Welcome to Monday!! Everyone Caffeinate

I had such a great time with my hubby at the beach...except that I was assaulted by a secadia in the truck. It flew in, then made a circle and started trying to fly through me on my chest. Lil' sucka hurt like a bear too...I was screaming, and trying to get it out the window...DH had not a clue what happened, just that I was screaming all of a sudden...such drama!! I finally got the thing out of the window, and then the rest of the trip I was almost in DH's lap...skert I was I tell ya!!!

My List for Today:

Bring in laundry off the line, fold it, put another load out.
Make my lunch. DH is off this week so I know he won't be getting up early just to make my lunch.

After accosting the UPS man as soon as he arrives, bring new CM Daisy bag out to Buffy.

Clean kitchen - Did the living room Sunday and the boys room. Need to have all the dishes done though before I leave.

Poor DH had no idea what was going on. I just started screaming and grabbing at my chest... I don't think he even saw the thing... just heard it buzzing... I thought for sure it had cut me up, but I was just scratched a bit. Then I couldn't decide if I wanted the window up so one couldn't fly in again, or down incase one did and I had to get it out fast again





Nan- Hope your DsS is OK playing with the fractures... I guess the specilast knows what he is talking about...

Good morning, everyone! It's Monday, and I was desparate for caffeine this morning!!

Deb--I'm TERRIFIED of those things!! I'm sorry about your ordeal. I probably would have had nightmares the rest of the time!!

Nan--Hope DsS is ok!!

All of the SDV girls--have a BLAST!!! Tell Mickey hello!!

Lisa/Buffy--DAISY bag??? I think I may need to know what this is!!!

DH & I worked out a "plan" last night for each night of this week. We made lists of what needed to be accomplished in addition to "regularly scheduled programming" (i.e. CHORES). He's so wonderful--I got up this morning, and he had framed all of the pics for my office (something that was on MY list for today). If all goes semi-as planned, I get Wednesday evening for an hour or hour and a half to scrap!!! I'm so excited!!

Here's my list for today:

1. Up
2. Caffeinate
3. Clean up "present" cat left me
4. Clean DH's bathroom
5. DS up
6. All of DS's stuff to Mom's
7. Other stuff to Mom's
8. Work--new day, new to-do list!
9. Cards for lunch
10. Giftie for friend at work
11. Pick up DS 15 min early--Mom has an outing this afternoon--nope, she cancelled it.
12. Stop at Sonic for tea (Monday survival reward!!)
13. DH--mow14. Fold laundry
15. Wash 3 loads
16. DH--change cat litter
17. Walk with DS while DH mows
18. P365 pic
19. DH--get gallon of tea
20. Dinner--something chicken?
21. Pack lunches for Tuesday
22. Pack fruit for Monday
23. Start on Disney packing list!! Yes, it's 39 days away, but I want to make sure I've got everything on the list!!

Debbie, I would have been so freaked out!!! Of course, when I read what happened, I had no idea what you were talking about so I googled them. Oh my, that is a creepy little critter!!!!!!!

Today is the first day of school!!! They changed the start time for school this year so DS will be leaving here shortly. They also shortened the day for most students to 6 periods, but DS still wanted 7 periods so he'll still be there till almost 3 p.m.

We got a new car (actually a used new car!) on Saturday!!! Now I don't have to share my car with DS which means I won't be home most of the time car-less!!!!!!

My day:

Make DH's lunch
Get DS up and out the door to school
Laundry
Vaccuum
Checkbook & bills
Go to PO
Call car dealership to see when I need to bring car in for them to do alignment
Bake cookies for DS - it's our first day of school tradition
Finish sorting color swap and box it up ready to mail tomorrow.
Chat with DS about first day
Help DS practice for audition for play at community college tonight
Scrap

Deb - Ewwwww! They were loud here the other day. The closest encounter I had to a cicada (incidentally, on my 8th grade Washington DC trip, Buffy) was when it decided to sit next to me on the stairs and just chill there, clicking around. Gross....

Rebecca - That sounds like loads of fun...... just try to make it to the end of the week!

My To-Do list:

Up at 5 How's 6? Yay!
-Print off last papers & flight confirmations that I need
-Laminate some touring plans and LGMHs
-Call to make sure cake is all set for next Sunday - I'm just going to take my chances on this one and assume they're all set with it. I don't feel much like calling and bothering them.
-Take Amazon books to post office
-Go shopping for last few things I need
-Scrap if I get a chance.....
-Go to meeting for the Honors Council at my school (I am PO'ed at the president of this, I've been telling everyone we need to meet, and he finally told us this weekend that we're having a meeting TODAY. I let him know how I was feeling about that.)
-Go to work for 2 hours, then hopefully go home early... I'm not scheduled to work today.
-Finish packing everything
-Go to sleep!

If I don't talk to anyone before I go, I'll see some of you on Friday!

Wow, I'm so jealous of all you girls going down south! Well, kind of, I don't really like heat, but I'd deal for a few days to see Mickey. Hope you all have a great great time! Buffy! Don't forget to bring my pages please (oh, note to self, get something in the mail to thank Buffy for her hand delivery services!).

Good luck to everyone who is starting school...Morgan doesn't start until next Tuesday. It's going to be a long week. I'll be glad to get my regular schedule back. But, I'm thinking of changing it...DH isn't working a full 40 hours, so he's home by the time she gets off the bus. I could add 2 1/2 hours to Monday and Wednesday and get Tuesdays off as well as Thursdays. I'm leaning toward doing it. I mean, another full day to clean! Woot! Actually, I'd like to get myself organized enough to spend one of my days off scrapping and the other cleaning as needed. I'm hoping.

Thanks Holly! I think she was like, let's get this over with. She had anticipated it for so long that I think she was just ready to have this first day finished. I can relate and my heart goes out to her.

can i please vent for a minute......

so i rec'd my mom's security deposit in the mail and the check is made payable to .......HER! ok folks. duh. can't really sign it. sigh. and i have called about her air conditioner. where she lived she had to pay $25.00 extra in rent for june, july, august and september. so when i handed the keys in on july 31st, i asked about getting a refund on that $. not that i need it, but on principal. she said she would ask the manager of the building. ok. this is the same lady that asked for my moms new address and phone #! duh!
so fast forward to last week. i called to see if they have issued the check, because my mail has been all wonky due to construction on the street. she said they had & i should have it any day. i again asked about the a/c. she said "ya, i talked to him and he said no. k? by" and hung up!are ya kiddin' me? that's how you talk to people? so today i'm going through her stuff and putting stuff away in rubbermaid bins until i decide what i want and don't want to part with and i found the paper that spells it out. the whole a/c deal. so i just placed a call with the director of the building. the head honcho. i know his name from where i work and he signed the bottom of her security deposit check. do you think i'm wrong?? should i let it go?? i mean technically, she did not live there after may 10th. but i can see them keeping june and july's because i did not hand the keys in until july 31st. but i really think they should refund aug and sept. i mean all of her stuff was out and clean before then. right? like i said, it's the principal of it. and maybe if that lady was not a jerk to me the day i did hand the keys in, i could let it go.
please, someone tell me what you think.

I'd call him directly.. while you may not get June/July.. Aug and Sept should be refund especially if it is spelled out in the paperwork... I'd also ask him to re-issue the security deposit so it can be deposited... Do you happen to be on her checking out? You should be able to sign it if you are...but I'd ask them if I brought the check into your tomorrow, could you please re-issue the check..
So sorry they are being such pains about all this...

What a jerk. I would definately call the head honcho. I would be polite but firm, and state what happend and how you were treated. As hard as it is try to keep emotions out of it, or preface the conversation by saying I'm very emotional right now with her passing so if I get upset please be understanding. then go on to tell him the info and ask if you bring in the check if it can be reissued.

Hang in there some people are such horses rearends.
