The convergence of everything I love in WDW! Nov 2011 PTR-p.9 updated plans!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for the robin up and away. :)

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your trip to Philadelphia. We've never been there (actually, I've never been to the East Coast).

I'm a little sad you aren't staying at Beach Club and taking pics for me, but happy you got the savings.

Glad to see you have your ADR's set; hope you get a Fantasmic package.

Yay for the Robin being released and doing well on its own! :dance3::banana::cheer2:

And another Yay for saving $300 on your package. I hope you get a Fantasmic package, I am considering doing one myself for February. One week til I can book my ADRs!

Hi April,
I am sooo far behind on yoru PTR...work is getting in the way of my social time - again!! LOL
I promise I'll catch-up...

just wanted to show you a pic of the baby turkeys!
It happens to be of their backsides...but its the only one I could get - LOL
You can see the mom leading them into the woods and I think about 11 or so babies

What a beautiful bird!!!

Your plans sound good.

As much as I love the BC, I think waterview at YC with a $300 savings is totally worth it! Plus, you know that you will have a full balcony at YC, and at BC it is a gamble.

By the way- make sure you familiarize yourself with the advice on Page 1 of the Y&BC FAQ thread. Do regular checkin (not the online advanced checkin) and before you take your keys, ask where the room is located. If it seems too far from where you want to be, ask if they have something available better suited to your needs.

I love that little robin! He is still coming back a few times every day.
I didn't realize that I might not get a full balcony at BC! Now I'm definitely happy for the switch. Thanks for the advice on check-in, too! I always do online check-in, so I will skip it this time.

My word, April, you were an updating fool. The pictures of Philly were beautiful but I was most intrigued by those of the Penitentiary. I've seen several ghosts hunting shows do an episode there. I kept finding myself looking every so closely at each picture hoping I'd spot some sort of mist or orb floating around. Imagine my surprise when I scrolled down and saw the guy in the orange jumpsuit. I almost pee'd my pants before I realized that was a prop. :lmao:

Too bad you didn't see or hear from any ghosts on your ghost tour. I so want to do a ghost tour one day but there's no way I could get any of my family members to do it with me. I might and that's a serious might, be able to talk Hunter into going on one with me. He's been to The Myrtles which is supposed to be one of the most haunted places in the United States.

Yay for Robin growing up and flying the coop. I am sure he is very thankful that you took him in and helped him get ready to be on his own.

I KNEW you would know the deal with the Penitentiary!!! I have seen Ghost Hunters investigate it. There was one or two times that I got nervous there- one was in "the hole" & the other was daeth row. I'm such a chicken! They have a "haunted house" type thing around Halloween that my friend wants to go to. I don't think I could handle that, though! :scared1:
Hey- anytime you want to do a ghost tour, I'll go! :rotfl: You know I love that stuff. We went on one in Salem, MA before that was really good, too. I wish they had one in my city.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for the robin up and away. :)

If you ever come to the New England area, I will happily be your tour guide! :)
I am DYING to stay at the Beach Club!!! My plans to stay there always get messed up. I really couldn't pass up the savings this time.
I want that darned Fantasmic dining package so badly, but it looks like I am not going to get it. I think I will try to book the latest possible ADR at one of their restaurants, though.

That is a lot of turkeys!! Thanks for the photo!
:rotfl: about work geting in the way of Disboards. It does that to me, too!

I would definitely book a ressie for one of restaurants that do the dinner package. In 2008 we couldnt get a fantasmic package, so we just did dinner at Hollywood and Vine without the package. Well, our waiter wound up giving us early seating tickets! So, you never know what you can get. :)

I agree. We booked the Fantasmic Pkg. at Mama Melrose's and it was so nice to have that pass to get into Fantasmic.

Yeah for Mr Williams flying the coop! Is he still doing his daily visits??

Love the pics of Philly...glad you had a great time and can back 'refreshed'!
That's what get-a-ways are for.

side note...I have lifetime on in the background and some unsolved mysteries show with Denis Farina (from Law and Order) is on...he is talking about a young girl that has been in a coma, but people believe she can heal and do miracles...she used to live (she passed away) in Worcester...but Denis Farina called it Wooooous-ter!
Seriously?? No one in the TV crew knew how to pronouce it correctly!!! :rotfl2:
Better than Wore - chester I guess! lol

I will try anything! I haven't seen Fantasmic in years & I really, really want to see it again! I think I will book something & keep trying for the package.

It looks like the parks will be busy that week, so I NEED to get the Package so I don't have to get in line 2 hours early. :scared1: I read online that it is "Jersey week". :confused3

Mr. Williams does still visit. I hope he figures out that he has to fly South for the winter!
That little girl lived less than 5 minutes from my house! It was such a sad story.
Don't get me started on the pronunciation of Worcester! :rotfl: I've heard it pronounced "worchester", "worsesster", "woooster"- You really have to be from Massachusetts to pronounce it right....wuhsta! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I went during Jersey Week last November, and it was not anywhere near as bad as I though it would be, from descriptions. It wasn't dead, but it was nothing like summer or holidays. I think the only rides that had longer than 20 minute waits were Peter Pan, Dumbo, TSMM, and Soarin. And with Fast Pass I didn't wait more than 15 minutes for any ride. So, plan for some crowds, but I didn't find it that crazy at all!

I was following a TR last year and one of the guys from Boston was wearing an

"Rs ah fah losahs!" t-shirt

Thanks! That makes me feel a LOT better. I was picturing summer crowds. I can live with that. I haven't visited in November in so long, that I didn't have a clue what it would be like.

OMG- Now I want that shirt!!! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: That is SO awesome. I bet only New Englanders would undertand that, though!

Hi April,

Sorry I got so far behind and am late in some of my comments.

First of all great report and pictures of Philly. I know what you mean about trying to get pics with Liberty Bell. It took our family a while and the lighting was horrible so the wait was not really that worth it since the pics I got out of it were not the greatest.

I never heard of the Mutter museum but from what you describe it does not seem like a place to bring my kids. It does seem interesting though.

Great picture tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary. I have never done that either. Were you on a guided tour or roaming on your own?

It looks like you did not make it to the zoo on this trip after all. Too bad but you made up for it by doing so many other great things!

That is a fabulous last photo of Mr Williams. It is great to hear he is learning to fend for himself.

Great news on the upgrade!! The $300 savings and room view change is awesome! I am sure you will love the Yacht Club. I am envious.

Finally, your plans so far look great! Since you already took the Wild Africa Trek in AK, which your are you considering ?

Thanks! I really wish they had a more organized & better lit area to display the Liberty Bell. It was definitely a free for all.
Definitely DO NOT take the kids to the Mutter Museum. They would have nightmares! It disturbed ME and I am a long-time horror movie fan.
At Eastern State Penitentiary, they give you a free (with admission) audio tour to listen to while you walk through. They also have many other short programs throughout the day, but we were too pressed for time to do any of them.
I'm worried about Mr. Williams because yesterday was the 1st day that he didn't visit. I hope he is doing alright.
I'm happy about the upgrade! I'm a little disappointed that I don't get check off the Beach Club on my list of resorts, though. I do love YC & I'm determined to get into the pool this year.
You will laugh at me when I tell you what tour I want to do...Behind the Seeds! I really am planning to do that one. I also want to try Backstage Safari.

Living with the Land is a great attraction! I can totally see why you would want to do the Behind the Seeds tour!

Nice Philly pictures! ESP looks very interesting & I love that fountain near the Franklin Institute. Glad to hear you had a good time.

Hiya April

I followed you over here from your last TR, which I loved, BTW. You take awesome pics! You will be arriving a short 4 days after I leave WDW! I just booked and am so excited to begin planning. May start a PTR, from the thread I have going on over in the DVC forum.

I have never been to the YC but it looks beautiful! I see your from my area - it looks like theres a few of us around here! :thumbsup2

I'm glad someone agrees!! I have tried to get people to take the tour with me in the past, but no one would go. Now that I'll be on my own, I can do it! :)

Thanks! ESP was really cool. I am definitely going back to Philly when it isn't SOO hot. There is so much more to see there!

Thanks! I'm glad you posted. Definitely start a PTR!! Too bad our trips don't overlap.
Are you from central MA, too? I'm surprised at how many people on the Dis are from the area.

I just saw that you had started a new PTR :) I'm going to go back and catch up now!

Edit: Ok, all caught up! The trip sounds like its coming together nicely. I'm glad you're trying out La Hacienda. Hope you enjoy it :) The vegetarian food I tried was delicious. I loved the photos of Coco. She's very cooperative for a cat!

Hi April,
Did you feel the earthquake?? a few people in my office did, but I didnt - LOL
I did feel motion sick afterwards!!! so I guess my body felt it but my mind didn't...I told my boss I must have been working so hard I didn't notice - lol
I heard on the radio on the way home another women said she felt sick....made me feel less like a wimp!!

ok, back to catch-up and see if you have any new plans!

p.s. The weather in Nov is nice...we went both for our Honeymoon and 10th anniversary in Nov...the nights are cool...I would usually wear jeans and sweatshirt...one trip I had to buy gloves and hat...but I find 70 degrees to be cold!
we found the crowds are very low...except over the weekends at Epcot world showcase!

La Hacienda is the one meal I will definitely keep in November. After I saw your post about the veg menu, I knew I had to go!
Coco is a good cat. She is such a little weirdo that I have been able to take some good photos of her being silly!

I didn't feel the earthquake, but I was driving at the time. Some people here felt it. I'm kind of glad I didn't because it would have totally freaked me out!! That stinks that it gave you motion sickness!
I went in November 2006 & I found the weather to be perfect for me most of the time, but a little cool at night. I'm definitely bringing a jacket & a scarf. I really can't wait to go this time. The plans may be changing AGAIN.... The resort & dates won't change, but the dining *might*. Depending upon what people get me for my birthday & on availability, I might do Wild Africa Trek again! :woohoo:
