~The Daily Grind~ 3/6/10

I didn't love the deceptively delicious book, Lisa (and Jackie must not have either because she hasn't e more than glance through it.)

The theory is wonderful, but a lot of the veggies and fruits she uses to puree are very high in carbs and or sugars - ie, beets, winter squash, and the recipes, while she does use whole wheat and other alternative flours, can not be considered low calorie or low carb without work.

If the whole goal is getting more veggies down your kids then it's perfect, but if you're watching your carb or sugar intake or have a diabetic in the family, be careful.

They use recumbant bikes at the gym and they're pretty easy to adjust - i'm thinking the brand might be nu-step? They're very pricey though, so you might want to check "play it again sports" or a health and fitness store that carries used stuff.

Happy day, all!

I am not wild about the book either. Trying to puree some of those vegetables was a pain in the ****. I tried the mini black and decker processor, my bigger food processor, and the blender. I think making my pumpkin spice muffins was easier, less work, and less messier.

The NordicTrack is very easy to adjust, both the seat, the tension, and the panel to read all the who ha stuff it tells me.
