For those of you who are not familiar with my family, and have not read previous trippies and the pre-trip report, please let me do the introductions:
Myself (Catherine) (41) - loves anything Disney, especially Pooh and Mickey as Sorcerors Apprentice
DH (John) (47) - luckily loves disney as well, and is usually happy to agree with my plans
DS (Stephen) (14) - not too bad as a teenager, but doesn't like rides that go upside-down!
Thursday 3 August 2006 - Day Fifteen - Sanford Airport & Home
Woke up at 7.00 am with that horrible feeling you get when you know your lovely holiday is at an end.
Went to wake up DS and his bed was empty. But, so was his bathroom, so where was he? It would appear that for the last night he decided to try the other bed out and I didn't see him!!
Anyway, finished off the packing and we did manage to fit it all in. We had arrived in Orlando with 3 suitcases, and were going home with 4 suitcases, 1 big holdall, 1 camera bag, 1 cool bag, 1 medium sized rucksack, 1 small backpack, 1 carrier bag and my handbag. I have to admit I wondered what the excess baggage would cost, even though we were well under when we came out. Decided to worry about that when we got to the airport.
Tidied up the Villa and put the garbage out, and there seemed to be an awful lot of shoe boxes. We also left behind the toiletries we didn't need, and tea, coffee, sugar and other drinks that we couldn't take home with us. Took some photos of the villa in a tidy state.
The outside of the villa - well it wasn't really a villa, but didn't know what else to call it!

We had decided to have lunch at TGI Fridays at LBV crossroads so after loading up the car and locking up we set off.
Lunch was good, and TGI Fridays was a lot quieter than the other one we had visited earlier in our holiday.
Set off for the airport at arrived at 2.00 pm on petrol fumes I think! Dropped car off and went to join the huge check-in queue. One queue for 3 flights! Thomson seriously need to consider doing the early check-in option that Virgin and TCD do. Typically, our flight was showing 1 3/4 hours delay.
Finally got to the front of the queue and weighed our hold baggage. 65 kilos - only 5 over! The nice lady asked us what hand luggage we had got. We told her, she never even weighed it and said we were fine - nothing to pay. The family who were checking in next to us were being quoted $450 for excess baggage.
Through to security. John managed to set the alarm off (he usually does), so he had to go through again. This time it was OK. I had to take my flip flops off, but DS & DH didn't have to take their trainers off - work that one out??
Upstairs to departure lounge and settled down to wait for another three hours. Managed to ring home and DSis, who was collecting us from the airport had already looked on the website and realised there was a delay.
Waited, and waited and waited. Had something tasteless to eat from the foodcourt, wandered round the shops and bought some duty free stuff.
Finally got onto the plane 3 hours late, to find we had Mr & Mrs "I'm putting my seat back as soon as the seat belt sign has gone off, and leaving it back for the duration of the flight" in front of us again. How considerate - not!!
Flight fairly uneventful. I couldn't see the TV screen, so read all the way home and finished another book. (I think I read 7 in total).
Back to sunny Birmingham and DSis was waiting for us. Loaded up car and set off for the hour's journey home.
