The Calories Don't Count When the Food is Free! (Complete 11/24) Pics!

Our last day started off with a simple plan - go to AK and ride the safari and anything else we missed, then go to Epcot for the F&W Festival. However, my determination to have more cupcakes from Starring Rolls to use up my snack credits led to going to all 4 parks in 1 day!
We started the day by going to EMH at AK to ride the safari. We had done this on our last trip and saw SO many animals, but this time the animals wanted to sleep in and not many were out. :sad1: As we left AK, we got to see the opening ceremony truck from the inside of the park and escaped through RFC as the masses surged into the park.
We then made our way to Epcot. Since we got there at 9:30 and we wanted to go to the F&W booths, we wandered around Future World for a bit. We did the piggy game again and won! Finally it was time for the F&W booths to open, so we made our lunch out of snack credits. (see previous post for reviews)
I really wanted to get some more cupcakes from Starring Rolls, so we made our way out of Epcot by the International Gateway. I was tryng to steer Travis toward the boat, but he didn't really believe me that there was a boat, so he kept looking around for a way to get to Hollywood Studios from there... so we missed the boat by about a minute. :sad2: I didn't want to wait 20 mins for another boat, so we got directions to walk to Hollywood Studios. It was really nice to see th Epcot resort area and we ended up beating the boat to Hollywood Studios by a couple minutes! I went off to Starring Rolls and Travis went off to ride TOT. He rode it twice with less than a 10 minuted wait! I thought about riding Rock 'n Roller Coaster, but didn't want to deal with holding all of my cupcakes while riding it, so I just sat and waited for him.
At this point we were both ready for a break, so we took a bus back to the resort for some swimming and nap time. We had an ADR at Le Cellier (review coming soon), so we went back to Epcot for dinner. Travis didn't want to stay and see Illuminations again, and I thought we should go to MK, since we had been to the other 3 parks and make it all 4 in one day! So after dinner, we headed to MK, which was super crowded when we got there. People were all over Main Street getting ready for the parade, so we made our way through the stores and ended up at the entrance to Adventureland. We ended up riding PotC with a short wait and heading back to our resort, since it had been a long day and we had a 10 hour drive to look forward to the next day!

And now to review the reason for the 4 parks in 1 day!

I could have sworn that I had 3 snack credits left, so I ordered three different cupcakes. The white chocolate cupcake had looked really good when I ate here earlier in the week, so I was a little bummed that they were out of those, but I ended up with the marble cupcake, the Butterfinger cupcake, and the chocolate peanut butter cupcake. All of them got squashed into a box that was too short, stuffed in a fridge over night, packed into a not so cold cooler for a 10 hour drive, and put in the fridge again until they were eaten over the next few days and they were all still yummy, though not so beautiful looking!
I tried the marble cupcake first. The cupcake itself was not really marbled, since it was 3/4 chocolate cupcake surrounded by a bit of white cupcake - it was swirled together like you normally see for a marble cake. The white frosting was the same yummy frosting as the Butterfinger cupcake with a blob of heavier chocolate frosting in the middle. The frosting was also covered with small chocolate shavings. Overall this was a really good cupcake and I would gladly eat one again, but it was not nearly as good as the Butterfinger cupcake.
I tried the chocolate peanut butter next. It was a plain chocolate cupcake with a blob of frosting in the middle. On the top was a large mound of chocolate peanut butter frosting covered with large chocolate shavings. The frosting was a really heavy consistency and tasted mostly of chocolate with just a hint of peanut butter. I like a lighter frosting, so although it was a good cupcake, it was my least favorite of the three. I would eat it again, but I would order several Butterfinger ones first.
The Butterfinger cupcake was amazing - even after sitting in the fridge for almost a week! :cloud9: I could have eaten about a dozen of these! I would almost be willing to make the 10 hour drive each way just to get more!
Overall, these were a great use of a snack credit, since they are huge and could be easily split (if you are willing to split one...). I would even be willing to buy several of these out of pocket, since they are so yummy and at $4 are pretty reasonably priced for Disney!

wow, congrats on going to 4 parks in one day...I think one day we will do that when our son is older.
I have to get myself the PB cupacke.

Our dinner for our last day was at Le Cellier. I'm not a big steak person, but Travis is, so I figured he would like this dinner more than me.

I ordered the price fix meal with the cheddar soup and the gnocchi. Travis got the mushroom filet. We swapped desserts, so he had the chocolate mousse and I had the chocolate whiskey cake.

Soup, Chocolate Shake, and Bread

OMG! The soup was great! It was super thick and creamy. It was really good to dip the amazing pretzel bread in too! I could go back here and make a meal out of just the pretzel bread and the soup! Travis really liked the sourdough bread, as well as the pretzel bread, but I stuck to the pretzel bread. The chocolate shake was mostly ice and definitely not worth the almost $5 they charged for it.

Gnocchi

I didn't get much comment from Travis on the steak, other than it was "yum-arific" and the mushroom were "super yummy." He about inhaled it, so it must have been pretty good. I thought the gnocchi was pretty good, but it was very heavy and I couldn't eat much after the soup. The spices were really well done and I was impressed that this was the vegetarian entree, but if we ever went here out of pocket, I would probably skip the gnocchi and just get the cheddar soup, because I was too full by the time it came out to justify eating $20 worth of it.

Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate Whiskey Cake

Travis is allergic to peanuts, so they couldn't make the chocolate moose for him and just gave him a bowl of chocolate mousse instead. He said it was really good and chocolate-y, but it was very heavy for mousse, so he didn't eat all of it. I debated between the s'mores and the chocolate whiskey cake, and ended up with the cake, since I'd had the s'mores at 50's Prime Time. The cake was really good and not very whiskey flavored, but it was a very heavy cake and after all the food I had already eaten, I was only able to finish about half of it. Our waitress did bring me a box and I took the rest home with all of my cupcakes and ate it later. It held up ok, but the cake got somewhat stale after a couple days. I would probably not order this again, but just because I would want to try the s'mores next time.

I booked breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe for our last morning. We ate about the same time as every other morning during the trip, but Travis said he was starving, so he only let me look around the lobby for a few minutes.

We both ordered the skillet. Travis got a coke to drink and I got a mango smoothie.
100_3606.jpg

It was all pretty general breakfast food. I ate both of the Mickey waffles, some eggs, some breakfast potatoes, bacon, and sausage. The Mickey waffles were really light and fluffy, the egss were well cooked, and the breakfast potatoes were well cooked and lightly seasoned. I thought the bacon was well done, but the sausage were disgusting! They were huge and had a really thick casing and just tasted awful. I ate one bite and Travis didn't even try them after that!
I thought the gravy looked like someone had spit it back up, so I didn't eat any, but Travis loved it and ate it all and then asked for more!
My mango smoothie was really good - it was well mixed and not just ice with a little bit of flavor. It was a really large portion and our waitress even gave me a to go cup, so that I could finish it at our resort.

One of the reasons I wanted to go here was for the antics, and once again, our waitress was not into them. She didn't hassle Travis about ordering Coke with his breakfast or anything else. The only thing that we saw her do was bring 6 bottle of ketchup to another table and plunk them down. There was another waitress that was really into it, so it was fun to watch her across the restaurant, but I kind of wished our waitress had gotten into it a little bit too.

After stuffing ourselves at breakfast, we wanted to use up our last credit for lunch before we started our drive home. Since we had gone to DTD to spend the rest of our money on souvenirs, we decided to try Earl of Sandwich.

100_3649.jpg

We each ordered our sandwich (I got an Earl's Club without tomato and Travis got an Original 1762 without horseradish), a brownie sandwich (mine with vanilla frosting and Travis' with chocolate frosting), and a fountain drink.
100_3655.jpg

Neither one of us was very hungry, so we just ate our sandwiches and took the brownies with us in the car. Both of the sandwiches were really good - the bread was fresh and the meat and toppings were good. I loved that the sandwiches were warm and made to order, not sitting there waiting for us.
The brownies were amazing! :lovestruc Initially I said that I would not have paid $2.50 for each, but they were totally worth it! Travis was paying so much attention to eating his while he was driving that he almost crashed the car!
This was a great meal and I've told Travis that I want to go back when he runs the marathon in January.

And now to review the reason for the 4 parks in 1 day!

Great dining report! The cupcakes look delicious. They were on my list of things I wanted to try on our trip earlier this month, but sadly we only spent a few hours at DHS and I never made it to Starring Rolls :sad2:. Oh, and btw, congratulations on making it to all 4 parks in one day. We always get park hopper passes because we often go to two parks a day, with Epcot (our favorite park) usually being one of them. I think we may have done 3 in one day once, but never 4. That is quite a feat :thumbsup2

thanks for wonderful updates...
Happy Thanksgiving:goodvibes

Thanks! Happy Black Friday!

Thanks! The cupcakes are totally worth a trip to HS, even if you don't do anything else there! :lovestruc
