The convergence of everything I love in WDW! Nov 2011 PTR-p.9 updated plans!

Grilling in the summer is so fun! The puppy is so cute too! And that was really nice of you and your mom to help the bird!

Thanks! The little bird has been nicknamed "Mr. Williams" by my stepfather because it is a Robin.

The corn and veggie kabobs look yummy! how long do you keep the corn on the grill....I can never get it right :(

Oh, your aunts puppy is adorable!
How great that you saved the little bird! I always breaks my heart to see animals hurt.... glad you could do something...have you dug up some worms for the bird to eat yet??? :rotfl: have fun digging!!

Thanks! Strangely, everything I have read about corn on the grill gives a different cooking time. If you soak it in water overnight (to prevent too much charring) and cook it for about 20 minutes, that should do it. I usually turn it every five minutes. I think it may depend upon the type of Grill you have, too.
Oh, man! The worms are SO gross. He has been eating every hour, too, so my yard is going to be very hole-y. :lmao:

Love all of the pet pictures. Your Aunt's new puppy is adorable. And that was very sweet of you to take the robin in and take care of it. He's growing up great!

Thanks! The robin is still doing well, too- we are trying to teach him to get his own worms at the moment. Hopefully he catches on soon. I really can't stand keeping a bird in a cage! We can't let him loose in the house because of our cats.

Hi! Glad I came over to check this out! Fantastic pictures, and you know I  all the Beach Club photos!!!

I look forward to hearing about (and will be very jealous) of your upcoming plans!

What great timing for your trip!!! So much to do!

And it looks like we will be seeing a lot of cute animals along the way!

Dee

I'm so in!!! I love love love all of your pictures. The BC looks so nice and I love the ice cream cone tables. The siamese cats are so neat to see. I've never seen real ones until now! :lmao: & The baby robin is just precious. :goodvibes
Have fun when you go to Philly, I love it there. Be sure to go to South Street and get a cheesesteak and some Phileo Yogurt if you're a fro-yo person. If not, still get it. It's that good. :)

How's Mr Williams?? you know I just got that NOW as I was re-reading your entry....DUH!! that's a good one!!!

Some more great pictures April. :thumbsup2

Hayley is adorable and love the first pic of "Mr. Williams".

One tip for taking pictures when there are bars in front like with the bird cage "Mr. Williams" is in is get as close as you can to the bars with your lens and zoom in with your lens as much as you can. It is useful at zoos also.

I'm so happy you joined in! I can't wait to stay at BC. I'm going to photograph the heck out of that place!

Thanks! :welcome: Any info you can give me about Philly would be great- this is my first time visiting. It sounds like there is a TON to see & do there. I will definitely be trying that frozen yogurt!

How's Mr Williams?? you know I just got that NOW as I was re-reading your entry....DUH!! that's a good one!!!

:lmao: Too funny! He is doing very well. I'm getting nervous, though, because he doesn't want to fly around. He wants to hang with people now!

Some more great pictures April. :thumbsup2

Thanks and Thanks for the tip! It will definitely come in handy this weekend because I think we are going to the Philadelphia zoo.

We have a family of turkeys hanging around the yard now:

I had never seen juvenile turkeys before that!
Coco (or Tiny Maniac, as I have been known to call her) has become my new model...

Nothing much exciting today, but I WILL have a mini-TR on Philly for you next week!!

Your animal pictures are unbelievable. :thumbsup2 I feel like I'm learning so much on this trip report, first the siamese cats and now I don't believe I ever saw real turkeys before! :scared1:

Can't wait for the mini TR. Glad to hear you're going to get some fro-yo! I wish there was a Phileo Yogurt in NYC, but sadly there's not. :sad2:

They have amazing museums in Philly! There's the art museum by Rocky steps where they have the Thanksgiving day parade every year. Side story but my mom works in the media so she always gets invited to it and we get to go to the VIP sections and it's really cool seeing all of the behind the scenes and the work that goes into a production like that! Of course, you won't be there for that, but I just felt like adding.

Then there's Franklin Institute Independence Hall, The Academy of Natural Sciences and so much more. Check out http://www.visitphilly.com/museums-attractions/philadelphia-museums/view-all/ if you're interested in any of that. :thumbsup2

There's so many places to shop. Philly will also be super fun for you because you love photography. There's a ton of things everywhere you go to take pictures of. :thumbsup2

I wish I had more specific things to share but I'm kind of blanking out right now. Just explore the city and you'll find plenty fun things to do. :goodvibes

Whoa! Those clouds look super creepy. I can't believe that you never ran into the storm and am glad that you didn't because it looks like a bad one.

Yay for getting a new grill. I love my grill and cook on it at least twice a week even in the Winter.

You are so sweet to take in the little robin. You know that I would have done the same thing....wait I did do the same thing. :rotfl:

Thanks and Thanks for the tip! It will definitely come in handy this weekend because I think we are going to the Philadelphia zoo.

You're welcome April. I am glad you are ok with me providing tips. All of the bird pics I just posted in my TR from the DC zoo were shooting through bars or fences except one.

I love the Philadelphia Zoo. I havent been there in a couple of years but is is a great place to see the big cats. Here are some examples to get you in the mood.

of course they have more than cats as well. You'll have a great time!

Oh and speaking of cats...great picstures of coco. Especially the last one!

I'm in! Glad I saw the link in your signature on Lisa's TR.

I love the pics of your pets. I am the same way, and I'm sure my new PTR will have a ton of pics of my pets shortly :rotfl2: Isis actually looks similiar to my Phoenix.

Bless you for taking in the young Robin. I probably would have done the same thing! And I love the pics of the Turkey family in your backyard. The only other place I really go on vacation (besides Disney) is in Southern Utah and they have wild turkeys everywhere!

Thanks for all of the info! I'm pretty sure we will go to the Franklin Institute, Mutter Museum, and Eastern State Penitentiary. I know we will do more, but I'm not sure what we will do yet. It is my friend's birthday weekend, so I'll let her choose what she would like to do. That's really cool that you get to see all of the behind the scenes stuff at the Thanksgiving Day parade! That sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for the link, too! :thumbsup2

You saved those little birds from that snake, too! Ours still won't fly. He hops a lot, eats a lot, and goes to the bathroom a lot. I forgive him, though, because he's so cute! The whole worm-feeding process is just awful, though!!
The grill is just awesome- it seems like anything tastes better grilled.
You know- a few days later another storm passed about 20 miles south of us with quarter sized hail & a funnel cloud. I can't believe how lucky we have been this summer.

Thanks! Of course I am definitely ok with tips & pointers- the more, the better! Those big cat photos are great!! In the first 3, they are looking straight at you- how did you get them to do that? I really, really want to go now!
I wanted to take a DSLR class at our Art Museum, but it is $300+. I know that really isn't a lot for a class, but it is too much for me right now. :sad2:

I'm in! Glad I saw the link in your signature on Lisa's TR.

Thanks! I'm glad you found me! I can't wait to see the photos of your pets- I went to your PTR & subscribed.
Southern Utah is SO nice! Do you go to the National Parks out there? They have some landscapes like nowhere else on earth. I loved it there.
I love that little Robin. He makes a happy little tweety noise every time he eats.

I've always wanted to go to Philly! Can't wait to hear all about your trip...and see your beautiful pictures!!
We have some baby turkeys in our neighborhood...we have only see them 2x..we counted 14!!! of course, we didn't have a camera :(
I'll be on the look-out for them with camera in hand!!

Thanks! I will probably put the pics of my pets tonight or tomorrow night. I don't have access to them during the day at work, so I have to upload them to Photobucket tonight so I can post about them. :goodvibes

It is so nice in Utah! I have been to Zion a couple of times. I am going out there again this October and am going to Bryce this time. It is like a completely different world than the East Coast. So beautiful.

You will LOVE the Philadelphia Zoo! I have not been there in a long time, but it is incredible.

No problem! :goodvibes That seems like a lot of fun. I hope your friend has a fun birthday weekend! My cousin went to the Eastern State Penitentiary before, I'd like to go someday as well. :) It is a lot of fun, another thing I love about it is that they have a tent sponsored by mostly Campbell's soup, V8 and Pepperidge farm and they have so many samples! I'm kind of going to miss not going this year - but I really shouldn't complain because I'll be at Disney. :lmao: No problem again! :flower3:

Thank you on the photos. There's another tip...if you can catch an animal when they are looking your way it is usually a more compelling picture but it obviously is not always a happening thing. It's not like you can wave at them and they will look over at you so you have to be patient and even at that it is often fruitless.

I have always wanted to take a class as well but yes they can be expensive and I think that the money is better used for other equipment :) I end up reading books instead.

Have a great weekend!!! I know you will get some great pics.

I will definitely be back to post replies & a few photos of Philadelphia tomorrow. I just wanted to let you know that I didn't abandon my PTR! :)
