Hi! Yes, the kids spent 12 WEEKS in the NICU. It was not a fun time in our lives at all. We had open house last night for the parents. It went very well. The room looks great. I have one more Disney set of signs to print and hang. Kids come tomorrow am for meet your teacher time. I've been working around the clock. I actually have a day off today, so I'm in bed and about to take a long nap.

BTW, I'm only 5 pounds from my first goal weight! Hopefully will make it by our trip in 3 weeks (and then eat like crazy at WDW!). John is down 25 pounds and looks great.

How are you doing? How did preschool go for the girls last night?

PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of both the room and you and John!! Congratulations on the weight loss. I wish Kyle and I could get serious about eating right and exercising!

The second edition of the WDW Trivia book - both editions are great! For passing the time on the plane and doing quizzes etc.

And the passporter's treasure hunts... which isn't one you can read at home but has a ton of treasure hunts to help you "stop and smell the roses" while you're in the theme parks. I can't wait to do them this year :goodvibes

I got Treasure Hunts, too! I can't wait to do them! I didn't get my email about the Trivia book being released finally, I think I'll need to go look for it! I absolutely loved the first!

That's the same thing I thought! Yea, it was a hard read at sometimes trying to keep names straight; but boy was I suprised at finding about the cast members vote?!?

I think it was definitely hard keeping names straight! Very informative and interesting though!!!

Go Glynis!!!!

We would love to have them in a link.

Ok. I have a goal, now! I promise I'll work on it today and see what I can come up with!

Did anyone notice the Marathon clothes on disneyshopping? Just in case, Old Navy has the moisture wicking shirts/shorts/pants on sale right now if no one is willing to pay $42...

speaking of Alan,
how did the meeting go with the client.

Not as bad as we feared. They were very understanding about it. Alan will give up the next few weekends (read: Glynis will be alone with the children for the next few weekends) so that he can re-shoot the material and get the project done (again).

Thank heaven the clients are laid back kind of people. It could have been much worse. The worst is that we won't be charging for the re-shoot, so that's time and money lost, but at least it's not a client lost! Gotta think positively.

Thanks for asking!

Thanks for your input ladies. I called Dawn's cell about a half hour ago, and it immediately went to voice mail. I told her they were all in our thoughts and prayers.

FYI: After naptime (around 4 p.m.) we're going to the aquarium and out to dinner, so if Dawn calls in that time frame, I won't have computer access.

I know it's been forever, and half of you probably have no clue who I am, but for those that remember me. Check out the new signature line at the bottom.

Congratulations Mac and Mrs. Mac!!!! How is Princess Mya?! I think of you guys often. Thanks for popping in!!! :goodvibes

But Jen does :)

Glynis - go to www.blogger.com and set up a blog. It's a very user friendly site to use, you just pick a name for your blog and a template and then you can post each recipe using the post new message function - which is just like the message box here on the DIS (but without the smilys unfortunately).

Then you just add a link to the blog in your signature.

If you go to my Autographs link in my sig you will see the blog I set up for that - and Jen used one for her house pictures :thumbsup2

Very cool. I think I'll work on that, today! Thanks for the help. Maybe I'll name a recipe after you!

All caught up...

Now I need to decide what to do with my day... be constructive and tidy the junk that's appeared in my study ready for lessons starting at the end of September...

or stay in my pjs and enjoy my day off watching tv and DISing...

Oh and reading the two new Disney books that arrived from Amazon bright and early this morning.

Oh what's a girl to do :teeth:

What books arrived? I would definitely vote for the books over anything else!!!!!

There's actually a third drink to throw in the mix, diet coke with Splenda. I think it has some yellow in the label. Just to make things more confusing

Yes, here it is. I think it tastes like garbage. But that is, of course, just my opinion :teeth:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! That's the biggest coke can I've ever seen. I would resize it (and still may) but I have to keep it that way for a little while. The screen I saw it on (after linking from google) was much, MUCH smaller than that. I'd say a fourth of the size. Apparently the full file is much larger.

I literally laughed out loud though when I saw that post (I'm easily entertained), so I think I'll leave it for you all for a while. :lmao: :rotfl:

ETA: How impressive was that picture though?! Nice and clear! Here it is in a much simpler form, in case it was so large you couldn't even really see it.

You know, because this is such an important topic in the first place

What a fabulous idea. Smart librarian, I would say!

I agree! They make it a very big deal. She started this just about 10 years ago, and there are only a handful of students that have accomplished this. The principal is really pushing it, and plans assemblies to honor those students that reach the goal! Katie really wants her name on that plaque. I'm happy to help her. The town library we go to is really helpful. The children's librarian has pulled all the Newberry award books and they are placed together along one wall, so all Katie has to do is head for that wall and she's set.

But Jen does :)

I was just waiting for a volunteer. ;)

But there's always the chance Dawn will call the house and not my cell, so I just wanted to give you a head's up. :)

I didn't get a chance to post earlier, but I think you did the right thing. She knows we care and was probably VERY grateful to hear a friendly voice. She could be in a no-cell phone area, in a place with bad cell coverage, or many other scenarios already mentioned.

I hope you all have fun at the aquarium and dinner. I'd love to see some pics of the outing when you get the chance to post them. hint, hint
