One of the guys who works with me in a different dept. is going to WDW the 1st week of Nov. He's spending the big bucks (staying at the Contempory, meal plan, park hoppers).

I was telling him where I was going to eat when I go, so I asked him where he was going, his answer was - How did you book ADR's already your going after me it's not 120 days yet, we can't book ours for a couple weeks.

I asked who told you that, you can book at 180

My wife, she's in charge of all that.:scared1:::mad::scared1:

Ok, well I tell you some places where your not eating

He got on his cell and was yelling at her, ( he enjoys fine dining) got off the phone and said she's going to make them now.

I don't see him too often, but I can't wait to see what he ended up with:lmao:

i cant wait to hear what happens, im sure its going to be his fault one way or the other.:lmao:

You're too modest. For night-time shots of moving targets with a hand-held camera, these came out great!:thumbsup2

Thanks. :)

I was actually a little underwhelmed with Wishes the first time I saw it. I guess I wasn't the only one!

Oh not at all. It's never been my favorite at all. Personally I was pleased to see that it was being pulled this summer - but I know a LOT of people who just think it's the best thing since sliced bread...sooo....

Very jealous of you, Christopher, but also very glad that you got to be the 1st Dis Dad to experience the return of the parade!

:) I did one of these :cool1: when I realized I would be able to be there and see it on "opening night". I "could" have been there on the AP preview night, but I chose to go over and watch the Hyperspace Hoopla at the Studios instead, since my sons and I missed that during last year's Star Wars Weekends. THAT was a blast as well. Since this year is the 30th anniversary of EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, they had a bunch of references to the '80's and that "anniversary". If you get a chance look for the 2010 version on You Tube. It's irreverent and just plain fun! I was cracking up quite a bit, and the strongest thing I'd had prior to was a chocolate shake from the Dockside Diner...

stopher, i was there in 2000 when they made this big deal about the electrical parade leaving and it will not be back. they even sold pins that it was retiring. im glad to see it back, spectro is ok but the electrical parade and the music have got to be the best parade they ever did.:thumbsup2

i remember that big drum said disneys main street electrical parade. ive have pics of that yet.

Disneyland did the exact same thing in 1996 when it was "glowing away forever". All of the lights were stripped and sold for $10 each with proceeds donated to the Orange County Children's Hospital. (We were there on Main Street practically every single night that summer to watch it).

Then what happens - it gets restrung and shipped off to France. And then somehow "magically" reappears in California Adventure in 2003. It's been running there every summer since - but thanks to all of the major construction at DCA this year and the major new World of Color lagoon show opening this Friday, it was shipped out to FL for the summer. But I'm not complaining... since I got to see it back on a Main Street where it belongs... not on a "parade corridor" like in DCA. ;)

It still does, it just flashes on and off. Starting with Disney's, then adds Electrical Parade, then goes out and starts over again.

The original versions said MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE... but it was changed to Disney's once it appeared somewhere other than on a "Main Street".

Jury Duty Today.:sad2:

I have jury duty just a couple of days before my trip to WDW. No way will I be sitting in a jury box with a studio waiting for me at AKV. I can just see the judge now, "Any reason you cannot serve on this jury?" "Yes, I am going to Disney World."

Christopher, great shots of the parade. Can't wait to see it.

i had that problem back in october. we were leaving the next day. i called and they put me on another day in nov. i didnt want the judge to say too bad.:lmao:

Learned 2 things today...

1] To feel instantly better about how you look...go to a Water Park in East Tennessee/Smokey Mountains.

2] To feel better about the crazy people in your Family...listen to the conversations while standing in line or just sitting around at said water park.

I think any water park in the south can do that

North Carolina here
trenner: Funny.
Missouri. If i had time, I'd change the font to black & gold, but i'm leaving from work now.

Paul....what's happenin' man?

Ready for the Cup?:thumbsup2
I am SO ready for the cup. I'm reserving my jersey purchase until 3 pm central time saturday, pending the outcome of USA/England...

You left me off the list - Kentucky.

OK, so my surprise worked great. We did not tell the girls (8,5) we were going to WDW for a Summer week vacation. We did tell them we were driving to Nashville, left the house at 7:00 PM, and kept telling them it was a long drive. Fortunately, they do not keep time well.

Some of the things I've learned on this trip:
(1) AKL Kidani is beautiful. We see a ton of animals in the Savanna view.
(2) The deluxe dining plan is way too much food. Have to re-think fall trip.
(3) The french onion soup at the Grand Floridean Cafe is AWESOME.
(4) Animal Kingdom park was great - 2 Safari rides at opening.
(5) The Dole Whip machine at Captain Cook's at the Poly is SELF SERVE, and even colder and better than Aloha Isle.

That's all for now. Unplugging to rejoin vacation. More info and pics later.

Disney Daddy-O doesn't get the chance to check in very often, but we can add him to the Canada list, eh?

Very cool! Glad you had a great time, and we're looking forward to the pics! :thumbsup2

Anybody else catch Stephen Strasburg's performance tonight for the Washington Nationals? Pretty impressive.
