The Daily Grind ~ 6/4/13

Mornin'!

Slept in a bit this morning but now DH is out removing some of the aluminum siding we have so that we can head to town and grab the new vinyl siding for the west side and east side of our home! We hope to have both sides done by Saturday and we'll do the back of the house Labor Day weekend.. Due to his MS we don't want to over do it so we are doing a little each day so he does not have any issues. Then plenty of rest in between the big jobs. Luckily we have 3 kids home to help so he really just needs to supervise because the kids love to help and so do I!

So, the list for today:

pull the aluminum off west wall (yes, we are recycling). all off but the peak..need to borrow friends larger ladder.
pick up vinyl siding they will deliver on Thursday (darn truck is acting up)
lunch
put up siding working on the west wall with the extra pieces we already had on hand.

I finally heard from my friend in Lancaster, they are okay! fire is on the other side of town and to the north of them, just dealing with the smoke!

Afternoon -

Been a busy morning - I've completed my list for the day and have been on and off the phone with my sis most of the morning. Dad was admitted into the hospital yesterday. The blister on his right toe turned into a diabetic foot ulcer and now a bone infection. His toe is dead and needs to be removed. Found out this morning that he also has a staph infection - crap! Surgeon will stop by later today to see if they will do surgery tomorrow or on Friday. I'm staying put for now - not much I can do while he's in the hospital. He will probably need help once he gets home so I'll go up and stay with him then. He'll have to stay off of his foot for 4-6 weeks.

OH Becky... I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad..but glad you will probably going up to help a while when he returns home... Dad's are so hard headed... hope he tells someone if he gets a blister again...

When will my DH realize that if he listens to me things will go easier for him?????? ERRRR MEN!

Boss informed me he is thinking of relocating. I will have to see what it is going to add for time to my commute. I don't think I am willing to travel an hour each way for a part-time job.

My parents are on their way here to visit. They are heading home on Thursday so I will enjoy some time before they leave.
