Max: Max deliberately looked away and tried not to roll her eyes at him. She wanted to mouth that she wasn't afraid of him, but he would see it as a challenge and probably blurt it out right there. Max didn't want to make him angry with her. Her life was on the line. She couldn't get anywhere with that boy.

Toby: Toby looked away from Max when she did. She drove him crazy. But he would never purposely 'ruin anyone's life' not even Max's. after Alex explained why he couldn't tell the secret, he knew he couldn't. He had now realized how wrong it would be. But Max didn't know that yet, and from some reason he couldn't explain, he didn't want her to.

Max: Max sighed. Part of her wished she could go back in time and fix things. Why couldn't she have gotten time travelling powers? Also, this lesson wasn't helping. How long was this lesson going to go on?

Professor Collins: Professor Collins finished the lesson. "There is no homework, but there will be a quiz next time over the Revolutionary War, so I suggest you study. You can pack up and visit."

Daniel: Daniel sighed as he put down his pencil. He'd been taking notes diligently, and was glad for his fingers when he heard they were finished. He stretched in his seat, then closed his notebook and started packing up his bag.

Max: Max took a look at her notes to find them practically indecipherable. Oh well, she'd given up not far into class anyway. She started packing things up, deciding she'd change her hair the second she stepped out the door. She thought she looked nice with blue hair.
