Chapter 1 – Good Food, Good Wine, Good Friends = Great Times!!!!!

A little trip report back story. Because we all know every story needs a back. And. As far as I’m concerned. You can never have too much. Back story. TFI. The WHY of the trip. Which is the real meat and potatoes. Unless you’re a vegetarian. Otherwise just use it as an analogy.

Otherwise you’ll take what I give you. And like it.

So. To launch this ship properly. I’ll start. At the end. Just to be different. Because I am. Different. TFI. I am also loveable. Cute. VERY sassy. Witty. And. I have MAD SKILLZ. Which you will soon see.

But. I have a short attention span. And digress. A lot. Like now. See???!!!

Here is my WHY. My back story. My Trip Report. My way. And. A picture speaks a thousand words. Someone said. So. Here’s mine:

And now for the beginning……

I’ve made many, many really good friends in the short time I’ve been here. On the Dis. One is always fighting a losing battle for his wallet. One fought a losing battle with her bowels. And taught us that art really does save lives.

Some are Silli. One is a fixer. One is an animal lover. One loves Melooons!!!!! One says she is a meeeaaaan momma (but I know better)!!!!. One makes me wanna LaLa. In the kitchen. On the floor…..

Then there’s The Sisters of Insanity. So dubbed by Zzub. Henceforth to be refered to as J. ‘Cause that ‘s what I call him. He answers to it. Too. Try it, he likes it!!! Trust Sher!!!

Anyways. The Sisters of Insanity are my sisters. In every way. But blood.

There’s my GramGram. Who makes me PMP with hysterical laughter.
Jami who showers us all with her sweet love.
Horseybabyborgtwinsiswiththegoldenblondetresses. Who really is. Just that. To me.
HaleyB. Who is just as silli as Silli in general is.
And Sid!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My lil’twinsis. Love her!!!!!!!!!!!

We are the Nutwings of the Vikings. Of which I am The Commander. Even tho that dang Tag Fairy ALWAYS gets it WRONG. It’s TRUE, I AM!!!!

And ALL the other Vikings. Of which there are. MANY. Most of whom you will all get to meet. We are a merry band of Vikings. All are unique. And special. In EVERY way. And. Of course. THEY ALL LOVE ME!!!! It’s because I am so loveable. That’s also a mad skill. TFI.

Also. I KNOW they’ll ALL be contributing. To this trip report. Enhancing it. As they rightfully should. They are the cast of characters, after all.

All are friends. Really, really friends. Friends I’ve had the pleasure to meet. At The Happiest Place on Earth. In OUR Laughing Place. Some I may never meet. It’s true. But. That’s all right with me. I know that they know that I know that they know that I know that they know that they love me!!!!!!

But I digess. Again. See?? I told you tho. Properly warned ye be and all that.

I can’t possibly give the whole back story of how our Viking friendship came. To be. Because I don’t really remember!!! Short attention span, remember?? (knocks reader on head)

Besides. The however we all came to be. Doesn’t matter.

We come from different backgrounds. Different geographic locations. Different religions. Different life philosophies. We are different. In many, many ways.

And. Here some would say despite that. I say BECAUSE of that.

We became friends. And. We are all. Every one of us. Each in his/her own way.

BOLD. And. BEAUTIFUL.

Inside and out.

We are there for each other. Thru thick and thin.

We have laughed with each other. A lot. DO WE EVER!!!!!

We ((((SLAP)))) each other. We ((((SLURP)))) each other.

And. We’ve shared the heartache too. We are THERE for each other. Always. Day or Night. Night or Day. Really, really.

And. I'm just sayin' - if (any of) you were in an accident, I wouldn't stop for a beer.

We are a loony, mad crazy group of friends-for-a-life-time.

Oh. And we have a mascot!!!! He’s been to the World. And around the world.

His name is Pluto. We call him Plutopants. As in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plutopants. And travel he has!!!!

As of this writing Plutopants has had 8(ish) (math is not my friend, TFI!!) trips to WDW. He’s stayed at the Boardwalk with MelHappyaunt. Been to the Poly three times so far, with Brandt79, MommyP and DisFan3. He’s been to Pop, off-site (oh, the inhumanity!!!) and Old Key West with YAK. The Beach Club with Minnie. And the Contemporary with Horsegirl. And traveled to Pop with yours truly!!!!

Anyhoo. It soon came to light that several of us would be. At the same place. At the same time.

And. I am NOT one to be left out. EVER!!!!! After all, EVERYONE loves me!!!!

And. IT’S NOT A PARTY WITHOUT SHER!!!!!!! So. I was IN bay-bee!!!!!

Here’s the thing. Though. Mr. Sheridac is a VERY protective kind of guy. So. I could not go alone. And he could not go with.

LIGHTBULB!!!!! Good friend B!!!! One quick phone call later and B is in Bay-bee!!

And. SCORE!!!!!!! Free Dinning (hi J!!)!!!!!

In addition to scoring FREE DINNING!!!!! There was also the major SCORE of the F&W Festival.

SCORE AGAIN BAY-BEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now. Where In the World?? Decisions, decisions. I like to research.

Another MAD SKILL, TFI.

I read the Dis. I surf the Community Board.

(True or False: If I were to stand on high ground in Key West with a good pair of binoculars, I’d be as informed as I am right now.)

We all have out favourite places to stay. The Holiday Inn. Off-site.

Come down off the ceiling now. We’ll wait…… I’ve got nothing to do.
Just like a writer on a movie set.

There now. That’s better. Continuing on…..

Some people love POR. Some love the Poly. Some love the Wilderness Lodge.

Some love to camp. Can I just now here say EEEWWWWW??!!!!!

But. The decision was an easy one. I chose Pop. For several reasons:

432.ii) Most of these crazy nutwings are staying there.

J) I have always wanted to stay there. Doesn’t it look like fun, fun, fun??? I can twister with the best of them. Twist and shout too. Twist off caps?? Not so much though. Twisty-ties??? Those I can do.

One quick(ish) call to the WDW Travel Company utilizing that handy-dandy toll free number (my mama didn’t raise no fool!!!)

And. I was booked.

Good Food, Good Wine, Good Friends = Great Times!!!!!!!!

We want to share our tale of our 3 hour tour....which was actually more like 5 days...I am nutwing #3, a Maelstrommer, or strommer, if you will, a sister of insanity, though I am sane....and one of the many Dissers that met for this epic meet. Nutwing #4 reporting to say...great start, Commander!

Our plans and our meet were divinely ordained, IMHO. None of us would have guessed a year, or even six months ago, we would set sail together.

This Sister of Insanity had Pluto for a home visit over the summer. He looked all fresh and fluffy then. Things have been somewhat rough for our little mascot, though, and he has been around the block. How much do we love Pluto? Enough to let him ride up front with us when we............

What an amazing start. Even if I didn't "know" some of you guys, I'd still be very interested in this Trip Report. It's got several of the ingredients (mmm, ingredients [drool]) which make a good TR. Good writing, meandering digressions, back story, weird expressions (TFI=FYI for the three of you who don't read Mel's TR), pointed references to other Trip Reports, and of course, quotes from The West Wing.

If only you had Yoo Hoo on tap. I'd be fully down.

I'm glad you're undertaking this endeavor, Sheridac, and I hope the rest of the Maelstromers who met up with you guys chime in here as well. I know lots of us are looking forward to reading about your adventures.
