For our upcoming trip, I am going to be flying into San Diego, as the airfare is almost 50% less compared to LAX. We are going to get there about noon, and I figure we will be in the rental car and on our way by 1:00 P.M.

Would it be a good idea to spend the day at Sea World before driving into Anaheim? I figure we would have roughly 8 hours on a Monday afternoon\evening in June to spend there.

Would it be worth it, or not?

I was at seaworld on our last trip. we would go again. the shows are amazing. There were certain shows we wanted to see, and there is a schedule. so I would suggest you check the schedule in advance, and if there are shows you want to see in the late afternoon, then go. they also have some good rides.

if you plan on doing DLR, SeaWorld and Universal, then I suggest you check out getting a southern California citypass.

They don't stay open very late. I don't think you'd get in more than 5 hours. That being said, we can be very happy with 5 hours there.

My personal advice would be to skip Seaworld entirely. It is not an ethical place. If you want to see animals, the San Diego zoo may be a better option.

Everyone has a choice, but I highly encourage everyone who is thinking of going to Seaworld to watch a film called "Blackfish". Everyone deserves to know the truth behind what that place is really doing.

This is coming from somebody who has been to Seaworld before (in the past) because I love orcas so much, but I will never go again, knowing what I know.

Right on. Have you seen "Blackfish"? I cried throughout the entire film. It's gut-wrenching.

No i have never seen the film. But last time we went my little girl at age 5 said..."Daddy lets go i don't want to stay here". I could feel the poor animals spirits crying out for some one to help them. What did that great animal of the sea do to get them into a place like that?..Most of those sea animals in tanks never live over a year and they have to go get more. It just makes me cry.

I wish more people were able to feel that way. There are just too many people out there that don't care, or are afraid to care, or don't want to know the truth. If you have a chance, I highly encourage you to watch the film - this film is the best thing out there to try to get other people to change their minds on seaworld by knowing the truth about what is going on behind the scenes. These are not smiling shamus. They all have names and histories, and using the stage name of "Shamu" is their way of hiding just how many orcas have died in their hands. These animals are living a life of hell, just so Seaworld can make money and people can be "entertained".
