I think it is perfect for young kids! Not sure what that guidebook is all about...which guidebook would that be?

Boardwalk has things that are especially geared to young kids, such as hairbraiding, facepainting, carnival type games. There's a pizza window at Spoodles for quick snacks, if you don't want to take the kids to a sitdown place and there are tons of other options for fun......BW is perfect with kids!

My kids are (7)dd and (3)ds. Dd loves Boardwalk. She loves to get her hair braided and the ice cream shoppe. I think that that is her favorite. Ds is up for anything. It's not on the Baordwalk, but both really like the lobby of the Boardwalk. I think it is the big chairs and the carnival theme (carousel horses and stuff.) I can say that they really like the surrey bikes too, but dh and I prefer to skip them!!!!

My 6 year old son doesn’t think we are on vacation unless we stay at the BW.::yes::

Also, the Boardwalk has COmmunity Hall with activiteis for the kids, video games, a ping pong table, etc. Lots of fun!

Our kids enjoyed the surreys, outdoor entertainers and general atmosphere.

We were there with our 2 DSs (ages 5 1/2 and 2). We had a great time. There is little doubt that other resorts (OKW and VWL come to mind) are more peaceful and quiet. This does not mean, however, that BWV are too lively. It's all a matter of taste. Our boys loved the pool, community hall and all of the activity happening on the Boardwalk.

If you want to have a place to come back from the parks and just quietly relax, I might consider OKW or VWL (my boys enjoyed OKW also). If, however, you want a more active vacation...BWV will be perfect. Since we went to VB after BWV, we did not need the quiet and relaxing while in WDW.

All in all you'll hear as many opinions as there are DVC DISers....just look what each resort has to offer and go for it...I am confident you will have a great experience at any of the resorts.

We have yet to stay at BWV with the kids... but the kids I have seen on the Boardwalk are all having a great time!

My kids love staying at the BW. Even when we weren't staying there, we always strolled over there for some fun.

BW is a great location for kids. We brought out baseball mitts and we were playing catch on the BW lawn when we were there a couple of weeks ago. After a little catch, we went to get a donut at the bakery. We did the surrey bikes. We were going to do the little power boats at the YC, but it was a little too cool. My kids played the games on the BW and liked eating at ESPN, Spoodles and Big River.
My one caution is that a BW view room can be a bit noisy. We will probably avoid those rooms from now on.

My girls (2,4,7) love BWV they keep saying Mom when can we go back to the clown pool. I love it because there is so much to do and within walking distance to studios and epcot .
