The Cheesecake Factory

The mac & cheese on the kid's menu is the best ever! DD always orders it and DH & I have to eat some of it. I like the cashew chicken the best.

Here's a hint we recently learned: Don't get cheesecake for dessert! Order the apple crisp & share it. Then, take a piece of cheesecake to go & have it the next day.

I love The Cheesecake Factory especially their Godiva cheesecake and they had some limeade drink that was awesome. I was a little surprised at the lack of a children's menu. :confused3 I hope they do more then test them and just put them in every restaurant.

I agree with the pp saying the food is only so/so and very comparable to other chain restaurants. I agree its nothing to wait in line over. I will say the portions are HUGE!!!!

Okay, I will be the naysayer.

CF is okay, but not one of my favorites. I think they are overpriced. Food we have had there has been so/so compared to others. Cheesecake is good, but pricey as well. No kids menu, so can get pricey if taking kids, unless they will share with you or each other. Wait times can be long. If going I would go early and have stuff for them to do.

I have a dear friend that loves CF, so we go there for her birthday dinner. That is enough for me.

JMHO---no flames, please!

No flames here. I am not a fan of their food either but I do like the appetizers.

I just went to the Cheesecake Factory on Sunday. My new favourite dish is the four cheese pasta; penne pasta mixed with parmesan, romano, mozzarella, & ricotta cheese, with basil. I just got the lunch portion and even that was pretty big.

I adore CF! It is my very favorite restaurant. Everything I have tried there is so yummy! :lovestruc It is expensive though so we only go a few times a year.

We have taken our DS there a few times as an infant and toddler and I found it very child friendly. They even bring out a "child's plate" with bread and cut up fruit for free.

We really like the Cheesecake Factory too! I love the Steak Dianne, and DD loves the deep fried mac & cheese! YUM!!!

My only issue with CF is the seating. We've been to a few, and it's set up the same way. If there are just two of us, they will put us in this long booth type seating with smaller tables lined up against a wall. (I'm not describing this well) Anyway, they just move the tables to accomodate the # of guests in your party. HOWEVER, the next party is mere INCHES away from you. You can totally hear their entire conversation and they can hear yours. It makes for an awkward dinner IMHO.

We always ask to NOT be seated like this and will wait if needed.

Personally, I've never been a fan of their food. I felt it was overpriced and just okay, nothing special. And the wait times are outrageous. I don't mind waiting for a place that I really, really like, but this just isn't it for me.

The cheesecake is pretty good, but I now make an excellent cheesecake myself, so we don't even go there for that anymore.

In California, chain restaurants are now required to provide calorie counts for all their menu items. What an eye-opener! Thank heavens they have a "weight-conscious" section! Not sure what's in their salads to make them so high in calories.

Of course, it's a no-brainer that cheesecake is high in calories. So no surprise there.

Not sure what's in their salads to make them so high in calories.

Cheese, croutons, bacon, dressing... Any of those "little" extras can really add a lot. I don't know if they put the dressings on, but dressings can hold a lot of calories.

:goodvibesJust to update.

We did go to the Cheesecake Factory after visiting the zoo.

We weren't hungry enough for a meal. We all just ordered dessert.

DH had the tuxedo cheesecake. I had the chocolate mousse cheesecake. DD & DS split the Chocolate cake with ice cream. Add 3 drinks and a water = $33.00 + tip.:scared1: Wow it was good but I could make like 8 cheesecakes for that price.

Must admit, you all tried to warn me.

Would we go back, probably for a special occasion or something but definately not a place to eat once a week.

BTW - we got there around 4:00/4:15 and did not have to wait to be seated.
