The Magic is running late tonight. Who else votes that they put a live cam in at Port canaveral so we don't have to always hit refresh button.

5:37 and she just took off. Those poor people who had the 5:30 dinner, couldn't be on deck for actual sail away.

It would be hard to make 6:00 dinner with kids and still be up on deck at 5:00 when they sail. I love that sight of the boat leaving the harbor.....how come I'm not on It !!!!!!

I was watching on the Twopalms cam and it didn't pass until 1750... Way too Kool... Only 293 days to go... woo hoo...

I'm with you Dave. I would love to have DCL have a bridge cam.

I just found out today that our dining time for the 9/14 Magic has been changed to 5:30 p.m. I plan on being at the sail away party and arriving in the dining room at 6:00 p.m. We'll just have to eat fast that's all!

Not to worry, Carol.

We were on the Magic last week. The Sail-Away party is abbreviated now. It was over by 5:15, in order for the folks to make it to dinner.

By the way, your waiters may not appreciate you showing up at 6, since they have to serve you AND clean/set up for second seating by 7:45.

Sorry if they don't "appreciate it" if we show up at 6, but we had no say in the dining time change. Besides, last year when we cruised, we seemed to always be in and out of the dining room in an hour or so. That would still give them plenty of time to clean and set up for the next group of people.

That said, I'm sure we wouldn't be the only people arriving late for dinner if the time interfered with the sail away party.

Don't they close the dining room doors at some point? I mean if dinner time is 5:30pm they can't have people coming in at all times.

If they do that then they would not be able to move the camera to get the different shots we see,Im all in favor of a bridge cam

Last year when we cruised there were families that arrived late in the dining room. No one was ever denied entry.

But what about the people dining at your table? Do they have to wait for you? I would not relish keeping DD occupied for 30 minutes if we've been timely while waiting for other people to appear at their leisure...

I was thinking the same thing Mcnuss. I enjoy meeting new people on cruises, but I am not going to enjoy waiting for table mates that make their own dinner times.

We are a party of 20 on this cruise. We won't have any other table mates.

On our first cruise we were in the dining room as we started to sail. We were sitting next to one of the big portholes in Parrot Cay! Another ship sailed by and it was one of those "best moments" that you will never forget!

The second cruise we were at the party but nohing like that first beginning!

O.K. I missed everything. When did the new dining hours take effect? Is the late seating time still the same? Boy!!! You take a couple days off and everything changes.

I personally think people are being way too nice by waiting long lengths of time for tablemates who are basically strangers, to arrive at dinner. I'd be willing to wait a little bit, say 10 minutes. But after that, I'm ordering. If they aren't considerate enough to be on time for us, I don't feel obligated to wait for them.

I'm with you kimtenn! I thought that the servers made you wait, but I would be relieved to know they don't. The whole business of having to sit with strangers for meals is the only downside to my giddy anticipation of the cruise. I am terrified that I will be the one all dressed up seated next to the guy in the biker t-shirt! Then to think I might have to wait for ages for the "privilege"...eek.

On our last two cruises, our family of 4 sat at our own table. It was very nice. We still chatted every evening with the adjacent tables, but it took alot of pressure off of being exactly on time.
