Apologies for the delay guys, but we are now back in business...
The Story so far...
Day 0 - All the Fives
Day1 - the day after the night before
Day 2 - Dry times ahead...
Day 3 - Drink Story Mania
Day 4 - IF&WF
Day 5 - YEAH BABY IT'S 5'o'clock
Day 6 - OMG my head
Day 7 - Home we go
Day 8 - Wave if you want a drink
Day9 - Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Merry? Merry? Two words – no alcohol!!
So we are off to MVMCP tonight, so decide a leisurely day of sorts is in order could be a code word for a few beers I do believe!
We are singularly unimpressed by the dining options at MK, so elect to have a slap up lunch out earlier in the day. We toy with going to some Italian place at the Pointe which Deb is keen to try, but I'm a creature of habit and if we are going to the Pointe - I'm going to Tommy Bahama's Cafe!
As usual here, the food is scrummy and they do a nice beer I might add. I know I had the burger (and I think Deb may have had the same - but who knows?!?!).
Some fancy drink Deb had...
After dinner we head back to SSR and decide to have a stroll along to OKW as we've never done it and it might help to walk off our lunch! This is a very pleasant walk and other than CM's going about their days in golf carts we barely see another soul on the wander - guess it takes 15 mins or so, and ironically just as long to get through the resort itself.
On the way we see the construction/renovation of the treehouses, which look like they'll have a lovely aspect - now there's a possible venue for a future trip
Never having been to OKW before I think we are both impressed by the feel of it - very laid back, very island living, and...is that Jimmy Buffett I hear - this is my sort of place!!
Having had a wander up to the boat dock, we elect for maritime transport back to SSR where there is a cold beer and a chair on our balcony with my name written all over them!! (reminds me, must erase it before we go home otherwise I may get charged for the cair
)
There's not a huge amount we are fussed about doing at MK tonight, other than watch Wishes, the 2nd parade and take some photo's so we elect to arrive at around 8.30 or so and stake a place for Wishes where I can set up the tripod.
So after a few hours spent drinking, chatting and watching the world go by from the balcony (well not much of a world, but just looking at the golf fairway) we head off to MK. Our plans work perfectly, arriving just as the parade ends.
We decide to look and see if there is any space on the platform of Main St, but it is full. Despite this, a couple sat in front of where we are stood decides to leave after the parade so we quickly nab their seats and get ourselves set for the fireworks.
I spend the next hour or so mucking around with my camera trying to find the best setting (following some advice from the photo board) and then start firing away as the fireworks start.
Before the off...
Here are a few I managed, which I have to admit to being a little disappointed with - due to the lights on Main St, I couldn't achieve quite what I wanted and also some of the fireworks were too high for me - nevermind I guess I'll know next time. So moral of the story is, be closer to the Castle.
After the fireworks we had a wander around thr park, watching the second showing of the parade from Frontierland, which was its usual enjoyable nature - albeit watching a Christmas parade in early November wearing shorts is a trifle odd!
After the post-parade crowds had thinned we managed a few shots of Liberty Belle and other things and meandered our way around the rest of the park and caught the bus back to SSR, where there was (rather luckily) still a beer with my name on it!
