Well, all of the snow that we had this past winter means that we get to go to school tomorrow. You know, if our folks down in Raleigh would let us mountain folk set our own school calendar, we wouldn't be in the middle of this "going to school on Memorial Day" crap. Back when I first started teaching, we started school on August 6 and were out by May 22, give or take a day, and we never had to worry about going to school on Memorial Day. But, Mr. Basnight down in Dare County (on the coast) says that we need to begin school later in August (August 25 to be exact) and end in June (June 10 by his law) so that folks can travel down to the coast and spend money. This can be interpreted as the following: Mr. Basnight owns a restaurant (which is true) and wants your money, but he'll disguise it as helping the "tourism industry."

Rant over.

And I get to see my countdown calendar :)

Got my first infraction today. Apparently, I was a little to opinionated in a thread about people complaining that there were other people's children allowed to eat in restaurants at WDW. Go figure:confused3

Geez, next they'll start letting kids on the rides, then the whole place will suck!

:lmao::rotfl2:

As long as they keep the kids away from the characters. They take FOREVER.

Is that a countdown I see? We need some details! Congrats! :thumbsup2

(Although I think you picked the wrong dates...you'll be there about a week too early!)

Don't feel bad. Our kids have been stretched to the point where summer break is only 2 months now. They finish on June 15 and then start up again on Aug. 18. They'll be in year-round school soon at this point.

On the plus side, I have no problem pulling them out of school in September as a result. :thumbsup2

Man, that's just not right. I didn't think any school would be in session on Memorial Day. That's just unpatriotic.

Everyone have a good Memorial Day.

Oh, we've taken a beating for it (and have for the past 3 or 4 years), but we've also added the max amount of allowable days to the end of the calendar so it's our only option. Like I said, if we were "allowed" to make our own calendar, Memorial Day wouldn't be an issue.

The dancing corn fuzz are heading to WDW?! You must have found a barrel full of pixie dust dump. Nice! Any details yet?

DS starts school in Raleigh in August. I hope it's a mild winter cause I'm gonna strangle someone if I have to deal with all this school closed due to a 50% chance of snow BS.

:cool1: Birthday Trip... CONGRATS Nate!

How long does it take for you to drive it? Hope you don't spend your whole b'day dodging semi's.

We're taking it easy today, after the pool party yesterday. The Bug managed to get a pretty good sunburn - I should have known better than to take her word for it that she'd put sunscreen on. She DID use sunscreen, but only on the places not covered by her sundress - she didn't get on places exposed by her swimsuit.

Meanwhile, we're watching Muppet Show DVDs. Squeaker, who is usually a perpetual motion machine, is totally mesmerized when Elton John is performing.

Thanks

Cool a potential Dis Dad Meet. :thumbsup2
We will have to exchange digits so we can text our where-abouts. I'll PM you.

CONGRATS NATE!!!!:woohoo::woohoo: did you get free dinning?

Yes...one of the main reasons for going...last year was my 1st onsite stay with the QSDP...this year we get the Standard DDP for staying at a Moderate...:woohoo:

10 to 12 hours depending on Traffic...and Fuzz-a-relli's...construction.

Plus to save a off day at the Resort DW want to stop in Daytona for a few on the way down. Was a selling point for her...that and Cinderella's Royal Table.

I don't mind the long day...my reward is the rest of the stay. :thumbsup2

FYI...Chrysler Town and Country Rear Disc Brakes require a special tool to compress the Cylinder in.

Job done...rest of the day is open... :cool1:

Dispite the fact I wasted about 2 hours trying to compress the cylinder with a C-Clamp. :headache:

97 seems like a really big number. but at least it's not triple digits. :woohoo:

And there is a cat who has lived up to the name I gave him before our 2004 WDW/DCL Vacation. His name is TIGGER:rolleyes1 He's a mama's boy!! And watching the 22 year in a row of the Indy 500 and later with the surround sound on the Coca Cola 600:worship: CRANK IT UP :drive::duck::car:

So, what are the DAD's doing today? By the way it's only 85 Degs outside and VERY VERY humid:eek:

Try 194 more day til we make it back HOME.
