This may seem a bit strange but after 1 1/2 weeks after our introductions, they are letting me walk their 1st grade son to the bus stop. It is only 6 houses to the corner. Myself and two other mom's are always there in the morning. I like to see them off.

My DH says that I am a non threatening person. I'm too happy (former TDS CM) and I usually always smile.

But would you trust me (or anyone else) after only knowing me for a 1 1/2 weeks. I wouldn't.

Happy Thoughts to all,

first impressions mean alot to people. You probably made a good impression.

I know when I meet new people I'll get the "ooo...this person seems kinda sketchy to me" feeling right away if need be.

Sorry but I wouldn;t but that's just me. I'm not real trusting of people.
Some serial killers have a charming smile also so that can be deceiving though I"m not comparing you to one.
I love my kids to much to trust them to someone in a short time.
But thanks for being out there with other kids. So many parents let their kids walk to the school bus alone.

I did some reasearch on you and from what I uncovered, no, I would not trust you at all. I know all about your trip to Djibouti and what you did to those chickens.

oops, sorry. Wrong person. How about this weather we are having?

Yeah, I think it sounds ok. Six houses is not that far.

MT2...... did you share some of your chocolate with the other mom?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't think it seems odd. Afterall, you said there are two other moms there with you, not to mention all your kids. And you're just walking 6 houses. Now, driving to school might be a different story.

BTW, I found out my cousins are moving to Keller, TX. They're moving down in about two weeks.

Well, if you don't have kids, and you just went up to your neighbors and said that you'd like to walk their son to the bus, and it was just you and their son, no one else, I'd think something was up. Since it sounds like you kids of your own, and you are walking with other mothers, then I don't see a problem with it. If you only live six houses down, then chances are you can see the bus from your house. Maybe they have younger children that don't ride the bus, and this makes it easier for them to take care of the younger ones. It was a real challenge for me when my 3 year old had just gotten out of bed and my older DD needed to go to the bus in the cold weather. I'm glad it's nice again.

First impressions mean a lot. If I saw you yelling and screaming at your child, I'd probably rather they walked by themselves. But, if you are very friendly and pleasant, then I see no problem.

Yes, but I'm pretty trusting. Who knows...maybe they've investigated you over the Internet?

I guess I am way over cautious. I still sit outside with my kids when they play. Most of the time anyway. Trust is something that is earned never given.

kild- funny you should mention that place. It wasn't me you found there but my DH. He was in Dijbouti in the 80's. I never knew the place existed (sp) until him. I don't like the humidity anymore. That is why we left Houston. LOL

Beth76- I live in Keller. This is too weird. What neighborhood, do you know?

A couple of years ago on the first day of school, the bus was late. I decided to drive my 2 DD's and another friends DS. There was a Kindergardener there iwth her mom. We just met that morning while waiting. Her DD wanted to go to school with us instead of her mom. I told her it was OK with me if it was OK with her. She said OK. She followed us in her own car. I guess I didn't look to scary being 6 months Pregnant and my mom was there. I didn't understand that one either.

Happy Thoughts to all,

I didn't want to tell you the rest of it, but it looks like you already know. :teeth:

You know, a guy tries to pick a country that most people have never heard of and you get, "My husband has been there." What are the odds? LOL
