The Darlings Caved Already! A Sept. '12 PTR -- Sept. 26 - TR link posted!

Oh My! What a saga trying to get that room! Oy! But you got it YEAHHHHHHH! :cool1::cool1::cool1: That is SO cool! I really, really want to stay there!

Glad the dieting and exercise are going semi well. The exercise will make you ache all over and feel like crap. MOTRIN! Stick with it. I am sure you will see results!

I really can't wait to see pictures of the room and resort. So excited for you!

Good morning Mary Ellen, my ninja poster of the day! You posted at the same time as me. :goodvibes
I'll be sure to write a full report of the resort so you can decide to go there sometime! :thumbsup2 I can't wait!
It may sound dumb, but I never think of taking a pain killer to help with the pain after exercising! :confused3 I really hate taking things, no matter what it is -- Tylonol, Advil, Aleve, etc. they seem to all make me feel really groggy and spaced out. I guess that's what I get for hardly ever taking anything! Zero tolerance. My mother is the same way. Benadryl makes me high as a kite! But I need to bump up my exercising and if it kills me later why should I suffer through it? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Great ADR line up! Love that you are eating at Kona and trying Tonga Toast, Le Cellier and Boma. Can't wait to hear all your dining reviews! :thumbsup2

WOOHOOO on finally securing a Little Mermaid room at AoA!!!! :dance3: :yay: Can't believe what you had to go through with your TA...am def booking direct on my next holiday.

I'm excited for Kona! I might do a Dining review. Haven't quite decided yet.
Yes yes, by all means book directly through Disney! It would be so much better to have full control over your trip!

Hi, I'm joining in. I just read the whole thing. My husband and I are going in September too! We'll be at POP on the 23rd through the 28th. Your adrs look great. Don't know if you found this out yet, but Paradiso 37 is on the dining plan this year. They added all of the DTD restaurants onto the plan this year. :yay:

Hello, and :welcome: !! Thanks for stopping by!
I didn't know that Paradiso is on the dining plan! I hadn't heard that. That's great! I don't think we'll use our dining plan for that meal since we just wanted to split some nachos or something, but it's great for the future!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Here in the Cape we had some absolutely wonderful, unseasonably warm weather. Yesterday continued the trend, reaching a high of about 20 degrees! (68 f) I spent most of the weekend landscaping and getting a truckload of hay. I managed to pull a muscle in my foot and can't put any pressure on it. :( No running for me the past few days! And just when i was doing so good.

Last year to count down to my Disney trip I made a list of all my Disney movies and set out on a mission to watch them all. I almost made it too. This year I want to do something a little different and watching some Disney movies that I've never seen before!

I'm going to need a list and then I'm going to need to beg, borrow, and steal. How then does one make a list of the unknown?

I need your help!

Please tell me your favourite Disney movie that's not too popular. You know, not like The Little Mermaid or Up or The Lion King or ones like those. The slightly obscure little gems, or the older and forgotten movies, movies that some places in WDW refer to but no one really knows it. Things like that.

There are a few popular ones I haven't seen too, I'm out to broaden my Disney horizons!

I'll start.

My first movie I'm aiming to see is:

Snow_White_and_the_Seven_Dwarfs.jpg

I've seen it only once and a long time ago. I need to be well versed in the classics if I'm going to call myself a Disney lover!

Now it's your turn!

Re: obscure Disney movies... this idea sounds like fun! Here are a few I can think of:

The Great Mouse Detective
Oliver & Company
The Fox and the Hound
The Sword in the Stone
Return to Oz (if you're looking for a live-action one, not just cartoons)

Hmm...obscure Disney movies...

The first one that comes to my mind is Wall-E. You can't find much merchandise around the park, despite it being a more recent movie. It's actually one of my favourite Disney movies, but it doesn't seem like it's very popular for some reason. :confused3

The Sword and the Stone was a really cute movie I watched just a few weeks ago. It seems like that's another one that could make your list.

I feel like Fantasia is also one of the more obscure ones as well. I've never seen it, but it's on my list of Disney movies to see.

I can't think of any others at the moment...but have fun having Disney movie nights! :goodvibes

Joining in. I'm happy that you got to change your resort. I hope it will be everything that you imagine it to be. My DD and I will be at the CBR 9/22 - 9/29/12. This is our first WDW trip and we can't wait!

My favorite Disney movie is Swiss Family Robinson, the 1970s version. Didn't they remake that a couple of years ago? Not sure about that.

Any of the older 1960s movies tend to be good ones. I loved Summer Magic, The Happiest Millionaire, In Search of the Castaways. For animation, my first movie was The Rescuers, and I have loved it ever since. Oh, and if you haven't seen Bedknobs and Broomsticks, you should watch that. :thumbsup2

Those are great! I've only seen one (The Fox and the Hound - a LONG time ago!) and will definitely add them to the list. :thumbsup2 Thanks!

I adore Wall-E! You're right, it is fairly obscure. It's one of my favourites too, I'm always disappointed in the lack of merchandise.
The Sword and the Stone is exactly the type of thing I'm looking for! :thumbsup2
I have only seen bits and pieces of Fantasia. Another good one!
Thanks!

:welcome: aboard and thanks for stopping by! Looks like we'll overlap by a day. I hope you have an amazing time! Are you writing a PTR? Let me know, I'd love to follow along :goodvibes
Swiss Family Robinson - another great one for my list! I've never seen it before. Might make me more interested in seeing the Swiss Family Treehouse in MK! :thumbsup2

Awesome, you guys all rock! I've never seen any of those. The Rescuers is one that every time I see the name I think; "I've got to watch that!" Maybe now that I'm making a list, I'll actually get to it. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Hear ye! Hear ye! I have some news!

I have a new [old] job!

Allow me to explain. This is the very shortened version.

I work at a camera store. We recently moved from a small store in the mall to a big old building with a studio. I thought we had great potential but nothing was ever done. Hours were cut and I lost most of my job.

Before deciding on a Disney trip this year, I knew I had to find a new job. We figured that if I got a job, we would book Disney.

We booked Disney anyway. :rolleyes1

I've been looking on the job sites, searching around and there's nothing at all around here. I can work in a fast food place or clean hotel rooms 3 hours from home, and that's about all there is.

"The problem," I said to Johnny "is that I don't want a new job. I want my old job back. :sad1:"

Ding!

I could create a job for myself in the studio! Time to have a talk with my boss. Ironically, he called me in for a shift today. One of the two full timers is on vacation and today is the other guy's day off, meaning it would be just me and the boss. A perfect time to have a chat.

I walked in to work this morning chest puffed out, chin high and very confident that it would go well. So how did it go?

Ah-MAY-zing.

I didn't even have to talk to him! He brought it up to me!

"Hey Wendy, what would you think of doing pet portraits in the studio?"

Pet portraits!? Only my absolute favourite thing to do ever in the history of photography! We spent the whole day hashing out the details and figuring out pricing and everything! I'm so beyond excited! I'm bringing all my little critters in to the studio on Friday to take some portfolio shots and then I'm going to spam Facebook! If this works out, I might just have worked my way into my dream job! :woohoo:

Wow that is great news! Seems like the stars where lined up perfectly for you. Congrats :)

Also I went through my collection in search of underappreciated/not often watched Disney movies. Here is what I came up.
1. Robin Hood
2. A Goofy Movie
3. Hercules
4. Hunchback of Notre-Dame
5. Tarzan
6. 101 Dalmatians
7. Dumbo
8. Ratatouille

Ok go to my facebook, under notes, and check out my list of Disney movies I own. tell me which ones you haven't seen (or haven't seen in a long time) and I will bring them out to you. There's a starting point!

And thanks for your movie list! Dumbo is another on the top of my must-see list. I can't remember if I've ever seen the whole thing! :confused3

Bahahha I thought to myself "Funny Mims didn't say anything about the photography thing!" hahaha way to be observant. ;)
I KNOW how to drive! I don't need to learn to drive! I need to control my panic attacks so I can take the test!

Mary Poppins
Sound of Music

I saw both of these as a little girl (I think they were my first two movies ever) and I loved them. My mom said I actually stood up on my seat to watch them.

Another one of my first movies was the Incredible Journey - the 1963 version. This may have been the first movie I ever saw in a theatre and my mom felt so bad taking me (was probably 4 years old) because I sobbed hysterically when the cat almost drowned.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!on the new opportunity. I told you you are already fantastic with pet pictures. This is an awesome opportunity for you!!!!!! :cool1:

Congrats on the job front!!!:cool1:

As far as movies go...hmmm, my DH is a big fan of Hercules and Oliver and Company. A few years ago, I read the Walt Disney biography, and there were a couple movies listed at the back that I want to try and watch eventually...The Three Caballeros, Pinocchio, Treasure Island, Song of the South....
