Since the TR subforum here seems really clique-ish to me and since I'm too lazy to repost it anyway (given the picture limits per post and the number of pictures I have, it's a pain in the *** to post), I thought I'd direct anyone who is interested to my trip report. There are 500 pictures in it, many of which aren't high quality, but might be fun to look at, nonetheless.

Feel free to comment on it here if you want.

Thanks for reading!

Loved the report. Actually read it all in one sitting. Easy to do after knee surgery. I am going to go back and check out your other reports as well. I guess you could say you have a captive audience. Great job, and great photos.

Great pics!

I feel your pain with those early AM flights out of Midway. Looks like you guys had a great time! Thanks for sharing.

What an epic trip report! I really mean that. Epic is the correct word here.

I was hoping you could tell me what backpack and tripods you're using in some of these photos?

Thanks, and congratulations!

I started reading and before I knew it, half an hour had gone by, just like that. Unfortunately, I'm at work... so I decided I'd better just scroll through and look at some pics real quick and save the deep reading for later (which I will do!)

Love the TR so far! :thumbsup2

I'm leaving in two weeks and this will be my first time going with a DSLR. What kind of camera do you use, and what are the specs for your fisheye? I have a Canon T2i that I'm just learning how to use. I'm dying to buy a fisheye before I leave! :cloud9:

Always enjoy your reports and photos. You are a lucky man: a beautiful wife who also puts up with your photography sickness and doesn't spontaneously fall asleep by midnight at the latest (no 3 a.m. MK marathons for me!)

Thanks for posting the link! I've read your other trip reports and learned a lot about Disney photography from them. Looking forward to reading it tonight as I'm stuck at work!

I'm through the first page now, and the picture of you & Sarah laying on the Magic Kingdom logo is fantastic! I wish I could stay up late enough to get that shot. :rotfl:

I'm half way through and really enjoying it!

Congratulations to both of you on a momentus year. :goodvibes

You guys are gonna have to slow down though. I'm tired just reading along! :rotfl2: But then, I couldn't stay up that late even when I WAS young!

Thanks for reading, everyone! I really hope you enjoyed it and that my rambling on wasn't too boring!

I use the Flipside 200 (I think that's the number...whatever is smallest). Along with a Velbon Luxi F tripod. I can't remember what tripod Sarah uses, but it's not as stable (not that mine is the most stable tripod in the world).

I use the Tokina 10-17 fish. I'm not that enthusiastic about it; I fully plan on finding a Sigma 10mm f/2.8 before our Christmas trip.

As funny as it may sound, we condition for WDW. We typically work out ~1.25 hours per day, 6 days a week. It makes a noticeable difference when in the parks.

Hopefully we can manage DLR okay, as we've both fallen a little out of shape since the Honeymoon. We've been so busy that it's tough to stay on that rigid of a schedule. We'll definitely be ready again Christmas. People may cringe at the idea of being in the parks until 4 a.m., but after you do it for the first time and see how amazing it is to have the place to yourself, you begin to worry less about getting the sleep. It's an energizing experience, to say the least.

Well, I do think you will find DLR easier to handle. Everything is SO much closer together. I can't wait to see what you bring back from there!

As for the late nights.... of course it doesn't help that I've always been more of a morning person. I'm sure you'll do better with DLR that I did too. I was waking up at 5 pacific time because of my internal central time zone body clock.

I WAS proud of my one trip to the MK last year when I was there until 1:20. 4 AM it's not, but my personal best. I could have stayed longer, but my husband and daughter had been DONE for some time...... There's just something about Disney that give us all energy to keep going!

I'm still reading and still enjoying your report!

Many congratulations to you both - really enjoyed reading your report and there are so many amazing photos.

Congrats, Tom! Glad to see you posted a link to your TR...it has been an interesting ready so far, although I am only on page 2 of 7.

A few comments:

1. I COMPLETELY agree that staying at the BWV for the first time (when compared to staying at the value resorts most trips) is like a revelation. I never thought I'd be a resort location snob, but being able to walk to Epcot in like 5 minutes is the best.

2. As always, love your pictures of you and Sarah on the trip. It's great to see how much time you spend to make sure you have pictures of eachother enjoying your trip...no matter how cheesy some may be. ;)

3. In October we had the same lack of bus experience. We had breakfast at Kona and were back at the MK around 10:00 waiting for a bus to Coronado. We saw bus after bus come, but no one was stopping to pick us up. Finally a CM came by and asked how long we'd been waiting (at that point almost an hour) and went into some guard booth and came back out to tell us a bus would be here shortly. I guess people leaving the park within an hour of park opening isn't all that common.

4. Asking how much something will cost before you order it is the first rule of dining out!! It may be tacky, but after eating at a Mexican restaurant in NYC and accepting our waiter's offer of guacamole for our chips (assuming it was complimentary) only to find out it was $27, never again will I order before I know the cost of what I am getting.

I'm sure I will have more thoughts to come, but like I said...I'm only on page 2...I have a feeling there is a lot more to come.

For the next 9 days, she was singing “Dachshunds, Hyperspace Dachshunds...” to the beat of Hyperspace Hoopla (this may seem odd, but it's par for the course with us; if we like a song, we try to incorporate our pets into the lyrics of the song. Before you judge, just remember, you're the one choosing to read about this...)

I'm glad we're not the only ones who do this.

Awesome report! Looks like you had a great time :goodvibes

PS Where does Sarah buy all those cute dresses? They were awesome, also

Tom-
Congratulations on your wedding. I loved your TR. I really admire your talent both behind the camera and in the editing as well.

I had so many questions while reading and now I can't remember most of them. Some were answered in your blog post on wdwphotography-excellent!

Was your camera perpendicular to the ground on a tripod for the grauman/hat/Tom & Sarah pic?-I loved that one and am so intrigued by how you got that shot.

Loved the Splash mountain one you posted today. I want to make my pictures so clear and sharp. I have a long way to go to get anywhere near your talent.

Thanks for taking the time to share.

Kelliann
