Gah, I woke up with a headache, I think there's a storm-a-comin'. I've got a sore throat too, so it could be a cold-a-comin'.

Princess and I are having a fun morning. We're going to see The Princess & The Frog. They were handing out cards for free movie cash at The Disney Store so hey, her ticket is free. I'm planning on going to the theater in Millbury, which just happens to be next to a Mike's (one I haven't priced the Martha punches at), so we'll do some shopping too. There's also a Barnes & Noble (I heart B&N), a Target, Coldstone!, and a Paper Store. We'll do some shopping and go to the movies.

I need to get to the grocery store, so we'll probably do that on the way home. DH wants to make a ham tomorrow and I need cream for my coffee!

Don't know what we'll do for dinner.

I finally got all the Christmas decorations down!!!!! The bare tree is still up, but DH & DS will get that taken down today.

Welcome in New Year - I'm sure I'll be doing that tomorrow morning as I know I won't still be awake at midnight

DIT I'd love to have xmas done but with a 20' tree it's all hands on deck for that puppy!! I think it will live a few days longer than normal in here with the weather report sounds likt Tom will be out plowing.

Today and tomorrow are our annual "Money Days."

DH and I sit down and do our net worth update - review progress on investments, savings, and annual spending goals. (I sat last night and did the first cut on our 2009 taxes, based on DHs last 2009 pay stub.)

We do the net worth review several times a year, but this is the annual BIG one and it does REALLY help us evaluate progress on saving, not spending. As I mentioned before in an earlier post, we made great progress in 2008, from 2007, and were able to save/invest 32% of our 2008 income. Thanks to the little hobby of scrapbooking I picked up in 2009, and the associated spending (cough...cough...), I don't think we'll hit that target again this year, but it will be interesting to see how close we get.

We draw up a spending big ticket "wish list" - with the relevant costs associated with each item - each New Year's and refer back to it frequently during the year. Vacations, car needs, house remodeling, kid/adult toys and desired splurges, etc. go on this. We have a pretty good handle on our household's day to day costs and regular budgets for everything else. We didn't get to everything on our 2009 wish list - and that's perfectly ok - some things may get pushed to the 2010 list and some just drop off.

We also have a big movie marathon scheduled for later today - lots of great movies from the library - Kung Fu Panda, Up, Night at the Smithsonian, The Bucket List, etc. Should be lots of fun!

365: order prints, set up pages, list of needed embellish (kids have looked at this 2 times a day since I brought it upstairs, giving me ideas for embellish)

2010 Album: pull month pages from swap
Photos: order, order, order, order, order, order
Clipart: find sheet music for Dec Daily book (?)
NYE grocery run (more snack foods, DH is a pain!)
Tutoring session 2-4pm

Now to go clean up the laundry room floor. Mr. AWM decided to move the dryer. I swear he makes up stuff just to get me to clean.

Need to cut out my swap stuff today before the crop tomorrow. Was going to do that this morning, but had to get Little Bit before the weather turned real bad.

It's really snowing here. Our morning did not go anywhere near as planned. The theater in Millbury would not take my ticket and they couldn't get anyone on the phone. So, we did a little shopping over there (Mike's had Maaaaaaaaatha punches, but they were not 70% off. I tried playing dumb, but they didn't fall for it). I did find the heart punch around the page set and used a 50% off coupon. They have a lot of cute Martha stuff for VD.

We went to Target and found the baby blankets at 75% off, so that was a good deal ($3.74 each for adorable Christmasy blankies!) one for Sophie, one for us.

Grocery store was a freakin' nightmare! OMG, what a PITA. But, we're done and going to go to the other theater now.

that word started here much earlier than we thought so I was out with Mom and her CRV (which I hate) Spent the entire 30 mins+ ride home wishing for my big truck. All the NY cars and a few MA cars were sliding off the roads and I had an old man that was horn happy behind me so close I couldn't see his headlights. Mom and are a safely tucked in our houses and going NO Where for the next few days. I'm starting my uploading of MONTHS of pics to walgreens for the 9 cent sale.

Sorry to hear that - I must have just been lucky with my cashier and manager the other night! (Looks like the last ones I'll be buyin' for awhile....so...!)

Dinner - stuffed shells - will get cracking on these so movie night can be relaxing.

Budget stuff - eep... 2009 savings was 23% of income. During this number crunching, we noted we did have significant 2009 car repair bills, a computer replacement, and as I watched DHs eyes stray over to the scrapping area...gulp...

So, down from 32%, but let's see what we can do in 2010! Thank heavens I'm on the Ban Wagon. If I wasn't before, I'd have to be now!!!
