Mornin'...TGIF!

Prayers and pixie dust to all those in need.
Prayers especially to those in Boston who are in the midst of the situation..

I did email with Jennifer this morning as I heard the universities in the area are on lockdown (as well as the transit system).. she is home today. The university is closed. She hopes to check in later today but is also dealing with a headache.. :flower3: feel better Jennifer.

We have received at least 3-5" of rain last night.. it poured from 6pm - wee hours of the morning.. our sump pump was going off ever 75 seconds last night... We have a little water around the joint of the basement floor and walls that I need to clean up but it didn't flood! Lots of areas are flooded though and schools closed or delayed.

We have the day off school today, built in snow day.. So DH and DS12 off to see Grandpa.

Let's see today:

take DS16 to get his haircut (Prom tomorrow)
clean up basement area ~ 85% cleaned up..we have one little area that is like a little stream and it's contained but I have towels over it to soak it up.. started the 2nd load of towels
load of towels x 2
do spring cleaning of area under basement stairwell
cut parade LO title
work on parade LO
out w/ friend for an hour or so
photograph/post to thread
type up sketch details for LOs x 3
work order #21
upload next batch of senior photos (think this is the last set which is the "trash the dress" theme)

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning, I can't say good as it is a little stressful here this morning. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is in the midst of this.

Nan, thanks for posting about Jennifer. I was worrried about her.

Still waiting to hear from DH as he is working in the city today. Need to call my brother and make sure he and his family are safe.

Cassey ~ Prayers that all your family is safe... Please let us know when you find out!

I can only imagine how stressful it is for all of those in the Boston area... I couldn't imagine....

Morning!

My prayers go out to all in Boston. My brother and SIL are safe and at home. My nephew woke up just as my brother left and so my SIL heard what was happening and called my brother before he got on the bus to head to work (of course he would have been waiting awhile since transportation isn't going today).

Today:
children's service
dinner in Lake Suzy
work on things around the house, common areas need cleaning
send in paysheets

Rebecca

DH and one brother have checked in, they are at work, buildings are locked down, no one can get in or out. Still awaiting news of older brother and his family, they should be ok but until I hear from him I am going to worry.

Morning all! TGIF!!

Prayers & pixie dust to all those in & around Boston that things remain "safe" and resolve quickly. I can't even imagine.

I haven't been around much at all as I used the Disboard app on my smartphone incessantly, however, something caused my phone to just die. It was fine one minute, then just froze & hasn't turned back on since. I miss the phone for some things, but I do feel I have more time as I am not always on it & texting is a huge bother on the circa 1999 phone I am using, so I try not to do that either.

I will swing by & update April scrap challenge thread next, then I am hoping to get some of the outside vegatation cut back before it blooms & before the weather changes again. I figure I have about a 10 minute window.:rotfl2:

DS finished English state test this week, next week brings Math. 9 weeks to go!!!!pixiedust:

Glad you have heard from 2 of the 3... Hope you hear something soon from your older brother.

The news is just so shocking...

DH and dS12 left to go to FIL's today... flood waters have closed the road that FIL lives on.. so DH is trying to figure out if they can get to the house or if he turns around and drives home...

So sorry to hear about your phone... We get laughed at all the time because we don't do internet on the phones x 5... DH and I are going to have to give in.. especially for the 4 phones (parents and 2 older kids)... I'm hoping if I give in DD will take more photos and send them! LOL Dang college kids!

Good luck to DS with his next round of tests..
I think we have another 2 weeks before our 2nd and final round of state testing occurs.

Good luck getting the vegetation cut back in your 10 minute window... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just got off the phone with my older brother, he and his family are safe at home. That accounts for everyone, I can relax a little. I am praying for a safe and quick resolution to this.

So Today:
:laundy:
Julia would like to do a little more shopping
pay bills
sort picture order that arrived
dinner hot dogs

Hope everyone enjoys today!

Glad you have heard from everyone in the family Cassey!

I hope our Boston members check in soon too.

Rebecca

Glad you were able to get in contact with your older brother...

Hoping our DISswappers are doing okay too...

Happy to hear Jennifer, Cassey and Rebecca's families are safe! such a terrible thing to be happening...prayers for everyone in the area to be safe and no more people are hurt!

Nan, good you didn't flood, hope your FIL is okay too!

stay safe everyone!

not much going on today, might get a couple LO's done, have to run a couple errands before I p/u megan at 130 (early dismissal) think we will just hang tonight!

FIL is fine... it was way before his house that had flooded... but closed the road to his house so they had to back track. They headed up North to go to the farm anyway... SMH! MEN and a 12yo!

DS16 is getting ready to go to work soon. I'm going to go grab a late lunch w/ a friend.. she's driving so I need to see if she will swing by Walmart for some boxes... we had a little water in the basement and it soaked the A/C boxes... so i want to get them cleaned up... that seems to be the only damage we have..

Our town park is closed at the main entrance due to flooding... then our softball park in the next town is completely flooded out... it's about 1/2 way up the dugout walls! Lots of road closures.. My biggest peeve is the drivers who think they can drive through flood waters.. SERIOUSLY! Get real...

Now we are under a freeze watch! :faint:

Hey Nan! We just had a contractor look at our house, lots of hail damage. DS is supposed to have his first baseball game tomorrow. Hopefully the fields dry out.

You got the hail the other night! So sorry!!! It hit south of us.. Greenwood and east so I wondered if it got you... :(

I hope little one gets to have his first game tomorrow!!! I'm hoping they cancel soccer because it's Prom night..but at least I only have to get a boy ready so it won't take long like previous years! Good luck to him if he gets to play!!

Hope work is going well...

I had to turn the TV off. It's very frightening here. Northeastern is in lock-down. I worry about the students. They completely shut down the transit system, so even if I wanted to go in, I couldn't get there without driving and since they closed the school, it wasn't necessary.

We have two work study students in my office who were volunteering at the finish line on Monday. One near the medical tent, and one about a block from the blasts. I imagine they are quite freaked out right about now. Keeping them in my thoughts. My heart breaks for the families who lost loved ones on Monday and for the family of the MIT officer that was killed last night.

I'm not "that" close to Boston or Watertown, but have friends and family who are closer. So far everyone I know is safe, keeping fingers and toes crossed it stays that way. I'm glad to hear everyone's family is safe.

So, unexpected day off...updating my Gypsy, E2, and Craftroom to attempt the alleged Gypsy linking that was released this week. We'll see!

Sorry about all the water you all are dealing with. Stay safe!

Boston never ever looks like this.

This did make me smile today :)
