I see we can book dinner at the Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom.

Any comments good or bad and do they still have the show?

Thanks

Gosh I hope not! We have ADRs for the Diamond Horseshoe. I don't eat at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner because I don't like Stouffer's - I don't eat it at home, why would I eat it on vacation? :confused3

Sorry, you're going to be horribly disappointed: the food at the Diamond Horseshoe comes straight from Liberty Tree kitchen, is served by Liberty Tree servers (wearing the same colonial costumes) and is EXACTLY the same as the "Thanksgiving style" family meal that is served at Liberty Tree...they give it cutesy western names like "Saloon salad"--it's the same lettuce salad with strawberry vinaigrette that is served at Liberty Tree. They call the meal something like ranch-hands round-up...but it is Liberty Tree meal with the turkey, ham, cornbread stuffing, stouffer's mac & cheese, etc.

There is no show...and although the Diamond Horseshoe is an awesome looking place don't go there unless you really want the Liberty Tree meal.

Lunch is counter service.

Previous posters are correct - dinner is exactly the same family style menu as Liberty Tree - they just change the names. Everything comes out of the same kitchen.

And there won't be a show at either dinner or lunch. It's open only as an overflow restaurant because they expect so much demand during free dining.

I booked a reservation with online booking, but I will be cancelling.

Thanks for the input.

Diamond Horseshoe was open last week at lunch for counter service. It was a sandwich only menu.

Was trying to book a LTT ressie in August... and this came up as an option. I was like huh? what is this place? So looked, and seemed to be the same meal I'd get at LTT, where I wanted to eat....so then found this thread, and that explained it all!
So guessing since we were looking to try LTT, can't get it, then Diamond Horseshoe is what we'll be doing instead!

They give you rolls and butter, also... right? dining with three kids... that's important for us, LOL! And any dessert options there?

Diamond Horseshoe is the same stuff as LTT dinner. It is only opened up during free dining ,holidays, and peak season. They no longer do the show

Yes, there were rolls on the table when I peeked in last September - and the dessert at dinner was the same as Liberty Tree Tavern's...which I seem to recall that it was a cherry cobbler ala mode (or maybe it was apple?) Anyway, did see some kiddies at another table looked like they just had plain ice cream in a small bowl so that may be the option for kids.

no im bummed, I thought this was a dinner show of sorts! so it really is the exact same as LTT, granted I enjoyed the pot roast there, hmm, not sure what I will do!

Hi
We went by the diamond horseshoe saturday and it appeared to be set up as counter service.

So why would I be able to make a reservation for counter service? and I just called dvc to see if my reservation was there, and they said yes for the Diamond Horseshoe Revue? Very confusing!

Hi,
This was lunch time. i think the menu had pulled pork and stuff like that. Unusual for us considering the number of times we go for the place as a counter service.

I was unaware that they had anything for a sit down for dinner.

The Diamond Horseshoe for 2009 free dining is counter service for lunch (serving sandwiches) and sit-down family style dinner for one TS credit. You wouldn't make reservations for lunch, but you could for dinner.

Is the food at LTT really frozen Stouffers meals?? I know they are the sponsor, but I did not think they would serve all frozen meals!!! I will have to cancel my ADR !!!!

No, we have eaten at LTT, and yes it's sponsored by Stouffers, but no it's not frozed meals, I actually thought it was very good. I just thought the Diamond Horseshoe was some kind of show with dinner, kind of like hoop de do, but animatronics, not a family style meal/buffet.

I may cancel and just go to Columbia House.
