Why? Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Dirk_BBVD.jpg

is playing the last weekend of the Food & Wine Festival
FW.jpg

fw1106_2.jpg

AND the Festival of the Masters (I've never been before!) occurs that weekend. My stepmom & brother are supposed to be going then, too, but they haven't told me any details. I'm going solo because my bf is a workaholic & I'm not willing to give up Disney. I'm most looking forward to the Food & Wine Festival, watching Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Festival of the Masters, Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights,
ofsl.jpg

and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
Castle_lights.jpg

I also want to do the "Behind the Seeds" tour. I wanted to do Wild Africa Trek again, but it isn't in the budget this time. I have ADRs at Le Cellier, Cape May, and Rose & Crown as of right now. I'm sure they will change when I find out more about what my stepmom & brother are doing.
In the meantime, I'll be updating schedule & dining changes on my trip, sharing photos (new DSLR), and doing mini-TRs of places I may go before November. I can tell you that one of them will be Philadelphia at the end of July. My friend(who lives in Scranton)'s b-day is at the end of July, so I found $80 round trip airfare to Philly & she will meet me there. The cost to fly is less than a rental car & gas!!! Plus I get to go somewhere I've never been.
Soooo...more details to come. I'm taking some time off from work this week. Tonight I'm going to Foxwoods casino in Connecticut & tomorrow John & I are taking Isis (my dog)

to a State Park. I'm sure I'll have a few photos to post. Sorry for the short first post, but I'll be back soon.

I'm here and looking forward to it as always. :goodvibes

A request...lots and lots of pictures of Beach Club. We've stayed CR, Poly and soon the AKL. The Beach Club is the last deluxe we have any desire to try so I need pics!

Welcome!

I promise I will take a gazillion photos there. I'll post what I took on past trips, too.

Yeah!!!!
You have a PTR!!!!!!!!! I'm so in!!

:yay: I'm glad you found me! How's the North Shore so far this summer?? Somehow all of that rain missed Worcester yesterday. We are usually the ones getting clobbered with the bad weather!

I don't have many photos from last week to post- plus, I haven't even uploaded them yet. I have a few Beach Club photos to share. You know, I was thinking of not staying at BC, but I am not going to rent a car this time. Since Epcot is within walking distance from BC, I couldn't pass it up. Some of these photos are from 2005, some are from 2010:

Hi April,
Things are good up here on the North Shore....we have been getting some really big rainstorms....they said that we should have some afternoon showers today...it looks like its going to rain any second...its funny, everyone at work was walking in with an umbrella this AM - LOL

The Beach club is soooo beautiful!!

Wow...great pictures, April. I really think we need to try BC on a future visit for a couple of days (much like we're doing AKL this year...and just hanging at the resort).

Great pictures!

Thanks!!!

I haven't stayed at the BC yet, but I can't wait to see the rooms on the inside.
I just looked at the radar & saw that the north shore is getting a ton of rain right now! It's funny that most of the state can stay dry, but you guys get the worst storms there!

Thanks!! Wait until you stay at AKL. I love that place. I think it is still my favorite for atmosphere, views, & dining.
I am looking forward to trying Beaches & Cream at BC and also to my third time at Cape May Cafe for breakfast. I am determined to have a pool day in November, too.

This is totally not trip related, but I wanted to share some past & present pet photos (I think there are some of our neighbors visiting pets, too)...
These were our 2 Siamese brothers- one lived to be 19, the other to 21:

This was Isis at 5 weeks old:

This was our lab, Daisy- she was my "model" when I was learning how to use a camera.

This is the Siamese that I mentioned earlier that lived to be 21. His name was Binky, but I always called him Mr. Binkers.

Isis after unwrapping presents, which is one of her favorite things to do (notice the little piece of wrapping paper sticking out of her mouth):

I think this was later that day:

Hi April. I just saw the like to yout PTR and I am joining in. What an awesome time to go with so many things to experience - F&WF, MVMCP, Osborne Lights among others. I am so jealous! I have no idea who Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is and I am at a loss on Festival of the Masters but I guess I will find out through you.

Great pictures so far. Isis was one adorable puppy (oh ok, still is).

:yay: Thanks for reading! Big Bad VooDoo Daddy is sorta swing music- maybe a modern take on swing. I'm just happy I can see them for free at the F&W. I guess it isn't really free- it is the price of a WDW vacation, which is actually a heck of a lot more than the $20 I usually pay to see them! :lmao: I REALLY can't wait to see Festival of the Masters. It is something I have always wanted to see, but it never happened for one reason or another. It is supposed to be an open-air art festival.

I was thinking of trying to take a photography class before November because I am SO rusty with the manual settings. There's one at our Art Museum, but it is a bit pricey.

Isis was a very cute puppy- thank goodness, because she was a HOLY TERROR when she was little. :rotfl: She is so well-behaved now that she is like a totally different dog...most of the time. If I talk about cutting toenails, it is a whole different story!

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is great! Do they still have the same lead singer as when they first came out???

That so funny about Isis and her toenails...I remember you saying that on yoru other PTR...you should take a video of her when if you saying your gonna cut her toenails!! :rotfl2:

I'm here! :yay: Looking at your Beach Club pictures make me want to go there one day. I'm pretty sure the closest I'll ever get is booking an ADR there. It's so pretty and looks so peaceful.

The pet pictures are adorable! I know how you love those fur babies.

I think the singer is the same- his name is Scotty? I always wish I could dance to their music. I want to, but I would look like a lunatic. I have not been blessed with the gift of dance. :lmao:
I'm going to have to try to get that on video. I DO have a still photo of her reaction to the idea of cutting her toenails:

:woohoo: I'm glad you found me! I am looking forward to BC- I've only stayed at YC before. I just needed to be in crawling distance from F & W. :lmao:
Thanks! I could probably fill 300 posts with animal photos, but I promise I won't.

So I mentioned John was on vacation last week...we didn't do A TON of stuff, but I took a few days off, too, and we went to a movie, a fancy dinner, and just shopped & stuff like that. Oh- and we went to Foxwoods.

I apologize for the quality of these photos- most were taken with my phone & the camera in my phone stinks. One night, coming home, we saw some crazy clouds (we never got the storm, though):

Friday I noticed my Mom's dog snapping at something outside, so I ran outside to see what it was. It was a baby robin that couldn't fly yet. I looked everywhere for the nest & couldn't find it. I know that you're supposed to ignore stuff like that, but I know that I would be thinking about it day & night if I left it to fend for itself. I took it in. My mom & I researched & asked around about what to feed it and how to care for it. So we have been feeding him since then & he has grown & is getting stronger every day. So now we have to teach the baby how to get worms, wait until he can fly, and wait until we are supposed to have 3 or more days in a row of good weather. I have some photos and a video:

I promise I'll do a WDW update soon. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Grilling in the summer is so fun! The puppy is so cute too! And that was really nice of you and your mom to help the bird!

The corn and veggie kabobs look yummy! how long do you keep the corn on the grill....I can never get it right :(

Oh, your aunts puppy is adorable!
How great that you saved the little bird! I always breaks my heart to see animals hurt.... glad you could do something...have you dug up some worms for the bird to eat yet??? :rotfl: have fun digging!!
