Good Morning!

While I have a few questions I believe as long as they are answered satisfactorily then I will take the teaching position for the remainder of the school year. DH has agreed to do a bit more around the house so I will have a little freed up time.

Today:
Get papers finished for retreat and send them in today (due no later than today)
get grading done and entered so I will be ready to finish report cards
sweep floors (have DH mop)
get at least 5 more items into my craft area (I need to get enough set up that I can make cards for a raffle basket in early Nov.)
dinner- London Broil- maybe oven potatoes
begin getting things together for school raffle basket

Rebecca

Morning Rebecca - while teaching is a full time job at home too, if you both can split responsibilities, it is very doable!!
What grade? I am sure you will make the best decision for yourself - but consider all of the lives you will directly impact through your choice! I am sure those students will value all you have to offer them.
After 37 yrs, even now I look forward to going in every day. Thought after I retired 2 yrs ago, I would not miss it, but I did, and this half day teaching position offers the best of both worlds for me.
Good luck on your decision.

Prayers and pixie dust to all those in need.

Rebecca, hope your questions get answered. I have the greatest respect for all teachers, they make such a huge difference in children's lives. It truly takes a special person to take on that responsibility.:)

Sorry for being so late to the party but the boys are off for fall break so I took advantage and slept in till 9am.. (especially since DS17 works tomorrow and we have to get up by 5:15am!)

Rebecca- good luck with your decision. You'll be a great teacher for those children!
Caroline - glad your are enjoying your half-day teaching!
Cassey - have a great day!
Becky- :welcome: home. Glad you had a wonderful time.
Lisa- have a great day!

On today's agenda today:

select 2013 soccer season photos that I have been putting off for days (remember to pull my soccer sketches from pinterest to use)

laundry to basement to be done Friday while DS17 is at work
exercise 30 minutes
10 stair laps

I think that is it for me today.. It's hard to do a lot with everyone home...

I hope everyone has a great day!
Prayers and pixie dust to all in need.

I am in a sixth grade class at the elementary school (so my commute is less than 5 minutes.) I have 14 students for the whole day. I also get 2 full classrooms, a hallway, an office, and a storage closet. There is no one using the other 2 rooms in the building so if I had to send a student into one of those rooms to just cool off for a moment it wouldn't make a difference to anyone. I also have a laptop computer lab that has more than 1 computer per student in case 1 of them is dead- so at least I have a great set-up. Most of my students are below grade level in reading in math so I am working on bringing them up.

Rebecca

Rebecca - my favorite grade to teach - most of my career was in the 6th grade. Much success to you - sounds like an ideal situation - most of us would give anything for that much space and materials to use.

Congrats Rebecca!!

Our teachers would love that much room... We are at or near capacity at all our schools...even having built a new one.. LOL Someone did not think that one through well enough!!

Oh- the other teachers in the school would love that much room but they are trying to slowly move up through the grades to add the middle schoolers back in out here instead of them heading into town if parents wish so they are trying to make it the most ideal situation so parents will want it for their children.
