Well, I've always loved Disney and I fell in love with DLP when we had our very first visit there way back in May 1998.
DS1 and DD had their 4th and 1st birthdays there, complete with character breakfast with birthday cake on dds 1st birthday at the LA Bar & Grill (now Cafe Mickey).
We stayed at the Hotel Cheyene for the cowboy themeing and just loved it all. I was completely mesmerised and could have sat on Main St all day. I think I may have cried on the way home......
Our second visit came 3 years later, July 2001, when we managed to afford to stay at Hotel New York. Again, we were completely spellbound, and with the kids being a bit older, and being during summer, we had an even better time. We knew where we were going, and enjoyed the long evenings in the park.
A few years on, 2004, and I was expecting DS2. We booked another visit during April, this time as a last holiday with just the 4 of us. We originally booked NPB, but some bad reviews put me off (I'm sure it would have been fine) so we decided to splash out and book the DLH. The excuse was that because I was pregnant it would be closer to the parks
The only downside was that we could only stay for 2 nights, so things were a bit rushed. The Studios had opened by now, and we really enjoyed that.
In 2005, we really wanted to go back. DS2 was 11 months, and we decided summer again. So booked the HNY and this time DH sister and nephew joined us. Again we had a fabulous time.
DS2 is now 4, and absolutely loves all the classic, and new Disney movies, Playhouse Disney etc. I really thought it might be child curelty if we didn't take him back!!

We started planning in January. Now that we need a room for 5, we originally thought about Explorers, but DH really wanted to stay onsite. We priced the NPB family room (v.expensive), and almost booked SL, 2 rooms, when the 40% offer came out. We did not hesitate, and booked HNY, now a firm favourite with us, for 3 nights.

Originally we wanted to go for 4 nights, but we couldn't get the 40% with the dates we wanted, so settled for 3 nights. I just hope we'll have enough time to get about, as there are loads of new things at the Studios since we've been. In particular, we have the standard photo that I'm sure everyone has standing beside the Walt and Mickey statue just inside the Studios - there is a blank space behind us, now I see that there's TOT and all sorts!!
The plan........(I'm big on plans, but the rest of the family are still to be conviced...)
Leave sunny Scotland on Saturday 27th June and travel to Ashford, Kent. It will take us most of the day, but with plenty of stops and the dvd going for the kids, it's not too bad. We will check into the Holiday Inn and be ready for the Eurostar the next morning. Should be in DLP just after lunchtime!
We'll go straight to the park, and head back to check into the hotel at tea time. Then to Annettes, always a first night meal for us, and back to the park as it's open until 10pm that night.
I plan to 'encourage' my lot to be up and out for EMH, and then back to the hotel for breakfast to make good use of the time, especially for DS2 who will love Fantasyland. We usually take a break mid-afternoon for a swim and rest, but not sure if this will pan out this time, due to park closing at 8pm most nights.
Food - I can't believe just how much time I've spent trying to plan this!!! I spend less time in Asda!! Will we get the HBP, will we not?? Do we really think we'll eat a 3 course meal in all that heat? Or will we just live on hotdogs and burgers.............right now I'm not that sure. My mind changes every day, and DH has just started nodding at everything I say
My ideal would be:
Sunday - Annettes, cash
Monday - Parkside Diner or Rendevous des stars, voucher
Tuesday - Cafe Mickey, voucher at face value
Wednesday - Walts, voucher - whilst watching the parade
Anyway, by the time I've posted this huge trippie, I'm sure I will have changed my mind again!!
Our last visit was excellent, but as it was our DH's sister and nephews first time we had a slower pace, DS1 and nephew took an afternoon out for the Manchester United Soccer School (remember that?), and we missed the Lion King Show
. This time I want to see everything!!!
I also want to relax a wee bit, and not stress out about not being on time etc, etc. I have been known to be a bit 'Monica' (Friends lovers will know who I mean), and it can ruin the holiday for everyone.
Well, we have our passports, our money, and are now just on the countdown - 2 weeks to go

Can you tell that I'm a wee bit excited??
