Me - 34, DLP addict - I would earn fabulous commission if I worked for them!!
DH - 38, loves DLP
DS1 - 15, still not too cool for Mickey
DD - 12, the princess
DS2 - 4, the reason for this trip

Well, I've always loved Disney and I fell in love with DLP when we had our very first visit there way back in May 1998. DS1 and DD had their 4th and 1st birthdays there, complete with character breakfast with birthday cake on dds 1st birthday at the LA Bar & Grill (now Cafe Mickey). :thumbsup2 We stayed at the Hotel Cheyene for the cowboy themeing and just loved it all. I was completely mesmerised and could have sat on Main St all day. I think I may have cried on the way home......

Our second visit came 3 years later, July 2001, when we managed to afford to stay at Hotel New York. Again, we were completely spellbound, and with the kids being a bit older, and being during summer, we had an even better time. We knew where we were going, and enjoyed the long evenings in the park.

A few years on, 2004, and I was expecting DS2. We booked another visit during April, this time as a last holiday with just the 4 of us. We originally booked NPB, but some bad reviews put me off (I'm sure it would have been fine) so we decided to splash out and book the DLH. The excuse was that because I was pregnant it would be closer to the parks :rolleyes1 The only downside was that we could only stay for 2 nights, so things were a bit rushed. The Studios had opened by now, and we really enjoyed that.

In 2005, we really wanted to go back. DS2 was 11 months, and we decided summer again. So booked the HNY and this time DH sister and nephew joined us. Again we had a fabulous time.

DS2 is now 4, and absolutely loves all the classic, and new Disney movies, Playhouse Disney etc. I really thought it might be child curelty if we didn't take him back!!:rotfl::rotfl:

We started planning in January. Now that we need a room for 5, we originally thought about Explorers, but DH really wanted to stay onsite. We priced the NPB family room (v.expensive), and almost booked SL, 2 rooms, when the 40% offer came out. We did not hesitate, and booked HNY, now a firm favourite with us, for 3 nights.:cool1::cool1:

Originally we wanted to go for 4 nights, but we couldn't get the 40% with the dates we wanted, so settled for 3 nights. I just hope we'll have enough time to get about, as there are loads of new things at the Studios since we've been. In particular, we have the standard photo that I'm sure everyone has standing beside the Walt and Mickey statue just inside the Studios - there is a blank space behind us, now I see that there's TOT and all sorts!!

The plan........(I'm big on plans, but the rest of the family are still to be conviced...)

Leave sunny Scotland on Saturday 27th June and travel to Ashford, Kent. It will take us most of the day, but with plenty of stops and the dvd going for the kids, it's not too bad. We will check into the Holiday Inn and be ready for the Eurostar the next morning. Should be in DLP just after lunchtime!

We'll go straight to the park, and head back to check into the hotel at tea time. Then to Annettes, always a first night meal for us, and back to the park as it's open until 10pm that night.

I plan to 'encourage' my lot to be up and out for EMH, and then back to the hotel for breakfast to make good use of the time, especially for DS2 who will love Fantasyland. We usually take a break mid-afternoon for a swim and rest, but not sure if this will pan out this time, due to park closing at 8pm most nights.

Food - I can't believe just how much time I've spent trying to plan this!!! I spend less time in Asda!! Will we get the HBP, will we not?? Do we really think we'll eat a 3 course meal in all that heat? Or will we just live on hotdogs and burgers.............right now I'm not that sure. My mind changes every day, and DH has just started nodding at everything I say

My ideal would be:

Sunday - Annettes, cash
Monday - Parkside Diner or Rendevous des stars, voucher
Tuesday - Cafe Mickey, voucher at face value
Wednesday - Walts, voucher - whilst watching the parade

Anyway, by the time I've posted this huge trippie, I'm sure I will have changed my mind again!!:lmao:

Our last visit was excellent, but as it was our DH's sister and nephews first time we had a slower pace, DS1 and nephew took an afternoon out for the Manchester United Soccer School (remember that?), and we missed the Lion King Show :sad2:. This time I want to see everything!!!

I also want to relax a wee bit, and not stress out about not being on time etc, etc. I have been known to be a bit 'Monica' (Friends lovers will know who I mean), and it can ruin the holiday for everyone.

Well, we have our passports, our money, and are now just on the countdown - 2 weeks to go:dance3::woohoo::yay::yay:

Can you tell that I'm a wee bit excited??:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Sounds great:goodvibes Think you'll be surprised by the changes in the Studios. They've changed a lot since 2005.

The only problem I can forsee is the 'sunny Scotland' bit:lmao:

A fun trip is planner. Have a great time:goodvibes

Hi there!
We will also be arriving on the 28th, can´t believe it´s already happening in 2 weeks! Let´s keep our fingers crossed for good weather!;) We are also planning on doing EMH on Monday but I am quite sceptical that we will manage to get up early after being in the park until 10 the day before.
So excited to see all the additions to the studios! And we will also be trying to have a not-so-commando-style-trip this year as we both know the parks:wizard:
Looking forward to read more about your plans!

See you there :thumbsup2

We'll be the family with me and DS2 jumping up and down, and the rest looking very rough....DH may even be near to tears, but I just cannot lie in when I'm at Disney - It's Disney for goodness sake!!! :worship::worship:

I know, the same with me! I will have to drag my cousin with me. On one of my previous trips my friends wanted to take a nap in the afternoon.... being in their 20s, I couldn´t believe it:scared1: so many things that could have been done instead.... I mean it IS Disney:worship::wizard:

We have been eating at Annette´s before and have always enjoyed it. We will be trying Walt´s and California Grill this year for the first time.

Oh and just wanted to add I am sure you will manage everything with a 3 nights stay. ( I am a bit jealous since we only have 2 nights...)

I've just let DH read this - he's not into the boards......

He asked me if DH meant 'dumb husband' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well, there's your answer!!:rotfl2:

Cast:I have been known to be a bit 'Monica' (Friends lovers will know who I mean),

Im so like monica as well :rotfl: our next trip is with a party of 12 and they better all tow the line and be up and on time for eveything :rotfl:im not waiting:lmao:

Not long at all now eh? You'll have a great time - if you can get the others to tow the line :lmao:

I too am aka Monica (my DH always calls me it) and I think I almost killed myself (and my party) on our last (first) trip as I just wanted to do everything - I was so tired when I got home I could barely move for days!! This time I've promised myself I'll take it a little easier as we have seen some of it before - am I convincing you? :rotfl2:

Anyway, look forward to hearing about your trip and ahem, plans going to.... well, plan, when you return :lmao:

Well it's nice to know i'm not the only 'Monica' lurking on these boards :rotfl::rotfl:

I think we all must be at bit planning mad, given all the time we spend on here...

Only a week to go now :yay::yay::yay:

I'm doing major washing today and will be packing tonight - I know a bit early but hey ho that's just me :rolleyes1

Love Monica ;)

Only 1 week to go!
You start packing today?:scared1: Now I feel a little behind but then packing for 5 is different from just packing for one person so better to start early...

I´ll start by setting up a new Disney playlist on my IPod for the drive and then think about what clothes I am going to pack:rotfl:;). Did you find a good weather site?

Did you find a good weather site?

No, they are all giving different predictions so I've given up. I'm packing for sun, and if it rains it'll be shorts and kagools :lmao::lmao:

I live in the west of Scotland so not a stranger to the rain, at least it will be hot rain at Disney :rotfl2:

Have fun with your ipod planning - I can't wait to get there :banana:

You did well with your packing, 28-31 degrees on all 3 days in the forecast!:goodvibes:cool1: And they put Lights, Moteurs, Action back on the schedule! And my cousin still thinks we will be staying at the Kyriad and has no clue about the NBC.
Only three more days, can´t wait :cheer2:

Oh my goodness, I am sooooo excited I can hardly type!!:lmao:

Case is all packed with quite a bit of room left over.....which I am sure I can fill.....still :laundy: going on, but weather is good and windy so all drying nice and quick.

I decided yesterday that we would get the HBplus vouchers, so called this morning and added them on. I then called the reservations line and booked Cafe Mickey for Tuesday 6.30, and Walts for our last day at 3.45. Our train doesn't leave until about 7.30, so it will be a long last day for us, and I though Walts might just be lovely, hopefully watching the parade.

We will decide what we're doing on our first day when we get there. To be honest, I don't really want to waste a voucher at Annettes, as I know we will only really want a burger in there, so if we do go there it will be our 'cash' meal.

When I put the phone down from the dining reservations, I just could not stop smiling......I felt like a kid again - just could not keep the grin off my face :lmao::rotfl2:

Hope everything is going ok for everyone else who is on their way soon.

We leave on Saturday for the drive, and for me the holiday starts the minute we pull out of the driveway - we have had such a busy week with our kids finishing school this week. My dd, will be going to high school after the holidays, and she had her leaving night, and last assembly this week - and my ds2 is 'graduating' from nursery tomorrow - they wear the wee caps and capes.....so plenty of things to keep me occupied this week = it has been manic....

Oh dear, I have rambled on a lot.........wait 'till you read my trip report when I get back :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry, just noticed that you are springing a surprise on your cousin - well done on keeping it a secret.

I'll wave to you from across the lake!!!
