Is everyone in post trip hangover mode? It's been so slow here lately and I'm trying to distract myself from life lately, so I'm probably noticing it more than most. What's everyone been up to?

Last week I was sick, so not leaving the house much, then went to the funeral of a good friend who we lost to breast cancer, and was waiting on a call that never came about a job interview. It's been over two weeks, so I assume I didn't get it, but if someone goes thru a phone I interview and an in person interview, wouldn't you think they would at least get a courtesy email that the position went to someone else? Especially since they were in a HUGE rush to do the interviews - in person was less than 24 hrs after phone interview - and they said they were only bringing in 3 other candidates, so it's not like they couldn't respond to everyone.

Eta: sorry for the venting! Think I need a nap! Lol

Saturday, We went to a food festival in our area that had booths with various country themes and music. It helped soften the blow of no Food & Wine trip for us this year.

I can't speak for anyone else, but after being away for two weeks, it takes me a week or more to catch up.

Work, home, family, pets....everyone and everything needs your attention after you have been gone.

Between the post-Disney Depression and the start of the school year, I've been totally overwhelmed. Throw in the torrential rainstorms and it's been a lousy couple of weeks. It seems like everyone I talk to is feeling the same way. The end of summer back to the real world transition just seems harder this year.

Sounds like you and I are on a close path. Had a funeral yesterday and a burial today. Husband had two job interviews for the same position, but no call backs. He currently has a job, so it isn't a dire situation.

Yeah, I know the podcast team is probably all in trip recovery mode. How are the dogs (rain and max) doing?

I guess a lot of people are probably in back to school mode too - none of that for us yet!

I did have a fun visit this morning taking my toddler to the train station for a tour and to see a real choo choo up close. Maybe this cold will be gone soon and I can get out of the house more now that the nc weather is finally good!

I'm still playing catch up at home and work after an 8 day vacation to the House of Mouse. I finally emptied the suitcases, now I just have to put stuff away.

I still have the deck furniture in the garage after hurricane Irene...never put it back out before the trip....oh well, that's the least of my concerns...winter is coming anyway. We decided to close the pool early this year as it's cooled off and no one will be getting into 72 degree water, so that's on our list for this weekend.

Other than that....same ole thing.
