For those of you who are not familiar with my family, and have not read previous trippies and the pre-trip report, please let me do the introductions:

Myself (Catherine) (41) - loves anything Disney, especially Pooh and Mickey as Sorcerors Apprentice
DH (John) (47) - luckily loves disney as well, and is usually happy to agree with my plans
DS (Stephen) (14) - not too bad as a teenager, but doesn't like rides that go upside-down!

Sunday 23 July 2006 - Day Four - Seaworld, Shopping & MGM

Getting later, and up at 6.00 am today. Whilst waiting for DH & DS to get up and ready, read some more and wrote up trip notes.

Going to Seaworld today, so decided to have breakfast at Friendlys on I-drive. In 2004, we had stopped at the Quality Inn Plaza and had eaten at Friendlys two or three times and always had a good meal, so thought we would try breakfast. We weren't disappointed, and breakfast was good.

Got to Seaworld just after opening, and within easy walking distance of the main entrance. It seemed to take ages to get through the security check and gate here. Everything was very crowded. I think Seaworld need to think about moving the security check to avoid the congestion.

Anyway, into the park and straight over to Dolphin Cove. Went to the underwater viewing area, and got some great views of these wonderful creatures.

We then wandered over the the Manatees and Penguins. The penguins were still in the dark. Then it was into Shark Encounter, and there were some people doing the diving experience, and I was pushed out of the way by a very rude staff member! I was trying to take a photo, and so was he, but he was leaning against the moving walkway and wasn't actually moving. I didn't notice him, because I was so busy watching all the fish, sharks etc, and then bump - I nearly went falling all my length! He didn't even apologise . It wouldn't have been so bad if he had. :furious:

Anyway, from the Sharks we went over the the Sea-lions and found there were quite a few baby sea-lions around

They were so cute.

Went over to the Clyde & Seymour show. Made sure we were there in plenty of time so we got to see the mime artist (our favourite bit!) . He was in good form as usual.

However, the show did not go according to plan. Seymour obviously didn't want to play ball, and we only saw him once. It just goes to show that these animals are not forced to do anything.

Then it was over to Pets Ahoy and we thought this show had slightly changed from last year. Not sure whether we were right or not!

My this time DS was getting fed up with Seaworld. He has never enjoyed this park, so we compromised and said we would come back another day to see the rest. Went to exchange our 1-day ticket for the free 7-day pass, and duly left Seaworld.

Shopping was again on the agenda, as DS wanted to go to the Puma shop. So off to Premium Outlets, which was heaving as it was still tax free week. Managed to find a parking space and set off round the shops.

This time we came away with: 4 pairs Levis for DS, and 1 pair Levis, 1 pair trousers, 1 pair trainers, 1 pair shoes, 1 watch and 3 T-shirts for DH. For myself - absolutely zilch . DS decided he was hungry so went to the Food Court, but this was heaving as well, so just got some cookies to snack on. DS was not happy because he couldn't find a thing at the Puma shop. :sad2:

By this time DH was fed up, as he hates shopping (so why did he come away with the most?!), so decided to go to MGM for the late afternoon/early evening. Parking was free as the computer wasn't working and therefore they couldn't issue any tickets.

Once inside MGM, walked up to the Great Movie Ride, which was a walk-on. Saw the gangster version. As we left there, the Parade was about to start, so found a space to watch that. From there we went onto the Backlot Tour, but there were technical difficulties, so no volunteers got wet!!

From there it was onto Star Tours, and again this was a walk on. After returning safely from Endor, One Man's Dream was next. I love this! It really does pay homage to the great man, without whom, none of us would have such wonderful holidays. I think it is such a shame he is not around to see what a great success his vision was. Watched the film at the end and this has been changed. Julie Andrews now narrates the film as opposed to Michael Eisner - I assume this was changed because he no longer works for the company.

We then found the Narna exhibit! There was a small queue, so we waited for about 10 minutes to enter. On entering, it was very impressive. There was this huge wardrobe, and then the door opened for you to walk through. You went through the wardrobe and into Narnia. I have to say this was quite impressive, and we wondered what would happen next? The answer - nothing really! The Snow Queen appeared on a balcony, but it was just a trailer for the film! Very disappointing, and wouldn't have wanted to wait any longer than we did. But it was something else to tick off the list.

By now hunger had set it, as we hadn't really eaten since breakfast, so we left MGM and went to Cracker Barrell on the 192 for dinner. I have to say I loved the breakfast yesterday, but wouldn't rush back for dinner! The food was OK, although the server we had was very attentive, perhaps a little too much. She must have asked if everything was OK about 15 times during the meal, and she always seemed to ask the question as we had our mouths full!

Anyway, back to the Villa for 10.00 pm, and after watching a bit of TV, it was bed time.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Great day. I dont mind been asked once if everythings ok but an overly attentive waiter is almost as bad as one you never see!
