Cast:
Me: 33 - Florida Mad, Disney Daft etc, etc,
DH: 41 - As above x 100
Also Starring:
Friend Joanne, Joanne's DH, FIL and 4 lovely DS's aged 9, 8, 5 and 2.
After yesterday, we were all raring to go. We met at Dennys for breakfast. Joanne was really refreshed and said she felt like a new woman (dont know what her DH thought about this though) After a normal Dennys huge breakfast we headed to Animal Kingdom.
We could see from the car park that it was absolutely packed today, so I used my Dibb knowledge and went in by the RFC entrance. First of we headed for Its a bugs life. I was a little bit concerned that this would be a bit too much for the younger ones but they loved it. Don't know who these two strange birds were?
Next up was the Lion King (stopping of for a FP for Kilimanjaro Safaris) which brought tear to Joanne eyes. Her oldest DS was picked to get up at the end. He was so chuffed about this and it really made his day. During the show however we did notice a pong coming from somewhere, Joannes youngest DS had left a little present in his pants!. We hoped no-one else would notice and the show was nearly over anyway. We were right at the side beside where the CMs come out to perform so we had some interaction with them while they were waiting to go on which was great.
On the way out of the Lion king we stopped for cold drink and Joanne's DS2 had his picture taken with flick.
Next up was Kilimanjaro Safaris and it was, as ever, wonderful. Lots of animals out today even with the intense heat.
On the way out we did the walk which leads to the Gorillas. They of course were all fast asleep in the sun.
We then tried to get FP for Kali River Rapids and Everest but Kali River Rapids was return at 6.30 (we had dinner bookings at RFC at 5.30 so that was out) and Everest had no FP left, it was only 4pm! Next up was Dino Rally. I didnt do this as I hadnt done it before and so wasnt sure if I would like it. However DH assures me I would love it and so I will definitely do it next time. Time was pushing on now, it was 5.00 so we decided to head towards the entrance and RFC. We got caught behind 30 brazillian children so ended up racing to RFC for dinner reservation. Joannes boys got distracted by the arcade thingy in Dinoland so we said we would go on ahead to get the table and they could follow on. Unfortunately the RFC said it was not their policy to seat tables when the whole party was not there. The lady at the purple elephant was a bit abrupt and said if they werent here in 10 minutes we would loose our table. When they still werent back we went back to the purple elephant again but this time there was a very nice young man there who said not to worry and just come back up to the purple elephant when they turned up. A few minutes later they arrived, out of puff from running. We waited about five minutes and were seated. You know how after a long day you want to just relax and have a nice meal? Well, that would have been impossible for us today. I think we must have had the most over enthusiastic server EVER! She was really nice but after about 20 minutes at our table taking the order, trying to flog the booze, get us to sign up to a regular diner discount thing I just wanted to yell GO AWAY! I think the heat got to me that day. I tried to order Joannes FIL a martini but didnt realise that they are totally different in the states and are made with vodka or gin! What he got was not his usual Martini but something else completely. Bless him he was trying to drink it but I could see he wasnt enjoying it so told him not to worry about drinking it. . We had a lovely meal and left the RFC at about 7.40. DH and I went back to the villa and had a swim as it was still really hot and chilled out for the rest of the evening.
