Recently returned from FREE dining and these are my BEST OF awards for 2009!
We ate at a different Table Service and Counter Service venue every day, me and my DS - 5 years old. We were occasionally joined by two D-Sisters and two D-nieces (who are taking part in the Disney College / Internship program this fall and get to LIVE AT DISNEY!!!!
- what a dream come true!).
Back to the awards:
Best Chicken Nuggets - tossup between Wolfgang Puck Express and Boma - this is my 5yo food of choice and these he devoured.
Best Beef Entree - Chef's De France luncheon short-ribs - they melted in your mouth, and were smothered in onions, mushrooms, and a sauce directly imported from heaven.
Even the steak at California Grill did not top this dish!
Best Bread - California Grill - thick, fresh slices of a country white bread - crusty on outside, but more substantial on the inside than a baguette.
Best Pork Entree - Boma - pulled pork roast - served at the carving station. This was the best meat I had during my entire stay.
If you are a meat-lover you gotta try it.
Best Soup - Boma - for their Chicken Corn Chowder! We all know Boma has a great soup buffet, but this particular soup won the hearts of several people at my table!
Best Dessert - California Grill - Sweet Celebration Cake - a concoction of cake, peaches, and panna cotta that was sheer decadence! This was a hard category for me, as I love desserts!
(Other nominees were: Napoleon at Boulangerie et Patisserrie; Raspberry Pavlova at Raglan Road; and the Dessert Bar at Boma!)
Best Salad - Boma, again - for their Kool Slaw. This salad gets better every year! (Honorable mention to salad bar - koldbordt - at Akershus).
Hope you enjoyed my Best Of awards! Feel free to add your own!
Happy Disney Dining Plan eating to all! Especially if it's FREE!
