The Daily Grind ~ 11/1/13

All I can say is TGIF!!!

Awful wind came through about 9:30pm last night... went to look out the window and check the door.. heard a cracking noise...and a thud and roll across the roof... another thud... checked out front like I always do...and to my amazement our front tree (one section of it) has swallowed our cars.. all 3!! I think DH's car took the brunt of it.. I think minimal to no damage on the other 2....but we are going to be busy trying to get our cars out and adjusters here. Literally it was a gust of wind and no rain.... I have so many photos.. I'm so sad about this.. The adjuster did come out at midnight and look at the roofline and he said there is one shingle that is tore up but no other damage and he checked up there for a good amount of time...

I have my close friend coming by to pick up the kids and take them to school..and I can get the car from the neighbor to get DS17 to/from work if we have gotten the car out yet...but his should be the easiest to recover..

So, today's agenda:

wait for adjusters
clean up mess
get DS17's car out so I can pick him up and take him to work after school.
get DS13 home (may need to see if friend can grab him for me)..


Ok, time to get the boys up for school and get myself ready to go clean up outside.. it's going to be a long, long, long day.

Oh my Nan! Hope your cars aren't too damaged. In talking to one of my brothers who lives in southern Ohio, trick or treat was postponed until tonight because of the bad weather. For our friends west of Toronto, CA, they had no trick or treaters, too much wind and rain!

Gonna be hot and humid here today, the heat is back on!

Today:
Morning chores
Walk
Pay a few bills
Pour bleach in AC unit
Get car washed
1pm Nov. 1 Pedi Appt.
Take down Halloween décor
Put up Thanksgiving décor
Pizza and movie night with DH

we are heading to Boston today, so excited to see the Gengel's again and see other wonderful people we met in Haiti and enjoy the Be Like Brit Fall Gala our flight lands at 1000 pm tonight and we will land back here in Seattle Sunday night around 800pm, going to be a fun, quick and long weekend!

Quick check in...

It took a while but we have uncovered all 3 cars....
Adjuster thinks for sure DH car is totaled.. I'm heart broken!! just heart broken...as that was my first new car purchase.... My new van has damage but is fixable and it's mainly dings.... DS17's van.. is iffy... we just have to wait and see... it's driveable so he still has a car...but we may be sharing for a while till we can get DH a newer car.. just have to see what we find out the first of the week.. Now waiting on home adjuster to come out...

Ok, off to clean up some more before we run to get the boys and get DS17 to work and DH picks me up to come home and start cleaning up some more!

So, glad no one was hurt... We have had several family friends call and stop by.. one even offered us her extra vehicle should we need it!!! I'm so grateful for our friends!!

Thank you all for the well wishes.. It means a lot to me (us) to come on her and see my Dis sisters worrying about me!! BTW, anyone need firewood??????
