The Deluxe Dining That Was Not Supposed To Happen - with lots of PICTURES!!!

Loving your reviews!
For the tea party, I've done for my dd for tea party birthday parties mini bagel pizza's and sandwiches cut into hearts and butterflies with cookie cutters. You can do PBJ, turkey,ham... what ever they like. They are a big hit!

Loving your reviews so far - did you ever find out why there were people sitting on the floor at CG?

Looking forward to reading more :)

hi! just catching up on your reviews, which are fabulous. I had a similar reaction as Tyler inside the Contemporary when we went to California Grill a couple of years ago. I don't know if it is the size of the hotel, or the monorail running through, but it literally took my breath away. I had to sit down on a bench for a few to get my bearings back.

Ok, I am going to try to get going again. I am still looking for Tea Party ideas but there is not really much else to do right now. So, while I am spending my time at work figuring out, planning, dreaming of my next trip, which is probably not until the end of 2010, I am really needing a Mouse fix! Thank you all for waiting for me!

The next morning, we had a breakfast ADR at Hollywood & Vine. If you read my last review, you know that against popular consensus, we love breakfast here! After riding toy Story Mania first thing as the gate was opened and grabbing a fast pass for later we headed up early for our 10:20am ADR. We were seated right away...to the left along the wall in a half booth. I think we were about an hour early. Our server was Susan. She was your basic buffet server. The room was pretty empty so we were not rushed. The food always seemed hot and full. We all love this place...it is your typical breakfast fare (plus tortillas and salsa and such!) but it is good and has a fun atmosphere.

Here is some of Skye's plates...

...a roll, cantalope, a banana, and a couple of MIckey Waffles...ears first, of course!

Here's some of Tyler's...

Disneytrip08135.jpg

Mickey Waffles, scrambled eggs, and his birthday cupcake that Susan brought him. I know he also had hard boiled eggs (minus the yellow part), and cinnamon rolls.

Here is one of my plates...

Oohhh, breakfast burritos...that is something that will definately bring me back here!

A few times each plus we were there for at least two breaks for music and dancing. We did have our one and only character problem this morning. Well, not a character problem but a mom problem. there was a little boy at the table next to us...maybe 3...and he got really excited when one of the charaters got closer. I don't remember who it was. When the character got to us, that little boy ran over and was all over it. The dad tried to get him back...he did not try hard but at least he did try...but the mom told him to leave him alone, it was ok. Now, I know my kids are older. And I know my kids understand the process. And I know they were able to wait. BUT, it was their turn. And it was rude for the mom to assume it was ok. She could have gestured towards us to ask if we would mind...to which we would have said to go ahead becasue it was not that big a deal...and because, it was already too late to reverse any of it even if we wanted her to...but she did not care if her son was putting someone else out. And they still took their turn again after we were done! This would have been a great time for that mom to teach her kid something...MANNERS! And I don't mean each him something in a bad way, but this is a perfect opportunity to teach by watching others and by example and has a great reward at the end. But she chose not to...and then we wonder what is wrong with the world today.

Here's a picture of Tyler's birtday cupcake and card...

At one point Tyler was done eating so I sent him up to get pictures of the buffet. It was really empty so I felt ok doing it.

DSCN0907_0309_309.jpg

It kept them busy when we were waiting so I did not have to break out the Uno cards or regular cards for War that always accompany us.

And here is the Christmas tree inside the door...

DSCN0906_0310_310.jpg
.

Our bill was $52.16 and a $5.00 tip. Service was ok...but it is a buffet. We always have fun here...even Tyler. It is usually not very crowded and we get a lot of play time with the characters. We were out of there by 11am...and that was with taking our time!

We will return here time and again for breakfast!

We stopped around 1:30pm at the Dip Site just outside of the Indiana Jones show. We were heading into the show but wanted somethign to drink. We found the best use of a snack credit. Unfortunately we did not think to take a picture. We for a bottle of coke and a Lemon Shock. The lemon shock was soooo good and we all sucked it down! It was a just lemon slushy but it was sweet and lemony and very good. And it as a super smooth texture. It did not feel like we were eating ice chunks...it was a smooth, cold drink...it was great! Our total was $5.39...or 2 snack credits.

We played around all day and as the Block Party Bash ended (which we were not very impressed with and we are parade people!) we headed over to our 3:55pm ADR at The Hollywood Brown Derby. We had never been there before and I was not quite sure what to expect. There are so many bad reviews out there and for all of those, there are also so many good ones. I did know that it seemed like even though the prices are a bit hogher for some things, it does not quite seem to justify signature prices...and therefore two credits each. It did not matter for us since we were on the DDDP...but for someone on the regular plan, I just don't see it's worth.

So anyway, we arrived a few minutes early and had a seat in the lobby.

Disneytrip08218.jpg

Disneytrip08219.jpg

We were called in shortly and seated to the right on the main floor in a round booth.

Disneytrip08221.jpg

Our server was David G. He was very good. He explained things (even though we did not really need it) and took our drink orders. He brought bread also...

DSCN0938_0291_291.jpg

For appetizers I had the Seared Sea Scallop...

DSCN0940_0289_289.jpg

...even though my receipt does not say that! It was sooo good...I wished there was more than one but I guess it was an appetizer...

The kids both got the Chopped Salad...

DSCN0939_0290_290.jpg

...with the dressing on the side. the loved it. Everything was cut really small, I assume as part of the Cobb Salad. There was lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, and tomatoes. Skye ate it all...Tyler doesn't do tomates...and neiter one of them used the dressing.

For our entrees, Tyler had the kid's chicken with broccoli and potatoes...

DSCN0942_0288_288.jpg

...that he ate all of the chicken and none of the rest!

Skye had a hot dog and chips...

DSCN0943_0287_287.jpg

...which is really odd for her. I mean, she likes hot dogs but generally unless it is at Sam's Club (because they have the best hot doge ever don't cha know!) or at home, she does not usually order them. She ate it all and some of Tyler's potatoes (I had some also and they were very moist and tasty!).

I had the Sterling Silver Pork Tenderloin with mustard spaetzle.

DSCN0945_0286_286.jpg

All I can say is MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! I was not super fond of the mustard taste of the spaetzle though. I wished it was a plainer spaetzel...because it was very good just not a flavor I liked very much. I managed to eat quite a bit of it, so it could not have been that bad but it was a very strong flavor. The meat though, oh my goodness! It was perfect. I really wish Tyler had taken a better picture of it...this one does nto do it justice! I would return there just for this entree and would ask to change to the potatoes instead of the spaetzle. Unfortunately, this is probably one of those places that I will never taste any other dishes...it was THAT good!

Ok, so after that side track (and Kelly Clarkson on American Idol!) lets move on to desserts...

The kids both had the Hidden Treasures...

Disneytrip08222.jpg

...under the chocolate chip cookie is vanilla ice cream and gummy worms (which Skye had no problem eating this time! - see Grand Flroidian Cafe in my last review).

I had the banana white chocolate tower...

Disneytrip08220.jpg

Again, mmmmmmmm....and pretty too!

David was great. We never wanted for a refill...it was just always done. He was back enough to make sure we did not need anything but not too much to be annoying. Our bill was $75.59 and we left $15.00 tip. It cost us six credits. We were there for about an hour and a half.

I still have this delema though...while it was great food, we had one credit meals that cost much more than this meal. Quality of service and food was great but for the dining plans, it is questionable money-wise if it is monitarily cost effective. For us, it was great! I think we would not hesitate to return...we think it was a great choice.

That evening after a fantastic Fantasmic we stopped at Everything Pop for a snack.

Tyler had the kids pizza...which he was very disappointed in. Not becasue of taste but becasue it is about big enough for a two year old...and about three bites for him. It seems at Disney, at almost 10 you are no too small to eat an adult sized pizza at counter services vneues but as soon as you turn 10 you are able to eat a whole adult meal...and adult type of food...just does not make sense to me! I don't know if it would have made a difference if I had just gotten him an adult one but I did not try. He got carrots and grapes with it and a kid's water. Skye got sour cream and cheddar potato chips and I got cheetos. We filled up our mugs with slushies too...blue for Skye and me and cola for Tyler.

Disneytrip08243.jpg

I believe this was all around $8.00 - $9.00. We used one meal credit and two snacks.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!!

Today is my birthday...38 long years. So Tyler and I both wore our birthday buttons. I did not wear mine everyday...just today.

Well, We went back...if you read my last review, you'll understand! This time, we had an 8:20pm ADR and I believe we arrived around 8am and they had not even started seating yet. We were the first one's seated. We were seated as the first table as the characters came out and it was also the closest to the buffet. Now, this in and of itself, was enough to make us happy here. Our server was Lilia and she was great! She took our drink orders and while she was there she noticed our buttons. She asked about birthdays and we told her that today was my actual birthday, Tyler's was in a couple of weeks and Skye was celebrating her Un-Birthday! When she brought our drinks back she had laminated place mats for Ty and me and a prince's crown for Tyler and a "Happy Birthday" crown for me. We went up for our first plates of food and shortly after we returned to our table, the characters began to come out. I do not have any food pictures this time...for some reason we were bad at buffets this time around. I do have character pictures though.

We saw Tigger...

Pooh...

DSCN0960_0277_277.jpg

Mary Poppins...

DSCN0962_0275_275-1.jpg

Alice...

DSCN0963_0274_274-1.jpg

...and since Skye was dressed like Alice she got a ton of extra attention from her! She was thrilled!

And last but not least, the Mad Hatter...

DSCN0964_0273_273-2.jpg

He acknowledged skye being Alice and asked her if she was celebrating something today. She said no, that her mommy and brother are. And the Mad Hatter quickly corrected her and told her she was celebrating her Un-Birthday!!!! And he played around with her for a while...she liked him even better than Alice I think! He told Lilia to bring Skye a crown too becasue it was her Un-Birthday! She she got one too...that made her day!

The food was an after thought here today...I cannot remember what we ate but I believe it was our usual for this place...waffles, oatmeal, strawberry soup, etc...it was good and did it's job. It was the experience and the service that thrilled us here today...and if you read my last review you know this was a complete turn around for us! We had so much fun here today...no worrying about refills, or characters passing us by, or anything. If we could guarantee this sort of experience every time, I;ll bet 1900 Park Fare would be on the top of our list of favorites!

We were there for almost an hour...all that fun in so little time...lesson learned. We will make super early ADRs here from now in...I think that is the key to this popular venue. Our bill would have been $47.96 but only cost us 3 meal credits.

As I said before, we will be back...but now next time, we will bereturning because of the excellent experience we had this time!

That dessert at HBD looks very good. Although, I do have to say that I have often questioned the worthiness of 2TS credits for HBD. We have never eaten there because there are others places I think I would rather spend 2TS credits on.

Eventially I'm sure we will eat there some time.

Great updates Sherry! I am glad that you had a better experience at 1900 this time!

Hi, Just caught up on your review today and I'm so happy to see a positive review for Brown Derby!! We are going in May and I was a little worried about it after all the negative things I had read. Your dessert looked amazaing!! I'm definitely keeping that one in mind

Oh I wish I had a little girl! Hopefully I will someday...

I love birthday parties. How about you come up with a theme for the party. Like butterflies and flowers. Then you could have all the food be shaped appropriately. Like you could just make little tea sandwiches in whatever flavors would suit (pb&j, tuna, egg salad, ham and cheese, plain cheese, turkey, whatever) and use cookie cutters to make them into shapes. You could do the same with lunch meat and/cheese with or instead of sandwiches.

Have you ever seen the fruit flower things? Where they take cut fruit and make it look like a flower bouquet. You could do something similar to that for the flowers part. Little mini fruit kabobs that look like little flowers. You take something like kiwi or pineapple or cantelope and slice it and use a flower cookie cutter and then use grapes for the center and stick it on a stick. If you search for edible bouquets you can find tons of ideas...

Then, of course, you could have little mini cookies/cupcakes for desert.

How fun.

I did actually buy a set of flower shaped cookie cutters...I am contemplating flower shaped, bite sized cheese pizzas and flower shaped finger sandwiches and flower shaped decorated sugar cookies, and so on and so on...I am one fo those people who tend to go over board with party theming...all part of the fun. Thanx for your input...and little girls are lots of fun but as you always hear, she is going to be my pay back from my mother! She's a lot of stress...even at almost 5!!! Get this...the other day we are in the car going to gymnastics singing to our favorite Kelly Clarkson CD and she askes "Mommy, if a song has a bad word in it does that mean I can say it?" She was talking about the word "s-u-c-k-s"..she is so much smarter abotu those things than her big brother...he;ll just haul off and do whatever he feels and pay for it later...she's gonna make sure how far she can push it without getting in trouble before she decides how far she is going to take it...to me, that spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!!!

I have just caught up with your report. It was wonderful. Your children couldn't be more cuter.:lovestruc

Thank you...I try...I figure I only have so much time to have any say in how the look so I am going to make them cute while they'll let me!

Awesome review, we are trying Cali Grill in June when we are staying at the CR...the only day and time I could get was 5:45.....out of 4 nights we are there!

Cannot wait to hear the rest, those two kiddos are adorable!

Ooohhh, CR MK tower view is my dream stay...are you getting a room there??? What I'd give for that room for a night...I don't know that I'd want to leave the room! 5:45pm might be a good time too...maybe not for fireworks but maybe for sunset watching and watching all the lights come on...could still be very good!

And thanx about the kids!

Great reviews thus far!! can't wait to hear more! by the way great view for Cali grill!!:cool1:

Glad you liked it, I just wish I had better pictures from there...next time, I promise!

Great reviews! Looking forward to the rest!

Hope to get more done tonight...see you there!

LOL, your dad sounds like quite the character. ;)

I could go to eat with him and remain quiet, looks like he has great taste, I've got ADRs at Teppan Edo, Le Cellier and Kona...and 6 other restaurants too. :lmao:

Thanks for their review. :goodvibes

Character, ya that's what we'll call him! Where else you got?

Loving your reviews!
For the tea party, I've done for my dd for tea party birthday parties mini bagel pizza's and sandwiches cut into hearts and butterflies with cookie cutters. You can do PBJ, turkey,ham... what ever they like. They are a big hit!

Thanx...we're going with flowers for our theme. Colors are pastel pink (not a favorite of mine but she, like all little girls has gravitated towards it!), white, and yellow accents. I'll have to let you guys in on what we do after it is done!

Loving your reviews so far - did you ever find out why there were people sitting on the floor at CG?

Looking forward to reading more :)

Nope, I assume just waiting for their tables. It was just on odd thing to me and I could not believe they allowed it...I mean if nothing else, it should be a safety hazard in the walk way of a restaurant!

hi! just catching up on your reviews, which are fabulous. I had a similar reaction as Tyler inside the Contemporary when we went to California Grill a couple of years ago. I don't know if it is the size of the hotel, or the monorail running through, but it literally took my breath away. I had to sit down on a bench for a few to get my bearings back.

Than you...i don't know what his deal was. We have been in the Contemporary many other times. I really think it was a combination of having been sick and flying that day and only having one other smallish meal with a lot of excitement. I am glad he got better though or I would have been worried about him the whole trip!

That dessert at HBD looks very good. Although, I do have to say that I have often questioned the worthiness of 2TS credits for HBD. We have never eaten there because there are others places I think I would rather spend 2TS credits on.

Eventially I'm sure we will eat there some time.

It was good! I know. It is a really odd on. Maybe they just need to add a higher priced dish to the menu or raise all th costs...not that I am advocating it but it just seems really out of wack with the other signature dining places pricewise. If you get a chance, try it though...it was really good!

Great updates Sherry! I am glad that you had a better experience at 1900 this time!

So were we! Last time we were so disappointed in it!

Someone's been busy! Great updates!

Yep, but all at the same time I just cannot get my stuff together to do anything...I think I need a swift kick in the butt!

Hi, Just caught up on your review today and I'm so happy to see a positive review for Brown Derby!! We are going in May and I was a little worried about it after all the negative things I had read. Your dessert looked amazaing!! I'm definitely keeping that one in mind

I was worried about it too becasue of bad reviews. There really are very little good reviews out there about Brown Derby. We really ended up liking it though and I am really glad we tried it. However, I sent my parents there a couple of weeks ago and they did not like it. But, if you read my review on their Teppan Edo visit, that might be a lot of the reason. My dad wanted steak all week...noting else. I do not remember a fabulous steak dish standing out there...ans since adventure is not his middle name, or even in his vocabulary I don't think, I an pretty sure this place was not given a fare shot by him.

Thanx for reading everyone...I am hoping to get some more reviews in tonight...so keep reading!

We headed over to Epcot and played around for a few hours. Around 11:20am we checked in for our 11:40am ADR at Coral Reef. We like one of the first seatings becasue you are more likely to get a tank side seat and you are less likely to have to wait for a table. Let me just say, we love this restaurant..we love the atmospere, the food, and have never had a bad waiter. We also are in the believe that contrary to popular belief, there are bad seats here, especially for kids! So, with that being said...we were checked in with only one other family waiting...they were just opening for the day. As we sat down, a few other families started to file in...pretty steady. So we are sitting on the soaf at the end closest to the dining room assuming we will be taken in shortly and not too affected by the fact that they were seating other families before us becasue we were early and maybe those families actually had ADRs before ours. Not a problem, I understand that. So we are waiting and waiting and a mom and her son who came in just after us and sat near us asked us what time our ADR was for because they had an 11:45am and were not seated yet even though people who came in after us were. We sat there a while longer and while we were there for around 30 minutes waiting, Skye and Ty were starting to complain about people getting seated before us...not becasue they are starving but because the more people seated, the less chance of us getting a tank side seat! And while they are being passed up a manager who had been there the whole time we were waiting and saw us sitting there went over to another family and started giving out Tink pins and then allowed one of the kids to trade one pin for three...one for him and wach of his sisters! Now, this is none of our business...and we had been given Tink pins before...the problem was that they were already not happy...and now, someone else was being rewarded for walking in and no one had noticed us sitting and waiting. Uuugghhh! So anyway, the lady with the son finally went up to see what was taking so long and the told her there must have been a mix up and they woudl get seated in a few seconds...so I went up assuming I was part of that mishap. Nope...the pager we were given was not working. They buzzed, we did not answer, and they did not bother to call out our name just to make sure. She even had the nerve to test the pager in front of me like she couldn't believe I did not hear it go off. Believe me, my kids do not let that thing out of their site...in fact it is an honor to be the holder of the pager in our family...they will actually fight over it...well, it did not work when she tested it. So we get told we will be taken in shortly. Before we are taken in the mom and son are taken in. Then shortly after, we are taken to be seated. No appologies. We are walked down towards the tank lower and lower past the first empty, cleaned table and Tyler starts witht he face. You know the face...the "WHAT??? WHY AREN'T WE GETTING THAT TABLE???" face. We are walked to the next table and tuned into the booth on the bottom row....not against the tank...here...

DSCN0972_0265_265.jpg

DSCN0973_0264_264.jpg

DSCN0974_0263_263.jpg

See that? that was forced...he was fuming! This was not good enough and he was offended that we did what we were supposed to (showed up on time....early even) and due to their error we were skipped over and not compensated for their error. He was mad! I had to keep reminding him that we have sat next to the tank many times and this seat was almost as good. But the empty table we walked by was haunting him...and then he saw the mom and son from the lobby that was involved inthe mishap and had an ADR after we did...they were against the tank...and that just made him madder! But I suppose all of that was mine to deal with and has nothing to do with our dining and what you are here for...so let's get on with it, hu?

Our waitress was Patty. She called Tyler a "she". He gets that a lot because of his hair...I guess if you don't have a buzz cut, you are a girl. That did not help his mood any...he hates it! Patti was short and not very helpful or responsive when asked questions. She tool our usual drink orders and brought out bread and dipping oil and butter when she brought them back. We all had dolphins on our cups...

DSCN0975_0262_262.jpg

For appetizers I had the land and sea again. It was as good as I remembered it. It is a skewer of a couple of cooked shrimp on cucuber salad and a skewer of BBQ beef on polenta...mmmmmm! I practically licked the plate. I do not have appetizer pictures for some reason??? Maybe I can find one in my last review....if I can, I will copy it over here.

Found it...

DSC04618.jpg

Ty ordered carrots and celery with ranch dressing to dip. He doesn't dip. He does not do celery. They shared the carrots and SKye ate one of the celerys. Skye had the lobster soup. No silly, not for her...she would not eat that! It was for me. She was not that hungry and none of the kid's appetizers appealed to her so I got something that appealed to me....hey hey hey now, I always ask if she want some of it before I eat it! Her answer is just usually "No". If I find that picture, I'll post it too. As usual, it was very good. There is not usually a ton of meat in it but it is creamy and flavorful and I like it!

Found it...

DSC04617.jpg

Both the kids had mac 'n cheese with no cheese...that was one of the questions we had asked Patti that she was not very willing to help on. the kids did not want a big meal...they were not super hungry and were saving themselves for tonight...wait for it! Don't have a pcture of that either...but it was plain noodles...not even butter on it...the kids did not want any...we are noodle purists here.

I had the Mahi Mahi with spiced pineapple chutney over cashew-jasmine rice.

DSCN0979_0258_258.jpg

The last time I had the Mahi Mahi it was over mashed potatoes. This was much lighter. I liked it. It was good. I don't know if i would say it was my favorite but I don't know that I could pick a favorite here. Everything we have had here has been good. That is why I don't get the bad reviews. Before we were foodies in the world, this is one of the places we did venture into...pre-DDP. We have always had good food...problems getting seated, yes, but not with the food. Neither of the kids would try it. I was good with that!

For dessert, the kids had the make-your-own sundae.

DSCN0981_0256_256.jpg

I had the Creme Brulee...after last time, there was not even a thought about it!

DSCN0980_0257_257.jpg

It was really good. Now, I am not a creme brulee expert...in fact the first time I had it was at Coral Reef on our last trip but it tasted good to me!

Our waitress was not very happy while we were there and was not around much. I had to ask for refills as she was running by. I had to ask for our desserts to be brought. I had to ask for the check. All in all we were there for anout an hour and a half...after being seated. Not good. We have never been here that long before even when we hung out to enjoy the tank. Our bill was $62.15 but cost us three meal credits.

For us, the check-in and service was bad and a fluke. We have been enough to know it is not a normal experience for us. The food was great. The kid's appetizers could be a little more...well...appetizing. We will be back for sure, we love the place!

Around 3:15pm we had to stop for SCHOOL BREAD!!!

DSCN0994_0243_243.jpg

And a milk. Ty was still mad about lunch so was being a pain. Skye and I shared it. Two snack credits...

:headache: That Coral Reef experience would've made me so mad! You're a lot nicer than me because I would have had some not so nice words (while the boys were covering up their ears of course :rotfl: ) i'm sorry your experience was so bad and then to top it off a distant server that just makes it worse! I laughed when you said people think your Tyler is a girl because people think the same about mine, he could be wearing a shirt saying i'm a little boy and people would still ask me how old she is :lmao: its funny that people think girls=long hair never mind the clothes!
After reading your H&V review I'm gonna have to add that on my ADR list (dunno where it will fit but its going on there!)
keep up the good reviews!

We hung out all day at Epcot and headed to our 5:45pm ADR at Tutto Italia.

DSCN1000_0237_237.jpg

This was the one ADR that was on the top of the kid's list of re-dos. It was also the test for me. We ate here on our last trip but towards the end and the verdict was still out on it.

We got there a little early. Skye had been napping in the stroller so had to be woken up so she was a little crabby. There was no one else in the lobby. The host was perfect. He greated us like he had been waiting just for us. He cheered Skye up and sent the hostess to find us a table.

We were seated in the center section of the main dining room at a round table for at least 4 or 5. It was nice to have the extra room.

(oh, how I hate it when I forget to turn the pictures!)

Tutto Italio does not put the waiter's name on the receipt so I don't know his name but he was great. He appropriately flirted with Skye and made her feel special and he did not call Tyler a girl. He was making points all over the place. He took our drink orders and our cups were always full. Another server dropped off our bread and our starter plate.

The kids had the mozzarella sticks and we forgot to ask for them with the sauce on the side. He lived.

These are really good and fresh. They are about the size of a golf ball...so it is a really good sized appetizer. If we were paying out of pocket, I think the kids would share one.

I had the fresh mozzarella.

This is so good. Skye even decided she likes fresh mozzarella (she even asks for it at the deli sometimes at home now!) here. It was also a huge appetizer and could be shared (although not by me and Lou because he does not do cheese like that and no tomatoes like that either!).

Both of the kids had the spaghetti and meatballs. ty had the sauce and meatballs on the side but Skye got it all ready made up.

They both ate most of it. I tasted it and the pasta, sauce and meatballs were great. The meatballs are veal. The kids do not eat ground meats, yep, how I wish I could get even one of them to eat a hamburger! So I did not even mention it to them but I did eat one of them with my meal since it was meatless. It was really good...and I do not normally eat veal...in fact, I am not aware that I ever have before this.

I had the Canelloni al Forno (baked with spinach, ricotta, bechamel and parmesan cheese).

DSCN1005_0232_232.jpg

There were two large, over stuffed cannellonis on the plate with the sauce underneath it. Oh my goodness...as much as the lasagne was not my favorite choice last time, this was the best! I absolutely loved it. It was creamy and flavored well. It was cooked perfectly. I could go for a plate of this right now!

All this time, we were taken care of by our waiter and two other waiters kept coming by also to make sure we had everything we needed. For some reason, this did not bother me. Normally, it would. But they did not seem to come when my mouth was full. They did not linger long if nothing was needed. They acknowledged the kids also and talked to them and not just with me...which goes a long way with me. They were great!

For dessert Skye had the chocolate gelati.

She loved it...it is more creamy that regular ice cream. And it was a huge serving.

Tyler had the Spuma di Cioccolato (chocolate mousse).

DSCN1010_0227_227.jpg

He loved it. I did too. It was a great kid's dessert. I would order it!

I had the cannoli. Now I am not a huge cannoli eater but have had it before. For some reason, I was in the mood today.

DSCN1011_0226_226.jpg

Oh my goodness! This was the biggest and absolute best cannoli I have ever eaten! I don't know "real" cannoli but if this isn't it, it should be! It was awesome!

We were also brought out a birthday cake with a candle. Maybe it was a chocolate torte.

Like we needed more food! A bunch of wait staff gathered to sing birthday wishes...I blushed I'm sure. This was really good too! Oh how difficult it will be to choose dessert in the future.

We were there for about an hour and a half. We had a great meal and a fun time. Everyone was wonderful. I am going to assume that our first visit on our last trip was iffy because we were at the end of our trip and stuffed and tired. Because, this place is awesome. It is very expensive though. On the dining plan it is a great choice becasue of the high cost and great food and service. I hope they do not go through with the original plans for this to be just temporary...so far so good! Our bill was $92.13 and we used three meal credits. We had no problem leaving a $20.00 tip.

On the way out the host greated us again as if we were his best friends and everyone at the front dest said good bye.

We will most definately be back even if we are paying out of pocket!

You know, I figured it was not worth getting all upset about. We were is a pretty good seat when we finally got seated. Normally, I would have crabbed up a storm but I guess I was just in a better mood for some reason. Not like me usually...normally I am the "glass half full" kinda gal!

It is funny you say that about the clothes becasue every time we are out and someone calls Tyler a girl, I say I cannot believe people can not tell. I mean, you've seen pictures. Skye is always dressed extremely girley and cute. Why in the world would I have two girls and have one dressed all cutsie and all but the other one dressed in boy's clothes...I mean the clothes he wears (even the few pink shirts) are boy style...looking like a boy!?!?!?! I mean even if I had two girls and one was a tom-boy, I would still not be buying her boy's clothes! It just amases me. I couldnot even count how many times he was called "Princess" in The World. Usually he makes a point of saying "I'm a boy". The other day at school, Lou picked him up and a teacher called Tyler a "she". I tell him not to worry about it because as cute as he is, he'd make an ugly girl. And believe me...he's all boy!

So glad you liked Tutto Italia. DH and I were thinking of eating here in October and you may have just sealed the deal! Thanks :thumbsup2

Ppor Ty, I'm not surprised he was so mad over that Coral reef experience. I would have been pretty mad too - and not sure I would have held my tongue. All credit to him for not acting bratty :thumbsup2

The meal at Tutto looked incredible - it makes a refreshing change to see something different for the kids meals.
