Yes, I would get the FP. Standby will be busy already. Single rider is another option.

I was there on Saturday, January 12 for AP early entry. They held us at the gates until EE began, then there was a rope across the intersection near Carsland. They were doing a little show with Lightening and Mater when we arrived. The wide right still worked exactly the same.
It is a fast ride for part of the ride. Slow at first. Fast at the end. They are "racers" after all. This is the ride the kids want to do so badly! Is it a fast ride? Are they driving or just sitting there? If we get a FP right at the 8am opening, how long will they most likely be in line for Easter Sunday to April 6.
Sorry new at all this, if the park opens at 8AM how do you get a FP earlierIt is a fast ride for part of the ride. Slow at first. Fast at the end. They are "racers" after all.
Guests just sit in the cars.
If you come at 8AM opening it will likely take you 30+ minutes to actually get an RSR FP. If you come at 7:40 it will probably still take 30 minutes but you will have it by 8:10 rather than 8:30.

As Valpo said, if the park opens at 8AM then getting the FP at 8:10AM is not before the park opens but after. If the park opens at 8am, your two options that Hydroguy explained are to get out of the FP line with your FP at either 8:10am or 8:30am.

Sent my husband to get fastpasses while the rest of us did the wide right at a 10am opening with no early entry, we arrived around 9am and were second in the queue at the gates and were let into CA at 9.30am.
Regarding fastpasses, they had 8 machines working yesterday and he was able to get a 10.40am time and line up with no queue for more fastpasses with a return time of 1.45pm. It was a very quiet day in the park however.
If you get the chance be sure to do the ride when Carsland is lit up of an evening - it is even more special then. And watching Carsland light up after dusk is definitely worth doing.
We didn't realise until our 3rd ride that there were two alternatives ie Liugi's or Ramone's just before the race section of the ride so be sure to see if you can experience both.

So you were able to get 2 sets of FP's in one day for RSR?
