Hi all....

Dawn, I'll be thinking of you...if I can do anything let me know. Jonathan had reflux issues. I used rice cereal to thicken the formula...I felt like a mad scientist trying to come up with the right consistency.

June...in my whole family's thoughts and prayers! If we can do anything for you, please ask.

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!

Jonathan comes home tonight...guess I have to go buy some food...just don't see him buying into the whole soy thing.

For the dieters on the board...I am having very good luck with Revival Soy Bars. I use them as my breakfast....I couldn't find them in any stores around here, so I ordered the from drugstore.com. I have made the 28 pound mark this week...so I am very excited!!

Congratulations that is great. :cheer2: :woohoo: Keep up the good work.

I know you'll be glad to see Jonathan. I've been snacking on roasted soy nuts. They seem to be really helping my weight loss too (4 pounds this week!). where are these soy bars in the grocery store and are they nasty tasting?

Great job Denise.
I should find some roasted soy nuts I use to eat fresh roasted ones when I was younger because a friend's family grew them on their farm and they always had them and I was there often.

We're going to have to eat out if I don't get to the store, the fridge has an echo

I was thinking along those lines too. Delivery is my choice though! (Of course, that's because I don't have a car right now.)

Still coming down in bucketsfull... and the wind has actually picked up a bit. Bob and I just went out and bungeed all the lawn furniture together and also bungeed the trash can to a post in the yard!

The water is still slowly seeping into the patio door track, but since I know it is coming in there I am keeping on top of it.

Good luck with this!

OK... I just spent WAAAAAAAAY too much time on that Celebrity Look-Alike site. Depending on which photo I used I look like very different people. My favorite was Faye Dunaway and Eve Longoria (that was with the picture from the Boston Duck Tour). But this is the one I saved and have chosen to share with you. :rotfl:

Elin,

We have like no rain right now. It has rained all day but just a steady rain. No downpour and the winds have yet to get too high. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't get much worse.

Our house flooded, 5 feet high in the basement, with Isabel in '03 at high tide in the middle of the night with the storm surge, it was between 8 and 12 feet high.
They are calling for a 3 to 5 feet storm surge.

Hey everyone

Just thought I would stop in and thank you all for the well wishes and prayers

I have been having full blown anxiety attacks all week and actually begged Steve not to drive to the hospital - I told him I was going to tell them I ate a HUGE breakfast and might be pregnant to avoid surgery - my nurse was laughing and said to me at one point - "you do realize this is elective surgery don't you?"

But don't worry - once the gave me my "happy shot" it was smooth sailing - I was out for about an hour and left the hospital about an hour later - I came home and slept all afternoon and now I contemplating dinner -I have felt pretty nausous and walking in the house made me throw up but I have taken some phenergan and I am getting pretty hungry -

the doctor told Steve he was able to fix it and it was pretty bad and definately needed to be fixed - and I should be back to new pretty soon - I have 6 weeks of physical therapy

I got a shot of mrphine at about 2:00 at the hospital but I haven't needed any more pain medicine yet - I am sure I just jinxed myself - I am so exhausted - I might just go back to sleep!!!

Congratulations on the weight loss Kristine! You are really doing great. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately I have gained back some of what I lost earlier this year, so I need to get in control again. But I have a week of free Disney Dining coming up, so I know that won't help.

I ate all the food I wanted at WDW on the free dining plan and still lost .6 lb. It is possible to lose at WDW and eat anything you want. I just made sure to take stairs insteads of elevators but you will be walking alot there, so that helps.

:cheer2: Glad to hear the outcome of the surgery is positive. Here's :wizard: that you will be good to go once you are all healed up. Make sure you stay on top of the pain meds though. We made the mistake of letting Emma not have pain med after her tonsil/adenoid surgery and she was miserable until we got another 2 or 3 doses in her.. I know that knee and tonsils are so completely not related but you get my point, right :confused3

Kate,

good to hear from you already! So glad it was a success. Take your pain meds around the clock. By the time you hurt, it will be too late for the meds to work quickly. For the 1st 24-48 hours we tell patients to take them on a regular schedule whether they think they need them or not, and then as needed after that. Make sure to eat with the pain meds so you don't get nauseous again.

Rest up and feel better soon!

Denise-

Your picture is just so cute....I have never heard of spirit days until this thread(learn something new everyday). Do they wear school colors every Friday?

How's the smiley stickers going?

Shared brain :goodvibes

Why weren't you Emma's nurse? They told me that since she was complaining in recovery that she shouldn't need them. I was ready to hurt them after trying to get the meds in her for 4 hours straight!

Kate-

Sounds like the surgery was a success!!
Don't try to do too much, too soon!!

I love that perhaps I should make it my avatar as I don't currently have one. Nope, I'm to nice so I won't but I really like it.

Notice I didn't remove the picture from Tammi's post. :teeth:
