River: As River began crying she felt Max's arms around her. Immediately River's eyes wides and the tears stopped falling, River couldn't remember the last time she had been hugged. Even though River always had a guardian in her grandmother she practically raised herself since her grandmother has been very sick since she was very young, and because of this River never really had friends since she wasn't willing to tell people about herself, she just never want to be the girl with no parents who has to raise herself and her grandmother. Without thinking about it River pulled her hands from her eyes and wrapped them around Max.

Max: Max was surprised as River hugged her back. She hugged her for a few more moments before letting go and stepping back. Max did have to restrain herself after all. She wondered whether her father had sent her punishment in an email yet. "I'll be back later, I'm going to check my email on a computer inb the library." She smiled reassurance at River, and got up and walked to the library, hoping no one would follow. Max had to keep her secrets.

Daniel: Daniel shrugged, realizing that maybe it wouldn't just be all about classes, like other schools. There was really more to it here, especially with the students. Daniel was beginning to think none of the students were exactly like what they showed on the outside. Max had proven that, they'd already seen three sides of her today and it was only ten thirty or eleven in the morning. He replied, "Well, we aren't super heroes yet. And I doubt Professor Collins is the type that's going to give use codenames." He paused and thought about Nate's question. "We could go outside. We haven't really seen the island except for the front lawn and the building. We could always leave our stuff in the living room or in our rooms." He paused again and then continued, "I don't know. I think Britt was skipping, and Professor Collins must have been too distracted with - with what happened with Max to check her head." He liked the other students. Alex and Nate were quickly becoming pretty good friends, and he was sure that Samantha and Britt would soon become good friends too. Jack could do whatever he liked, and Max just plain confused him. The rest he hadn't met or hadn't gotten to know.

Nate: "Yeah, I like the idea of going outside and exploring the island."

OOC: Lately, I've been thinking that Nate's ability (taking on the abilities of animals) may give him too much power. I mean, think about all the things animals can do; fly, super strength, camouflage, heightened senses, breathe underwater, super speed, and tons more. A lot of them overlap with other people's powers, too, and I don't want to steal their thunder. Do you think I could change it? Or does anyone have any ideas to limit it? (I haven't mentioned it at all in the actual game.)

River: River felt Max letting go of their hug, and she knew she had to let her go. She tried her best to smile while Max left the room, but she knew more than anything she didn't want to be left alone, River sat alone secretly hoping someone would walk in and join her.

OOC: You could chage completely, or there are two alternatives that come to mind. One, you could say that you can only use one ability at a time, and it tires you, or you could say that you actually transform into the animal, so he still can only use a few ablities at a time

Daniel: Daniel grinned again. "Okay."

Max: Max went into the library and up the steps to the second floor. She went over to a computer and logged on. She got into her email and, hands shaking, she opened her email and pulled up the one from her father.

Nate: "Great! Let's go!" Nate said, and spun around. He took out down the hall, not even turning around to see if Daniel or Alex were actually following him. He walked into the 1st floor living room on the way to the front door (or at least he thought that's how you got to the front door), seeing River. "Hey, you're the who's never played a board game, right? River, I think. Sorry I didn't answer you yesterday. Kind of got swept away in things and haven't seen you since. I'd be happy to teach you a game sometimes. Most are pretty easy to learn. Not right now, though, because we're going to explore the island. You can come, if you want." Here I go rambling on again. She probably doesn't even remember that conversation.

OOC: Thanks for the input on Nate's power. I've decided what I'm going to do, but it's kind of confusing. First, he can only use a single ability at a time. Also, he can only use abilities on command that he has worked at/practiced, but can use anything if he's in a life threatening situation. Does that make any sense? For example, in order to breathe underwater anytime he will have to practice, swim, slowly build up to it. But, if he's drowning, instinct will take over and he'll automatically be able to use it. I hope this limits it without being to confusing. It also means he's going to have to go through a lot of training, which is good for the story. :)

River: River didn't see Nate come in, she heard
Him get close though, as he mentioned the board games she smiled with embarrassment and nodded shyly, she felt so silly reliving that conversation. "I'd love to learn sometime, and if you don't mind I would love even more to come with you" River liked Nate because he did all of the talking so she didn't have to.

Nate: "Of course we don't mind, right Daniel?" Nate said. Nate then looked around for a door out, but didn't see one right away. "I'm not entirely sure how to get out of this place. I wasn't paying a bit of attention during the tour. Someone else get us outside."

OOC: I've got to go finish hw, too. I'll try to get back on if I have time.

River: River laughed a little, and led the small group to the door, she couldn't exactly decide how she felt about Daniel being with them, since their last reaction wasn't a good one.

Daniel: Daniel followed behind him, and smiled at River. "Hey River. Yeah, maybe some of us can play a game later. Yep, we're going to see more of the island."

OOC: Your welcome. That makes sense. I expect most if not all of our characters will be able to do more in life threatening situations where we need instinct than in the classroom. Training is good, no one is allowed to be perfect the first time they use their powers in Gym btw.

OOC: Okay.

Daniel: Daniel followed them out, looking about curiously, taking in detail he hadn't noticed before.

Daniel: Daniel saw everybody falling behind him, so since he'd paid attention to the tour, he swiftly led them through the corridors until he got them to the front door. He didn't say a word or even blink, he didn't really care who led, after all, it was just an exploration with friends. He led them to the front door and checked behind him to see if he'd left anyone behind.

Max: Max read the email, noticing the usual harsh words that he never said on the phone, in fear someone else would be on the other line or able to hear the conversation. But in writing, there was nothing held back. Max skimmed through it and went to the punishment part. Her eyes widened. This was a punishment. And definitely a punishment she would have to do in secret. Perhaps she would do it in the bathroom, then get a picture and then email it. Or perhaps she would do it in the library, where a computer would be close by. But it had to be done at night, when no one would see her, and they would be sleeping.

River: River followed along, not really sure why, even though she had briefly talked to each of the boys she wouldn't really consider them friends yet. Because of this she couldn't think of anything to talk about, and therefore she followed in silence.

Nate: Once the group was outside, Nate turned to River and Daniel. "So, where should we start? Does anyone know how long we have before lunch? I definitely don't want to miss lunch."

OOC: What is the landscape of the island like? Was this already covered and I just missed it? Does it have a forrest, nice enough beaches to swim at, cliffs, waterfalls, or anythings else? I'm good with anything.

Margo: Margo awoke from her half sleep to the sound of voices below. She saw at least three people down in front of the house. Margo hoped they hadn't seen her yet. She crawled across the roof until she was sure they couldn't. By their conversation, Margo could make out that they were planning to see some of the island. Margo decided that she wanted to join them. She flew off the roof and landed behind the house. Then, she walked around the house, hoping they didn't think that was weird. "Hi, Daniel, Nate." Margo waved. She didn't think she had met the other girl, so she said, "Have we met yet? I'm Margo."

River: " no, I don't think so. I'm River, It's nice to meet you" she was getting better at the introduction thing, and was glad someone else had joined their little group.

Amelia: Amelia knew that a group of kids had gone outside, and that a few others had gone back to their rooms. After going back to her room to grab a book and wait for the others to go, she went to the common room and sat on one of the couches to read. The book was one of her favorites, and one of the very few she owned. It was extremely beat up, with the cover falling off and the pages creased, but she still loved it. After reading for a few minutes, she remembered the library, and decided to go and check it out. Amelia loved books, and she couldn't wait to see all the books the huge library held. She walked in and decided to check out each of the floors. She surveyed the first floor, then climbed the stairs to the second floor. She was startled to see Max at one of the computers. Her back was turned to Amelia, but Amelia was afraid to move, should Max hear her. So, Amelia did what she always did. She knew it probably wasn't allowed, but old habits die hard, and she used her power. She turned herself invisible and tried to quietly slip past Max to the next set of stairs. On her way there, though, she bumped into a bookcase extremely hard, and became visible again.
"Ow!" she exclaimed, holding her side. She then froze, knowing Max could see her now, and waited to see what she would do.

Professor Collins: Oh, by the way, lunch is at 12:30. Gym is at 1:30.

Daniel: Daniel had been about to answer Nate when Professor Collins gave out the mental announcement. He jumped a little, he hadn't yet gotten used to that. Then he relaxed a bit and replied, "Well, apparently luch is at 12:30, and it's eleven now, so we got about an hour and a half." Smiuling as Margo approached, Daniel said, "Hey Margo." He listened politely as hellos were exchanged, and he wondered where they should go.

Max: Max nearly cursed under her breath, this punisment was going to be painful. And if anyone found out...................that would be worse than every punishment her father had ever given her combined. And then she heard someone. Immediately sheclosed the browser and spun around in her chair to see a girl she didn't recognize. In a dead serious voice, Max asked "What. Are. You. Doing?"

OOC: Hmm. Well, the perimeter of the island is all white sand beach. Then there's a mountain and some cliffs on the eastern side. There's forests bordering the mountain/cliffs, and they extend to half way across the island. in the center is the school, with the front doors facing west and the mainland.

"I... I... uh.." she started to mumble, avoiding looking directly at Max, " I.. was.. I'm sorry, I just.. was in the library. I saw you. I was just going upstairs. I didn't mean..." Amelia's voice trailed off. She was surprised she was able to get that many words out. She hoped Max wouldn't be too angry with her. But then, she thought, it wasn't like Amelia shouldn't have been there. The library was open to anyone. But, she had been kind of sneaking around, so maybe Max had a right to be angry.
