And this is new? I'm constantly oblivious to what's going on. I'm going to blame it on the fact that I'm on the west side of the US, so the time difference makes it more confusing. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Seriously, DH is always teasing me that I'm constantly one step behind. Oh well, there are worse things, right?
Well, I know when I am getting ready to put the kids to bed and you say you are putting dinner in the oven, it throws me for a loops sometimes too! :teeth:

IMMEDIATE PRAYERS NEEDED PLEASE!!!

Dawn just called me. Caroline is in the NICU, because she choked on her spit-up this afternoon to the point she couldn't breathe and had a seizure. Luckily, she and Dawn had just been to the doctor, so they rushed back and he stopped the seizure. She's had a spinal and she's about to undergo an EEG. So far everything has come back positive, so they're praying the seizure was a result of her lack of air. Hopefully Caroline just has an extreme case of reflux, but they won't know for a few hours yet.

I will keep you updated as soon as I hear anything else!

Oh my goodness! I hope that there is a very positive update coming. When Laura was in the hospital nursery, she choked on her spit-up. The nurses told me that I had to watch her carefully. I was scared to death, and it wasn't as bad as what Dawn and Caroline are going through, so she must even be more worried. I will definitely say a prayer for Caroline, Dawn, and family.

There's a new baby in the family! Maxwell Carson was born this afternoon and was a *healthy* 9lbs 11oz! ( :scared1: Should I mention that mom is 5ft6 and skinny as a stick when not pregnant? :scared1: )

Congrats!

I'm impatiently waiting for Dawn to call back with an update, but meanwhile I found a picture that is making me do this :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Marti! Where was that photo taken?

(Though I'm sure this was answered long, long ago!)

Christy (i) -- please let me know how to spell your name so I don't always feel like I am wrong!

Yes ma'am!! I think that it was one where Disney really missed the boat, book to movie wise. They needed to put the team that did Holes on it!!

We read CinderEllis and the Glass Hill....it started my obsession with Gail Carson Levine. She has one for a bit older kids (not based on any fairytale) called The Wish, very good.

The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants is another good series, of course they aren't award winners :confused3 , but good discussions still came out from the compare and contrast!!

I've wondered about the Sisterhood. We never saw the movie, and I haven't read the books. Maybe I'll do that before Christmas, so I'll be able to make an educated decision. Thanks for the suggestion.

What is the Zizzingler code trick? We always seem to get packages with only two. I've looked at the code on the back, and all the packages seem to have the same code...of course, I'm probably looking at the wrong code!

On the back, in the upper right hand corner, is an embossed number. If the last number is a 1 then there are 3 in the package. If it's a 2 then there are 2 in the package. That's what I read on the community board, and it's worked for us.

I get the same feeling when you say you have to get lunch for the kids. I'm usually just finishing up the breakfast dishes!

Now that's what I thought you meant... got very confused by the baby talk :goodvibes

You mean you simply thought I just meant "I have more important things to buy than a TV show on DVD"? Apparently you and I communicate very differently than these other crazy ladies! ;)

I didn't mean for it to invoke such a reaction! :rotfl:

Congrats Christi!
OMG I was just trying to catch up. I will go back and add a smilie.
And thanks I don't think I have ever gotten one. :)

It's amazing to me that more school libraries don't do this! When/if I ever get my own school library, you can bet I'll be pushing those books over the fluff that seems to be pushed on kids these days. At Katie's old school, the librarian prominently displayed "The Goosebumps" series and books of that kind. She said that kids asked for those and she got tired of showing them where they were. I'd rather have a huge, gorgeous display of award winning books, and try to get kids excited about them.
:thumbsup2 I agree. It sounds like she forgot the reason she became a school librarian. (Hopefully because she wanted to pass a love for a good book on to the next generation.)

Have you read the Princess Diaries? If not, a warning, there is very little the same between the books and the movies.

We'll survive! I'll just plan our trips to the library for Saturday instead of Friday. That way all 4 kids can come. They love that, and it eats up a good hour or so. More if we get there for story/craft time! They have a great program for kids that are preschool through 3rd grade. A story, craft and treat that all tie together. It is fun, and my kids love it. Katie will just choose a book, go into the reading room and plop into a beanbag chair, and I won't hear a peep out of her until it's time to go home. She's like me, that way. Give her a good book and she's a happy camper!
I was like that as a kid and it drove my real dad nuts. He was driving us to see the redwoods and I was reading the whole drive there. I always had a book with me in case I needed one. :)
