The Devil Horns Ride Again! A Rockin’ Jan/Feb TR New PTR Link 10/13!

More Star Wars excitement!! I just have never gotten into Star Wars, but believe me I am TRYING to convince my little Jimmy he should do the Jedi Academy.....however after looking at your pictures, I resign myself to the fact that he would definitely be the one in tears begging to come back to his parents!!

The only dessert party I've ever done was with Mom at the Osborne Lights last year. Are they all pretty much the same?? I know you've done others. Looking forward to seeing what you thought of yours!!

I know nothing about Star Wars, but trading with Jawas sounds neat!

More great pics with Darth vader! Love all the different PP ones too!

Sounds like a great afternoon at DHS. Can't wait to hear about the dessert party.

That's awesome that you actually traded with the Jawas. We really didn't have anything to trade him with so we didn't.

It's funny that you threw frozen in the middle of all of the Star Wars stuff. I still haven't seen the sing a long. Maybe next time. I do like Jims phone case though. I have a custom one for my half marathon.

I've never actually watched the Jedi training academy.

TSMM actually has seen a decrease in wait times since the third track opened. It's been averaging around 55-60 minutes instead of much higher than that.

Tower of terror is always fun!

I know it's not quite the same but I spent $150 on the sphero BB-8 droid and I played with him for maybe 2-3 weeks and now he just sits there. However it is cool to watch the Star Wars movies with him because he does react to different things during the movie.

It was fun trading them although I really wish we would have remembered the stuff I brought. I think we might have gotten a little more interaction with them.

Jim loves Frozen too so I had to throw the sing a long in there. I had a custom Pluto case but it broke. :( I need to make a new one in December.

Ugh, that's still pretty long for wait times for TSM. Hopefully once the new areas open, it will go down even further.

I guess we all have our silly things that we buy. I came close to buying the sphero BB-8 when it came out but decided against it.

Wowza! there is a LOT of star wars stuff going on isn't there?!?!

OMG those poor screaming children! :rotfl2:What is the age on that now?

You had some great stuff to trade! too bad you left it all behind.. which again i am --> :rotfl2:

Loved the devil horns on ToT! and you looking at him and laughing!!! LOVE IT!

Honestly i think i am a little upset with you not being able to save PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE cupcakes... I think i would have carried them around in bubble wrap and tissue paper.. LOL

Can't wait to hear all about the dessert party! I vaguely remember it on facebook!

Yeah, it was quite a bit of Star Wars but still no where close to what it would have been if we had gone during Star Wars Weekends. So sad they canceled those this year.

I think it's ages 4 - 12 but I'm not exactly sure. I just know that Jim was way too old. :rotfl:

We did have a great time on TOT!

Well I did have some of the cupcakes in mini version. You will see those coming up in the next update. We had so much food left over on this trip it was sad. I ended up throwing out about four containers on our last morning.

Dessert party coming right up!

Just read your 2013 Prime Time dining experience and WOW! That was pretty awesome and I can't imagine ever topping that -- such a nice and special memory for you and Jim!

That was probably the best meal experience I have ever had at WDW!

You know him best! Maybe have him watch it on You Tube to see what he thinks? I think it was only two kids that ran off. There was one tiny little girl, she had to be right at the minimum age, who got right in there with Vadar. She was so cute!

I've done the Osborne Lights one, Wishes, and now Star Wars. I would say the Osborne Lights one was my least favorite. I wasn't impressed with the selection of desserts. Wishes was awesome but they have changed things now and I probably won't go back. They raised the price, took away the assigned seating and don't allow you to stand at the railing. The did add some cheese and crackers but not worth the price increase! The Star Wars one was awesome and Jim and I really enjoyed it. The only drawback is no seats. The tables are high tops with not seats except for a few lower tables at the front meant for wheelchairs. Still there are no seats at those. I would have loved to do this one with my mom in December but she can't stand for that long so it's out.

We did have a wonderful afternoon and got some pretty unique PP pictures.

Dessert Party coming right up!

We Dance and Party the Night Away Part 1

We were about 20 people back when we lined up for the dessert party. At that time they were doing an evening dance party in front of the Chinese theater. Here’s where we were standing in relation to that area.

I had read on the DIS that the best viewing spots in the dessert party area were towards the front and to the left so that’s where we headed when we were let in. We were in the second row of tables and as far to the left as possible, the first row were short tables for wheelchairs.

Other than those front tables, the rest were high tops without chairs. Even the low tables in front of us did not have any chairs. The tables were fairly close together but we were right on the end and there was a lot of space to the left of us. These next two pictures are looking behind us towards the rest of the dessert party.

We took turns going up for food, Jim went first and this was one of his plates. I think it was blue panna cotta, a rice crispy treat and no idea what the orange thing was.

I was really bad about the food photos during the party, sorry! I know Jim also got a plate of savory snacks. They had cheese and fruit “lightsabers” (on a stick) and well as biscuits. My first plate was all sweets of course. I had a Darth Maul Éclair, Rice Crispy treat, some kind of chocolate cake and a Darth Vader peanut butter chocolate cup cake.

I also picked up a Jakku Juicy Cocktail (Green apple lemonade with citrus vodka).

I liked everything on my plate except for the éclair. It was really dry and bland. I also didn’t drink much of the cocktail because it was super strong and too sour for me. I ended up going back and grabbing a bottle of water to drink.

The party lasted almost an hour and we went back multiple times to the dessert tables. We also picked up our Chewbacca Steins. I will post pictures of those at the end of the update.

At one point, I headed over to the Nitro Station where they were freeze drying Nutella.

This was really good, I got mine with chocolate syrup on top. Sorry, the picture is so blurry.

I also tried out the Quarter Ration Biscuits because I heard they were really good. I thought they were OK, just tasted like a salty biscuit to me.

Oh and I had more than one of the Darth Vader cupcakes. They were my favorite of course.

The dance party continued up to about 10 minutes before the fireworks so we had some entertainment most of the time. They did a section with Star Wars Music and I took a video of that and also some of the dessert party area. You can see my dorky husband dancing at the end.

There were some rare characters at the dance party including Bolt, Genie and Chip and Dale as the Rescue Rangers. Sabastian was also there and he came up to the dessert party rope and interacted with us a bit. I was only able to get this one blurry picture of him.

In case anyone is wondering, they no longer have this dance party.

I had to get a picture of the earful tower since it would be the last time I saw it before they took it down.

Oh and one more video of Jim dancing. He really has zero rhythm!

And then it was time for the fireworks. And if you know me well, you know I took a ton, and I mean a ton, of pictures! These fireworks were amazing. They were perfectly set to the Star Wars music. There was one point where I swear there was a full scale battle going on above us. I have to say they came awful close to replacing Wishes as number one in my book. The fireworks themselves were better but Wishes just hangs on to the #1 spot for the emotional value. I can’t wait to see the new and improved version in December. Jim even said they were really good (this coming from the guy who hates fireworks and played on his phone during Wishes the next night). And now on to the pictures.

We Dance and Party the Night Away Part 2

And you thought I was kidding when I said there would be a lot of pictures!

The park was now closed so we made our way towards the exit. We stopped for one more round of PP pictures. These would have been cute but Jim’s shirt riding up on the one side kind of ruins them.

I thought we would be in for a wait at the bus stop but it really wasn’t that bad. We made it onto the second bus after waiting about 10 minutes. We were back in the room by 8:50 pm so only a total of 50 minutes from the time the fireworks started.

Here’s our Chewbacca steins from the dessert party. We ended up keeping one and Jim gave the other to a friend who is a huge Star Wars fan.

I traded for two pins during the day. The Pluto one was an awesome find.

And finally, my Fitbit stats for the day. Not as much walking at Hollywood Studios.

My sister danced like she never danced before at that dance party. She had a good 10-15 minutes alone with chip or Dale I don't remember who it was but there were like no kids over there dancing so she got a lot of time with the characters.

The desserts look good. I've been thinking about maybe doing it for my next trip since I know the new fireworks show you need to be in the hub area to see all of the elements of the show.

The stein is pretty nice. I'm a chewbacca fan so that would've been something I liked.

Great photos of the fireworks and great photopass photos on Hollywood boulevard!

The dessert party sounds like it was a good time! You had a great viewing spot and I love all the photos! Glad it was a good night and you made it back to the hotel quickly!

this is all just perfect. Jim dancing is my all time favorite out of ALL your reports. EVER.
Dance like no one is watching! the desserts are YUM! and looks a lot better than the Wishes party!!! can't wait to see all the fun stuff in HS now!!

Those fireworks look AWESOME. I love all those crackly ones!

The choices for food and desserts look more exciting than the Osborne lights dessert party. Did they have other cocktails, too??

I absolutely adore the dancing Jim footage!! You don't need rhythm as long as you're having fun!! :)

We saw the Star Wars fireworks three times when we were there in February, we liked them that much. It was easy from the Beach Club, though. ;) We are big Star Wars fans and the music was great. The dessert party looks like fun. That view was great. We watched the fireworks from the area right behind the dessert party one of the times were saw them. I'm going to miss them. They were really good.

That dance party was a lot of fun, so awesome that your sister had Chip and/or Dale to herself!

They've completely changed the dance party starting in mid January so you may want to read about it before booking. From what I read, it will be held in Launch Bay and then they will escort everyone to a roped off area near the theater.

Thanks, I was pretty happy with those photos.

The fireworks were amazing, I hope the new show is just as good.

There were some other cocktails too, I think maybe three different choices? I've bee reading and they are completely changing the dessert party starting in mid-July so my review is a bit outdated.

He was definitely having a blast that night!

Finally Time for My Happy Place

It was finally time to head to Magic Kingdom on Monday, February 1st, 2016. The park didn’t open until 9 am but we were up at 5:30 any ways. We had an insanely early DME time the next morning so I wanted to pack as much as possible before we left for the park. Plus we were going to have one Counter Service meal left over. I had given Jim several options for using it and he had chosen breakfast on this morning.

We left the room around 7 am to walk over for breakfast. I finally had an opportunity to take some day time pictures of Caribbean Beach.

Once we got over to the food court Jim decided he didn’t want breakfast after all. Instead he wanted to convert his last Counter Service to 3 snack credits later in the day. I had Mickey Waffles on my mind so I went ahead and got breakfast. The waffles came with bacon or sausage but I really don’t like breakfast meats so I asked for a vegetarian option. At the values they usually offer me potatoes. For some reason my request flustered the CM and she said she couldn’t do that. Then she changed her mind and said she could get me scrambled eggs from a different station. So she went off and get those. I rounded out my meal with a bottle of apple juice.

My breakfast was yummy as usual although I made the eggs a little too salty. Those little packs they give you spill out fast! Jim conducted a work conference call and watched me eat.

We headed back to the room and packed for a bit then walked out to the bus stop around 8:00 am. We made it to MK by 8:30 am. I was surprised to see that they had switched bag check over to where the exit used to be. It was actually nice not having to walk down and around and end up in a bottle neck.

We got a pretty decent spot for the welcome show.

It looked like we were going to have a bit of a crowded day. At least it was much warmer that the last few days.

Then it was time for the show!

Here comes the train! I was excited to see the train because I had missed it in November when it was down for renovations.

We joined the masses headed down Main Street.

We were headed towards Fantasyland because Jim had never ridden Peter Pan before. He had chosen our three FPs for the day which were Space Mountain, Mine Train, and Haunted Mansion so I wanted to catch PP at rope drop. We did make a quick stop for some Photopass pictures. You will notice that Jim has on a long sleeve shirt but I didn’t. I think he lasted less than an hour before heading to a bathroom to take it off. The weather had done a complete turn around and it was actually a little too warm on this day.

Peter Pan was a walk on so I didn’t get a lot of pictures in the new line since we were walking the whole time.

I did try take pictures on the ride but none of them came out.

I’m pretty sure that it was right after this ride that Jim decided he was too hot and wanted to hit the bathroom to take off his long sleeved shirt. Of course we headed right across the way. It was so early that the whole area was empty so I took some bathroom pictures for you.

Since we did not have FPs for most of Fronterland and Adventureland we headed out of Fantasyland and towards that area.

Up Next: Trekking through the Wild West, Tortuga and the Jungle

Your breakfast looks yummy.

Glad you got to see the Welcome Show, love the pictures.

Wow can't believe Jim had never been on Peter Pan!

Love all the Tangled restroom pictures, nice getting to take them with no one around!

Awesome CBR photos! I've never stayed there so it's great seeing all of those photos. Breakfast looks good. I love Mickey waffles too. I'm glad the CM did get you something to substitute for the bacon or sausage.

I love the welcome show but it's been over 2 years since I've seen it. With the last two RunDisney trips I just haven't been able to see it.

What Jim had never been in PP! I'm glad he finally got on it though.

We were headed towards Fantasyland because Jim had never ridden Peter Pan before.
:scared1: Never ridden Peter Pan?! WhaaaaAAATT? How could this be?!

It was so early that the whole area was empty so I took some bathroom pictures for you.
I think it's pretty funny that on my list of must-do's for our November trip, a visit to this bathroom is near the top

Amazing how we all get giddy about bathrooms.. crazy fun!
Thank goodness he had on two shirts at least he had the tee! yuck on the heat!!!

Did Jim love peter pan? It is a hard ride to photograph. going to fast and the dark neon is tough!

Never ridden Peter Pan?! What did he think of the classic? :)

Glad you got a nice warm day to finish up your trip!!

Love Magic Kingdom Mornings!! Your Country Bears Jamboree T-Shirt is totally adorable. What did Jim think of Peter Pan?
