Wrinkles be damned - I've been pouting since October when DH and I decided we'd skip Disney this year to pay for things like a new chimney and roofing (dang this homeowner gig!). But I just kept it up and kept it up, and TA DA! We're going in August!

So we've decided to try the Boardwalk Inn. I'd love some recommendations about the Epcot resort area restaurants. I know we'll enjoy a few World Showcase meals, but what's good right on the Boardwalk?

Goodness, I missed you guys!

We have done the Flying Fish several times & have been VERY happy with our meals. A bit more expensive but worth it in my book.

If you are going to BI, look into renting from a DVC member at BWV can save you cash.

HA! I wonder how many of us will be damning our wrinkles for trip to disney! :rotfl2:

i have been doing the same thing for the past week--- i think i have DH on board, i told him the time and place-- we just got back in Dec- but i wanna go back again! of course i did the "pout" and asked him if he will take me to disney for my b-day.....and ....our anniversary! all he said (while laughing) was...."are you trying to butter me up?!" ...hee hee of course i am! :cutie:

:hippie: maddhatir :smokin:

I had the best WDW burger at Big River Grille. I know, not surprising for a brew pub, but it was like 200% better than the counter service stuff. You can also get a beer sampler there. Great chocolate cake, too!

Cheers!

We stayed at BWI Concierge last year. It was very nice and we had lots of fun. As for Epcot restaurants there are lots of good ones. We have eaten practically everywhere at least once so if you have specific questions let me know. :) For now here are some of my favorites in Epcot, but I have many others:

Biergarten
Le Cellier
San Angel Inn (for the atmosphere and food actually very good last trip)

Around the Boardwalk we did not eat as much. We had eaten at The Flying Fish once before on a trip and were not impressed. It seemed snooty to us, but again that was several trips ago and it may have just been a bad day because we have often re-visited restaurants after a bad experience and the second time around was lots of fun.

Also, around the BWI we have tried Spoodles, ESPN, etc. All were fairly standard fare and didn't leave us with a lasting impression. However, not too far away is the Brown Derby in MGM! That was very good last time we were there.

Have a great time on your trip. We are currently planning our 6th WDW vacation! :)

Flying Fish is so good. No one was rude to us and I would love to go back. Brew works was awful both times we ate there, I would not suggest.

Good to know. We will put it on our list to try again during the next visit. As I said, CM's have bad days. It doesn't happen often at WDW, but when it does it seems so out of place it becomes a memorable experience unfortunately. We ate a late lunch (3pm) if my memory serves correctly so it's possible our server just had experienced a bad/busy day. Anyway, it's worth trying again! :thumbsup2

I was leaning toward Spoodles for one dinner, and ESPN for lunch (DH would like that, I'm sure!).

Has anyone had the sandwiches at the Boardwalk Bakery for a quick meal?

MADDHATIR - I'm routing for you! Keep working on your DH, you'll wear him down soon!

JENNIE from MAINE - thanks for the info about good burgers at the Brew place. DS loves his burgers. (You know how weird us "flatlanders" can be).

MrToad - this will be our 6th trip also! And we have never been to the Boardwalk!

We had dinner at Spoodles last Friday night. It was VERY GOOD! The garlic shrimp appetizer was awesome. The four cheese flat bread was soooo good. My DH and DD had the steak and said it was very good. I had the fettucini alfredo with shrimp. It was the best I ever had. The service was very good. We had a table in the corner right next to the window. We looked out onto the Boardwalk. We were able to see some of the fireworks. It was a wonderful dinner. :)

We stay at the BCV every time we go and there are plenty of choices. We love the buffet at the Cape May Cafe. Lots of seafood, but other good stuff, too. The Big River Grille is always good, and it is nice that you do not need a ADR. Ate at Spoodles for dinner once, it was good, but friends that went said it was great for breakfast. Beaches and Cream at the Beach and Yacht is great for desert, we even had the kitchen sink once.
Wherever you eat, enjoy the stay, it is the best location on property.
And Jellyrolls for a night of sing along fun is a must :bounce:

Hey! I forgot about the Cape May Buffet. Love those oreo bon-bons. I wasn't thinking of the other resorts as much.

They are huge, but wicked good. And "landlubbers" are ok by me. I HATE 95% all seafood!!!

Cheers!
