Happy New Year's Eve!

The last day of the year...happy to put 2015 behind me! Not much happening today...will be home as college ranked teams #1-#4 start playing this afternoon and well into evening.

Another recording breaking temp day too, well into the mid 80's but things are supposed to change Sunday evening. Will see!

Morning chores
Make shrimp dip
Pay bills
Water my plants
Scrap
College Football
Prime Rib, Bakers, Salad and Pumpkin Pie for dinner

Heading to town for a few treats for tonight (pickled Bologna!)

Took the tree down yesterday so Christmas is over!
Prepare snacks
We always stay home on New Year's Eve and watch Red Wing hockey and eat!

This is always my toughest time missing Jim, reliving our last days with him. Saying that; we decided to stay home tonight and have a fancy dinner of filet mignon, roasted baby potato's, Brussel spouts with bacon, Caesar salad and sour dough bread.
didn't get my nap in, but slept much better last night. SOOOOO great not having pain in my feet, cortisone is wonderful!!

today:
shopping day! Megan has 3 gift cards and money burning a hole in her pocket, one return on the shirt I bought her and I have a little bit of money from my mom.
lunch out
prep dinner
eat
watch movies - got Netflix for us.

Good Morning!

Glad everyone is having a good break overall!

Yesterday we went shopping in Miami- girls had money and giftcards and we needed to pick up pieces for B's uniform.
Nancy- B didn't realize when they told her they would call her to start once they got the drug test back that it meant they were hiring her- I had to let her know- but she is excited that she will be earning money- they are putting her in bagging to start- they asked about register and she said she wasn't comfortable with that right now(thankfully we had talked about how to answer that question). She is not sure about the actual work but wants to earn money and is willing to do what she needs to do so.

Today:
lunch at Sunset Grill with a lady from church who just lost her husband- the girls are excited about going to a restaurant with a pool to play in before/during/after eating.
do New Year's traditions- I need to get a notebook for them- my family always got gifts to help us grow on New Years- this year we are getting some games to play as a family to grow together. We also make a list of the best and worst of the year before, list major prayer requests for the following year, and normally try a new food- not sure about that this year but we will see. They have tried many new things in the last months with us and even in the last week with our family Christmas traditions.
play some games together- I think the girls will really enjoy the selfie game we got at justice yesterday- it is similar to apples to apples but instead of matching with a random word you match a caption from your hand to the selfie the person took for that round.

Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Becky - put the fan outside and send some of those temps towards me!!! It's not bad but it's cooler than we have been (35 yesterday was the high but after 40-50s it was cold!) Game day!! We watch games constantly.. if it's not football; it's basketball. Yesterday one of our games we wanted to watched was blacked out..
Lisa - sounds like a great meal! We always stay in and have family time on NYE. Too many fools out trying to be even stupider than they normally are thinking they can handle things!
Rebecca - how cute of B! She will do great and kudos for her to be honest that she wasn't comfortable with the register to begin with. The selfie game sounds interesting.. let me know how it goes..
Chae -- have a great NYE!!

To do:

prep snacks for tonight (BBQ weenies; fruit tray; veggie tray; cheese and crackers)
prep dinner
pull journaling cards for kids to write down 3 wishes for the New Year for 2016 family album.
upload photos for 2013 family album (tried digital; I just can't get into it... maybe a few select pages but I just can't get the groove of doing it... )
shred old paperwork 3 hours today (split it out between several of us throughout the day -- goal to have it all done by tomorrow)
spend time with the kiddos and DH
