The Contemporary Never Appealed to Me

if you go thinking you won't like - you are right - you won't - but if you go with an open mind - I think you will enjoy it!

the rooms are much bigger than PO, you have several sit-down restuarants to chose from, you can also try room service, the parking is much closer than PO and the arcade is better.

I really think you will enjoy the Contemporary - my mother loves it - but of all the monrail hotels I happen to love the Poly.

I haven't personally stayed there - but my MIL, FIL & family stayed at the Contemporary in August due to the SOG refurb. They were very unsure about it at first, but they LOVED it! They are taking advantage of SOG still being closed & have another trip reserved for the Contemporary again in 2003!

They stayed in the Garden Wing & had a great view of the lake - my little SIL had a great time playing in the sand on the beach.

As someone else mentioned - the monorail doesn't stop 1st on the way to MK, however you are the 1st stop on the way back after MK fireworks which can be a good thing with tired kids in tow. Hope this helps!

I have always wanted to stay at the Contemporary ever since the first time I rode through it back in 1983. I thought everyone staying there was so lucky. When we stay at the Polynesian we always go over to the Contemporary to eat or just walk around. I have seen pictures of the resort rooms from last year and they look like they are in good shape. It is good everyone gets to voice their opinion in here but just remember it is just an opinion and the few that have had problems or dislike the resort are a small amount compared to the many who stay there every year. I say go and have a great time. I would stay there if it would not be so hard for me to have to look out the window at the Polynesian

I AGREE, ANY TIME SPENT WITH MY FAMILY AT DISNEY IS GREAT! WE DON'T REALLY CARE WHERE WE STAY OR WHAT THE VIEW. WE HAVE BEEN GOING FOR YEARS. STAYING FIRST AT THE CAMPGROUND IN A TENT AND NOW WE ARE GOING TO THE CONTEMPORARY, WE THINK WE DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN!!

We have stayed at the Contemporary several times and absolutely love it! I've only stayed in the tower so I can't comment on the garden wing rooms. I can say that we've never felt any shaking from the monorail and we never heard any noise from the concourse/monorail/chef mickey's from our room. The staff has always been very friendly and accomodating.

We just got back from a 10 day stay at the GF and although I enjoyed the GF, I missed the Contemporary and if we go back to WDW in May, I hope to stay at the Contemporary.

Happy to hear so many great reviews about CR At first I was somewhat skeptical due to some of the negative post, but I'm won't let that stop me. As much as we like not all vacations turn out the way we want them to. I booked June 7th thru 15th. MK view in the tower.

That is a fabulous rate! There is NO WAY I would turn that down for a deluxe resort like the CR. I have stayed there twice (attending conferences) and if I could get a rate like that to stay there I would go for it for sure!
