Rebecca - u must live close to Patrick to make your commissary trip - wish we did too! We use to have a commissary here in Homestead when we first moved here in 2006. It closed two years later and now there are MORE people at the base - go figure. Hope you find some great deals!

Nan - enjoy your short list day :)

We live about 1.25 hours from MacDill. We do a run with 3 coolers about every 3 months to get mainly meats but also to stock up on anything else that will fit in the car and is at a good price. I remember back before Andrew when I was in high school the huge commissary down in Homestead- mom did a monthly shopping trip down there at the time. My brother lives right near Patrick and I do occasionally stop there for dry goods before we leave when we are visiting. Our next trip will be in July when my ID has to be renewed so I got 14 meals worth of chicken, 4 meals of sirloin steak, 6 of pork ribs, 6 of pork chops, 3 of pork tenderloin, 7-8 of ground beef, 2 whole chickens, 3 turkey breasts, 2 hams, a couple london broils, a bunch of sausage, a couple of packs of kielbasi, and then a variety of non meat items. It is always an exhausting and expensive day but then my grocery shopping is normally under $50 per week for the next 3 months (since I don't but meat).

Booked our flights for our Thanksgiving trip this morning, had to adjust our dates a littles as I am not willing to spend over $400 each for round-trip tickets. Julia is okay with it, so I am happy.

Still need to pay a few bills, then get dinner ready and Julia off to CCD, last class of the year.:cool1:

Hope everyone is having a great day!
