I've been going to Disney once or twice a year since 1982. The last 3 times we went we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge (and I don't think I'll stay any where else) Oh and I only have 3 more days until my next trip

Wow... been away for a week and it takes a few hours to catch up with all the conversations here. Just too many things to comment on over the week, so I figured I just catch you guys up on what's been going on my way. Had a great visit with my folks up in Canton, OH this past week. so here is my little TR on the week:

Wow, fantastic pictures!!!!!!! We went to Niagara Falls when I was very young (like in months) so I don't remember it, although I've seen the pictures. Same need for ponchos, and that Maid of the Mist must be getting old and rickety since it was there then.

What a fantastic hotel, and wonderful view of the falls from your room. I might just have to plan a trip up there before long and experience it firsthand, again for the first time!

nice pics don!!! my god daughter and her husband are toronto police officers. i havnt been up in a few years but the falls seem to be back further than they were a few years ago. i wonder how far daddy os rest. is from the falls? glad you guys had a good time. dws back looks fine from carring all the luggage into the room while you took a dip in the pool!!! your my idol, i could never pull that one off!!!

we just extended our trip two days from arriving on the 2nd instead of the 4th of December to get free dining and saved a couple hundred dollars, almost a no brainer on our end

Two extra days and free food? Sweet!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. DW and I are taking a 10 year anniversary trip next month. The finalists came down to Niagra Falls (we were there just before we got married) or Louisville/Bowling Green KY. Kentucky won out based on price, but seeing your pictures brought back a lot of memories. I think I'll be planning a trip up there for next summer!

2nd Is anyone familiar with the Split stay and starting a Park Ticket early that has a special discount on it which is not suppose to start till later? Is this possible? I don't want to risk losing the Free dining but if we could start early that would give us 10 full days at the parks and 2 half days that we would probably use at TL, BB or DQ!

Instead of talking, just pick some of the songs - "It's a small world". "One spark of light". What type of special ticket is it? Not quite sure what you are referring. I think you can get a 10-day park ticket, and you can add waterpark tickets that do not count as theme park tickets, and they all expire so many days after the first usage (unless you have no expiration option). I am not the expert - Stopher probably is the one to answer this one.

i have to agree with you air, the last time i was up there it was october and it was cold!!! not chilly, cold. i love the heat!! as long as i dont have to sleep in it , a/c a must for sleep, i could live in florida with no problem.

Just wanted to post that my wife and I are starting to get mouse fever...

... need a little help in settling down any suggestions on ways that we can keep from driving everyone around us crazy with all our WDW talk as well as helping me to maintain job security!

Mouse Fever is running rampant in our house. As it currently stands this will be the first year since 2003 that we didn’t get down there at all, and I starting to go through serious withdraw (“Dole….whip….must…..have…..Dole…..whip….”). I’m trying to talk my lovely southern bell into letting me spend the money necessary to go down for a few days during Thanksgiving (and I think I’ve just about got her convinced). I know it would be cheaper to go a couple weeks earlier or a couple weeks latter, but we are hopelessly tied down by the school calendar.

As for not driving everyone else crazy, that’s why we spend time on these boards. Everyone here is completely nuts already, so we talk about DIS here and spare the family and friends (unless they foolishly ask us a question about it)

On a side note, I just spent an hour cleaning the coffee off my monitor after reading the megapone comment

I encountered a similar problem when I read that post. Obviously I need to install some type of blast shield around my monitor when reading through these threads.

The only problem I have is that not only do I need to add the Falls to my list of required trips, but now I have great visual images in my head that will be driving me to do it. Thanks for sharing your trip.

I keep trying to convince DW to move to FL now. I said that Disney would probably let me work two, 8-hour shifts a day. We live in the same town with her parents, brother, nieces, aunts, etc. and does not want to leave them. I'll keep hope alive.

Crab race update. Blue Shark scored again, came in first in his race and this time he placed 3rd in the finals. DS came home with a 3rd place trophy & a T-shirt.

Looks like you will be there for the Dec Dis Dad Trip Let The Party Bus Roll, most will be there Dec 4th or 5th till Dec 11. Maybe you will have time to join us there

He keeps it up he's going to be subject to "post race inspection" as well as "performance enhancement screenings"

I bet the poor little guy is exhausted with the extreme schedule, a nice week off will probably do him some good

Great report Don! I haven't been up in the Skylon tower since I was about 8, the only thing I remember was people leaving notes on the part of the ledge that doesn't rotate.

pump that little guy up on some sugar!!! how would you do a blood test on a crab?? for that matter, he has no thumbs, you would have to hold the pee cup for him.
