I took them yesterday, and wow the English part was extremely hard. The essay was extremely easy for me because I have a good imagination still and can make stuff up easily, and math was simple too. But I was freaking out for like a month about it and now my first time is over. So how well did you do on your SAT's and did you freak out about it, too.

uggghh Took the PSAT's last year and the SAT's in January... I HATED IT... Same here, the math and the essay were easy.. but the math problems that WEREN'T multiple choice were tough and the English part was just..... they like made up the words! I swear they did! lol

I'll probably take them one more time... uggghhh

I hate the PSAT's with a burning passion...and the english section is like Barney he makes up his own words for his online resume...lol

I'm taking the SATs in May and now I feel like I should go read the dictionary haha.

After completely loosing it on the PSAT (it was wicked hard! 99% of the words in the english portion I had never even heard of before!), I took the ACT instead. It's sooooooooooooo much easier. Almost exactly like the State standardized tests, just timed. :thumbsup2

I also got more time to take them tho, since I have a learning disability and when I took it the first time (before I knew I could get more time) I failed miserably. The minute I saw the time ticking away and the amount that they have written on the board shrink, the test material was no longer the number 1 thing on my concentration. And then I started panicking internally...and making stupid mistakes. :headache:

After I got more time tho, it was no problem. :thumbsup2

So...yeah. If you don't do as well as you wanted to this time, I'd suggest that you take the ACT next time. It is SO much easier. Really, it is. :thumbsup2

I didn't take the SATs, but I took the ACTs/MMEs.
I honestly wanted to go jump off a cliff, I was SO SO SO nervous.
English/Reading was the easiest for me, but the Math...yeah you know. lol

Hope you did good (:

i took the act.
i'm looking for a conversion right now.

i would've made a 1210 on the sat.
i'm really bad at math haha.

ah i'm soooo glad i don't have to take the SATs (English version anyway) anymore.. we finished that last year :D

but now I have the GCSEs.. gah even harder!

So far I've got 3 A's in my GCSEs :D
Which i'm happy about because I was sure I failed the Science test :P

I got a 22 on the ACT. I took it twice and got the same score. I'm not good at math but I did do better on the math portion the second time, though it didn't change my overall score. I was more nervous the first time I took it.

SAT's arent as bad as ACT's. I remeber panicking during the ACT science section, I don't think I filled out anything I was so confused! SAT's are very long but they arent too hard

I didn't put much effort into preparing for the SAT's but I probably should have. I usually suck at Math and am good at English but I did better in Math on the SAT's, so yea the English was pretty ridiculous. Overall a horrible and pointless test to base a student's intelligence off of....

I personally found the ACT's to be much easier than the SAT's. The SAT's skipped around too much. I would finally get into doing the math section, and they would make me read, and then switch back. It was too aggrivating and hard to get back to concentrating. The ACT's had longer sections, but they were all one thing so I liked that better. I also did better on the ACT's.

I am so glad I am done with all that though. :rotfl:

SAT's sucked for me. We are talking about the Year 9 SAT's, yeah?

I did the wrong paper in Science, and ended up with a level 6. I got and level 5 in English. And a level 7 in maths :)

I think the OP was referring to the SAT's by the College Board here in the US, but hey, we can discuss all standardized tests. :goodvibes

I think I did awful on the critical reading, it was ridiculous. Math= easiest thing ever. The kid next to me was tapping his leg up and down the ENTIRE TIME. I think it was a nervous tic or something, but it bugged the heck out of me and distracted me during part of the readings. I could see it out of the corner of my eye the whole time, and his sneakers kept squeaking. I preferred the PSAT's, but that's because they were easier haha. I think I might have to take the ACT's too because I don't know if I'll have time to re-do the SAt because I have to take a bunch of SAT II's.

First time around:

Math: 590
Reading: 590
Writing: 590
Total: 1770

(creepy, I know...)

Second time around:

Math: 580
Reading: 660
Writing: 710
Total: 1950

I've also taken the following SAT II Subject Tests:

French (without Listening: 590
French (with Listening): 580
US History: 630
Literature: 610
Math I: 580

I didn't think they were that bad. I had a really easy time with my essay the second time around. I had more I could write about, so I got a 10 on it. I only ever really struggle with the math section and that's just because I'm bad at geometry (and thus can't do any of the geometry problems).

AP Exams are much, much worse.

I took them last saturday...urghhh they were really long, and my proctor was a scary lady that kept on making distracting noises!

I havn't gotten my scores back yet, but hopefully I did ok!
