Gee, that's big of you Don! I'm sure DW appreciated your sacrifice. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Great pictures! The view from your room is absoutely fantastic. You're giving me some ideas for future vacations. Looks like it was a great time! :thumbsup2

LOL! The things we sacrifice ourselves for :rolleyes1
It really was a great time by all!

Wow, fantastic pictures!!!!!!! We went to Niagara Falls when I was very young (like in months) so I don't remember it, although I've seen the pictures. Same need for ponchos, and that Maid of the Mist must be getting old and rickety since it was there then. :rotfl:

What a fantastic hotel, and wonderful view of the falls from your room. I might just have to plan a trip up there before long and experience it firsthand, again for the first time! :)

I'll tell you what... that hotel was GREAT! The room was spectacular, and was perfect for what we were looking for. Mom and Dad had their own room with a king bed, DW and I had a king bed, and DD had the pull-out sofa which was a queen. Everything was up to a deluxe Disney resort quality. Got a great deal on it, too... less than $200 a night for a premium view room. Highly recommend this hotel for your future stay!

nice pics don!!! my god daughter and her husband are toronto police officers. i havnt been up in a few years but the falls seem to be back further than they were a few years ago. i wonder how far daddy os rest. is from the falls? glad you guys had a good time. dws back looks fine from carring all the luggage into the room while you took a dip in the pool!!! :lmao: your my idol, i could never pull that one off!!!:thumbsup2

HAHA! I should clarify something here... she didn't have to bring the luggage to the room... she just unpacked the stuff and put things where she wanted them. No wife of mine is man-handling luggage around :cool2: That's what bell hops are for :lmao:

I gotta a number I gotta a number..lol Thank you. :) BY the way all..... my name is Angelo....

Wonderful vacation pics of the falls...Enjoyed um.....

Thanks! And I've updated the list to include your first name on page 1.

Close call on who's wearing the cooler shirt - you or your dad. I give the nod to you because it has more color. :thumbsup2

Story behind the shirt... my parents finally got to visit Hawaii for the first time a few years ago and they bought that shirt for me while there. So it's a "real" Hawaiian shirt! :rotfl2: I had only worn it a couple of times since then... so I thought it would be "cool" to go Hawaiian shirt with my dad that day.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. DW and I are taking a 10 year anniversary trip next month. The finalists came down to Niagra Falls (we were there just before we got married) or Louisville/Bowling Green KY. Kentucky won out based on price, but seeing your pictures brought back a lot of memories. I think I'll be planning a trip up there for next summer!

2 1/2 hour drive. Google Map

Happy early anniversary! Can't wait to see some pics from your trip... haven't been to KY yet.

I seriously thought about making the 2 1/2 hour trip to visit Nick's place.. but I had already been on the road for 2 days straight with more on the way. His place is on my bucket list :)

Great pictures, especially the Falls. Always wanted to visit, but the van seems to point south when we leave on vacations.

Thanks! This was our first non-Disney "vacation". Not sure a 3 day stay can be considered that... but for the sake of this discussion I'll go ahead with it :rotfl2: This trip was wayyyy better than my previous WDW trip this year. You can probably tell by the lack of TR :rolleyes1

Letting you!!! I thought it was required!!! :lmao:

The only problem I have is that not only do I need to add the Falls to my list of required trips, but now I have great visual images in my head that will be driving me to do it. Thanks for sharing your trip.:thumbsup2

Glad I could help with the imagery :thumbsup2 I tried to get more information about the place via the internet before we visited, but the pictures and videos just cannot do the place justice. Truly a spectacular work of art by the hands of God. Hope you get to enjoy it soon!

Don, Glad to see you had a Great Trip, Great Pics:thumbsup2.
I will be in your neck off the woods at BG, July 20 & 21 maybe we can meet up:confused3

Thanks! As for BG... you bet! PM me with your itinerary and we'll work out the details. I'm always looking for an excuse to use my BG pass :thumbsup2

Wow Don, Great pics! I've been to the American side of the falls several times but now I feel like I've never really seen the falls. Looks like you and the family had a great time.

Oh, man! You HAVE to try the Canadian side at least once! I was sitting in my room the first evening looking at the falls and I thought "what kind of view could you possibly get from the American side? We got screwed!" :lmao: BTW... did you hear the passport prices are going up???

Great photos, Don! Welcome back!
We've been up to the Falls once, about 10 years ago. They're amazing to see.

Thanks! It's good to be back. Missed being on the boards... but the DDC was missed most. Looks like I need to start planning for DD5 soon!

Great report Don! I haven't been up in the Skylon tower since I was about 8, the only thing I remember was people leaving notes on the part of the ledge that doesn't rotate.

Glad you had a good time!

They have little plaques now that give little bits of trivia. I didn't pay much attention to them since DD was sitting by the ledge. Now that I think about it, I should have taken a few pics of them. When I asked DD what her favorite part of the trip was, she instantly said "Skylon Tower!". Which was weird... considering her affection for the pool!

Crab race update. Blue Shark scored again, came in first in his race and this time he placed 3rd in the finals. DS came home with a 3rd place trophy & a T-shirt.

Next week Blue Shark will take the week off for training and R & R, since DS will be at WDW next week:goodvibes

Sounds like Blue Shark earned himself a nice long soak in the hot tub...or as I like to call it - Crab Soup.

I'm taking The Bug to see "Despicable Me" for movie night tonight.

I really wish this 3D trend would just die. I have yet to see a 3D movie where the 3D actually improved the movie. But the theater tacks on a "3D surcharge" to every ticket. I'd just buy tickets to the 2D version, but The Bug knows it's out in 3D (she's seen the previews all summer), and she would be disappointed to miss that.

annnnnnnngelo!! welcome !!!:thumbsup2

Thank you DVCZERFS for the Welcome and Hello.... Much appreciated.

I kinda feel like the new guy in the neighborhood. Meeting the guys on the block but still not really knowing whats going on. lol. I guess that comes with more reading and time. So I guess I am still not ready to ask to borrow some tools lol.....:):):):):)

Can someone tell me why the 3D is back?? I thought that died years ago.

Agreed! 3D adds absoutely nothing--except $3.50 per ticket.

Gee I already know more about Don's Niagra trip than I do his DISNEY trip...

Wonder why???

I here there are some homeless crickets looking for a thread to live in. :lmao::lmao:

So they can gouge use for extra loot.

And 3D is actually good now.

Our last experience was a 3D Hanna Montana concert on TV. Did nothing for me. I remember years ago watching JAWS 3 in 3d lol.... now that was funny....

lol...I jumped around and checked out some older pages....I can see the strict on topic code lol....too fun. Nice to have a place just for the dads.

check this out. a good idea for under the tree this year!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcKqIca9P-4&feature=related

That's awesome. My oldest son would love this. His absolute favorite ride in all of WDW is the bullet train, as he calls it. He could literally not even go into any parks and just ride the monorail all day long.

Maybe as incentive for behaving in school/home/church, he and I can start collecting the monorail set.

I'll give the moviemakers credit - the new 3D technologies are big improvements over the old red/green glasses stuff. It works really well. It just doesn't seem to add much to the storytelling (and poorly done movies use it as a crutch to replace good storytelling).

I think part of the impetus behind the move to 3D is that it makes movie pirating much harder. An HD video-recording of a 3D movie is going to look like crap when distributed around the Internet. It also encourages people to see a movie in the theater, instead of waiting to watch it at home. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to wait for most movies to come out on Blu-Ray and I'll watch them from the comfort of my media room on a 56" DLP (with my own food and drinks and the ability to pause if I or my kid need to use the bathroom). But I can't really do that with a 3D movie. I almost bought the Shrek 3D disk that I found at Target today. I was curious to play it on my DLP and watch it with the included 3D glasses, just to see how it looked. But it wasn't clear whether it was stocked properly, which meant I couldn't tell whether it was on sale for $10 or was going to cost $30. And I didn't care enough to take it to a register to find out.

WooHoo!!! :woohoo: I talked my DW into adding a short trip to WDW toward the end of this year. The original plan was to head that way during the Thanksgiving holidays (not the best time, but as I’ve said, we are completely restrained by the school calendar).

Well… She started rummaging around the boards and various fan sites :scratchin and figured out that one of the tricks to the current free dining plan offer is that: so long as the first day of your reservation is prior to the ending date of the offer, Disney will apply the plan to your entire stay even if you are staying past the end date of the offer. What that means to us is that we were able to move the trip from the Thanksgiving break to the very beginning of the Christmas break on our school calendar, get the dinning plan for free, save enough to upgrade our resort to POR, add an extra day to the park tickets, and still end up spending a smidgen less then the original quote in November. :goodvibes

SWEET! On World for the Holidays!
I knew I married her for a reason. :worship:

:lmao: just jump in. but be warned, we have a strict "on topic" code here.:lmao:

lol...I jumped around and checked out some older pages....I can see the strict on topic code lol....too fun. Nice to have a place just for the dads.

If I remember correctly the code is that if you actually carry a topic for longer than 2 pages, your banned for a week. :rotfl2:

As far as the 3D movie craze, I think the only movie I've seen recently (all have been animated movies with the kids) where the 3D effect was additive was How To Train Your Dragon. This was a good use of the 3D effects.

:cool1:only 2 more days until the next trip........can't wait for the wilderness lodgepirate:pirate:

Have a Great Trip:goodvibes I just dropped my DW & DS off at the inlaws, they should be landing tomorrow around 10am in Orlando then off to the timeshare, then WDW:cool1: I told them to watch out I think this is the time of year everyone from Brazil is there:scared1:
