensive I thought...anyway...what to do for Ethans birthday meal? Also, thinking of not doing whipering canyon this year...is there anywhere else that is fun like that? or any other suggestions for that meal where we will do MY birthday LOL. We usually do the same things over and over and I am trying to mix it up a bit...

OH yeah...I convinced Shari to fly in on Saturday 11/27 so we get an extra day now!!!

Looks like I'll be in Langhorne at SP again this Sat. Choo-Choo Soul will be there:woohoo:

You could try the T-Rex Cafe in DTD, It's not on the Dinning Plan but for where it is the prices are not that bad. My son loves it there the best over all the Disney meals:confused3

we will have to meet up one of these time at SP.My wife and kids alost live there

Sounds good:thumbsup2, I know we will be there at least 2 more times after that in June, We will be going to see Dan Zanes & The Doodlebops. Then during the rest of the summer it will most likely be on Tuesdays.

Two of my wife's friends, when they found out we were going to Disney, told her that we should get some kind of VIP pass which allows you to go to the front of the line. They said they were expensive, but worth it. My wife asked if they meant FastPass and they said no, this was something you had to pay extra for. I could not find anything about it online. Anyone here have any idea if there is something like that? What is it called? How much is it? I was kind of doubtful, so I figured I would ask the experts.

Thanks,

Universal Orlando has a Front of Line VIP type pass...that you have to pay for, and are expensive... perhaps that's what they were referring to, getting one FL themed adventure mixed up with another. Disney doesn't have paid passes like that at this time (you never know what the future might hold however).

The only think I can think of are the tours that Disney offers like the Keys to the Kingdom or Backstage Magic tour. I've never taken one, but I think they take you on some of the rides. However, it's the rides they choose as part of the tour, not just any ride you want. Aside from that, there isn't anything that I can think of at Disney like that. The theory is that once you are inside the park, everyone is treated equally.
They could be thinking of Universal where you can buy an ExpressPass. Waaaay too many people think Universal and Disney are the same thing.

IT'S REAL.

For $750 you can by a "VIP Tour". The cost is really $125 per hour, but thre is a 6 hour minimum. 6 X $125 is $750. Park admission, gratuity for your guide and food is not included in the price.

Here is what you get for your $750:

"Our VIP Tour Services team customizes your vacation so you spend your time playing, not planning. From the moment you arrive, your personal VIP Guide is there to take care of everything - from creating your ideal itinerary to getting you the best seats in the house for live shows, parades and nighttime spectaculars."

Nowhere does it mention you get any kind of pass that alows you to go to the front of the line (like a "fastpass"). But who knows :confused3, the VIP guide may have those types of priviliges but they don't want to advertise it as it could upset the masses that you can buy that type of access.

If you're feeling the need to spluge or want more info, I found a number and email for you.

You can reach VIP Tour Services at (407) 560-4033, or e-mail them at WDW.VIP.Tours@Disneyworld.com

That wasn't a sympathy vote. The King Kong reference pushed you over the top for me. :thumbsup2

Good memory and thanks for the vote.

How did we ever survive when we simply punched a time card saying we worked 8 hours a day?

I haven't punched a time card in 20 years. We have to do time sheets on an excel program, but you can just type in whatever you want, as long as the time adds up at the end of the month.

My DD was turned into a Princess Belle at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Downtown Disney

Sounds really cool. This October, we are doing BBB at the castle for the first and last time. Oldest dd is 8 and it may be her last time she wants to do all the dress up. It is $$$, but well worth it.

They have coconut races at Ohana dinner. My girls seemed to have a lot of fun there. We are going to try to HDDR, but my girls are into dancing, performances, and shows.

Hey, anyone watching hockey? I am not really a Blackhawks or Flyers fan, but we have NO pro teams in KY. A big difference in the scoring in games 1 and 2.

As you can probably tell from my avatar, I am following the Cup Finals. Yes, less scoring in game 2, but Niemi, the Blackhawks goalie, has been the difference in both games by a longshot. I am not a fan of either team, but they've played two good games so far. Series is also getting rougher with more to come.
