The birthday girl and her mom take on the dining plan 11/12 - 11/22

I just read your "worst trip ever" report! So glad that you & DD are having a much better trip this time!

Wonderful reviews and lovely photos
Your DD looks like she is having an absolute blast :)

Thank you. We had a great time!

My kind of girl! Gotta love Disney popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

I'm not really a popcorn fan, but DD would eat it for dinner if I'd let her

I just read your "worst trip ever" report! So glad that you & DD are having a much better trip this time!

This trip was totally different than last time. Thank goodness!!

To continue with our Cinderella theme for today, dinner was at 1900 Park Fare

ry%3D400

My plate: cold strawberry soup (should have saved it for dessert!) Chicken coq a vin (was very good), mashed potatoes, salmon with seafood sauce (very good!) caesar salad and another type of salad with a vinagrette sauce. I was very happy with everything I chose.
ry%3D400

DD's plate: pineapple, pizza, roll, fried rice, macaroni and cheese. She ate it all so it must have been good
ry%3D480

My pictures didn't turn out of our dessert, but nothing was really fantastic, other than the bread pudding with vanilla sauce

We're a little mixed on the characters. Cinderella was perfectly charming and sweet
ry%3D480

We had ordered a cake. I was a little disappointed that the server just plunked it down before we were even done with dinner. No candle or anything. DD was happy enough, though

ry%3D480

The stepmother was a tad over the top with the eyes, but she was funny "Stand up Riley, smile for your picture Riley. Sit down Riley. Eat your dinner Riley"
ry%3D480

Prince Charming was nice
ry%3D480

I have to say I was really disappointed in the stepsisters. They didn't argue with each other, they didn't really interact with DD. The ones we've met at Magic Kingdom are much better at playing the part. They basically signed and left.

ry%3D480

The food was really good, the service was not so hot, and we had good luck with maybe half the characters. The buffet line can back up pretty far...it doesn't seem big enough for the restaurant. We did enjoy it, but I'm not sure if it's one we'd do again.

Nov 19th

Today was the last day of our package and dining plan, so we had to cram some food in to use up our credits :)

First we took advantage of a leftover counter service to do breakfast at Mara.

DD got the kids waffle plate
ry%3D400

She liked that she could watch old Mickey cartoons while she ate.

I got the breakfast plate. My coffee is missing from the picture
ry%3D400

The potatoes were good and so was the biscuit. I'm not a fan of the "fake" eggs, but they were okay.

After tooling around the resort for awhile, we went back to Mara to use our last counter service credit.

DD had the roasted chicken with fries. It was pretty greasy, but it tasted good
ry%3D400

I had the chicken flatbread with watermelon for dessert. It was very good.
ry%3D400

and for dessert, cookie decorating at Boma
ry%3D400

Tonight was our MVMCP night, and we started off with an early dinner at Crystal Palace.

ry%3D400

Our table was decorated with paper ribbon and Mickey confetti
ry%3D400

I wasn't necessarily starving since it seems like we had been eating all day long, but here's my plate:

ry%3D400

Beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, corn spoonbread, pasta with cream sauce

DD's first plate: pizza, carrots and mussels :sad2:

ry%3D400

I missed her second plate, but she got chicken nuggets, cheese and more mussels

My dessert plate. Crystal Palace has the best dessert buffet we had all week
Chocolate torte, peanut butter chocolate cake and pumpkin cheesecake.
ry%3D400

DD has ice cream with sprinkles, and the waitress brought her a cupcake
ry%3D400

The characters breezed through pretty quickly
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Tigger grabbed DD for the parade, then turned the balloons upside down and played them like a guitar
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We've done both breakfast and dinner at Crystal Palace and never had a bad experience here. It's one of our favorites, even if all my kids think they are too old for Pooh. The desserts cannot be beat!

A couple of quick snacks tonight

One, hot cocoa and sugar cookies, included with our MVMCP party. Its weird drinking hot cocoa when it's 80 degrees outside. We got these from Pinnochio's in Fantasyland, and it was only open until 10:30pm. We saw other sites that were open until 12:15.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

While waiting for the parade, we went to Main Street Bakery to use our final snack credits to get something for breakfast the next day, and they were CLOSED. Not happy. We ended up getting peppermint ice cream and bottled waters instead. I had a cup, DD had a cone. The peppermint ice cream was really good. DD took this picture.
ry%3D400

We ended up with one snack credit left somehow, so we got another bottle of water to take back to the hotel later, which since we had ordered water with our grocery delivery, we actually ended up giving bottles away to our hotel neighbors before we checked out. I didn't plan our snacks very well

Nov 20th, DHS

I tried to steer DD towards another restaurant, but she was set on Pizza Planet for today.
ry%3D400

She got cheese pizza, with applesauce and cookie, which we saved for later

ry%3D400

I ordered just the cheese pizza and drink. The CM threw in a free Mickey head rice crispie treat because we had to wait awhile to order because of a mess up with the register. I thought that was nice.
ry%3D400

We do Pizza Planet every year. The kids always like it, the pizza has always been fresh. It's just really loud and everyone wants to spend extra money in the arcade (not this year) I have a feeling it will continue to be a must do

Tonight we had dinner at Sci Fi drive in

ry%3D400

DD ordered a chocolate shake, I ordered strawberry
ry%3D400

DD had macaroni and cheese and salad. She was happy to get a salad as not many restaurants have it listed as a side for kids
ry%3D400

I couldn't find anything that thrilled me, but I went with the ribs. They were actually really good. They fell apart and had a good flavor. I was surprised! They totally screwed up my side dishes, but I was okay with it.
ry%3D400

We split a chocolate peanut butter cake for dessert, and it was awful. The cake was SO HARD we couldn't cut it....even with a knife. There was maybe 1/2 tsp of peanut butter.
ry%3D400

This is a maybe on our do again list. Our waiter was horrible, dessert was terrible and DD was not thrilled with the scary movie clips  However, the food was really good and it was a neat ambience and just something different.

Nov 21.

We were scheduled to eat at Tusker House at AK, but we were tired, so I canceled it the day before. We ended up sleeping in and spending the afternoon at Downtown Disney

Lunch was at Earl of Sandwich.
ry%3D400

We knew we'd want Ghiradelli for dessert, so we decided to split a sandwich and ordered the original
ry%3D400

It was really good. We should have asked for extra creamy horseradish sauce though :) I had a frozen lemonade and it was good.

We did end up at Ghiradelli and got a peanut butter hot fudge sundae to split. Oh so rich, and oh so big!
ry%3D400

We also did a stop at Goofy's to bring some powdered candy home for middle DS, and got a make your own treat to nibble on for the next couple of days.

DD went with marshmellows dipped in dark chocolate, Reeses pieces and drizzled with dark chocolate.
ry%3D400

I ordered a peanut butter filled cookie dipped in milk chocolate, rolled in pecans and drizzled in white chocolate. It was ridiculously good
ry%3D400

Nov 21

Tonight was the hands down favorite meal of the trip. DD is a huge seafood lover, so we went to:

ry%3D400

Our waiter was Jamal, and he was absolutely fantastic. He started DD drawing on the paper table covering, was very attentive to her and me as well, never let anything go needing refilled. He even showed us tips on how to open our seafood and he constantly refilled our warm butter.

You start with sourdough bread with butter, and crackers with crab dip, which they give you the recipe card for. It was really good

ry%3D400

I decided to order a green apple martini. It was really good and I actually would have loved another, but I always stop at one
ry%3D400

I ordered the crab claws for my meal. They were already cracked open for me. They were huge
ry%3D400

DD got king crab legs from the kids menu with fries
ry%3D400

Jamal brought DD out a huge slice of chocolate cake for her birthday. Pardon the hair in her eyes!
ry%3D400

If you ask DD her favorite meal of the trip, this was it. They treated her very grown up, the food was really good, the service was fantastic and we loved sitting overlooking downtown.

Yes! We have another Fulton's lover. I suggested to MickeyNicki and now her and Todd can't get enough of it. This is the first restaurant that DH ever took me to at Disney and we try to go at least every year (we wish they'd put it on the dining plan). I'm so glad you loved it--we've had the same outstanding service and food as you. I LOVE those Claws. :)

Yes! We have another Fulton's lover.

Absolutely! It was incredible. DH was entirely mad at us for going without him!!!

Nov 22, our last day :sad1:

I let DD have her pick of parks and she decided on Epcot. Her choice for lunch? I knew before she even said it. DD has 3 main food groups.....Chinese, seafood and Mexican. We had covered the Chinese and seafood, so I knew Mexico was in order. Cantina de San Angel

DD has the kids quesedilla, served with nachos and a bag of cheese covered carrots  Seriously, they slopped cheese all over the bag and didn't clean it off or get a new or anything. It was so sloppy we ended up tossing the carrots
ry%3D400

I had the burrito. It was decent, but I've had better Mexican food.
ry%3D400

We sat by the water and had a great view of the World Showcase
ry%3D400

There are much better counter services in Epcot. I wanted Sunshine Seasons and I guess I should have pressed the issue a little more with DD.

Our last WDW food. The bakery in France for a dessert

Really, can you go wrong with a place that serves food like this?
ry%3D400

DD, of course, picked the chocolate cake. It was ridiculously rich
ry%3D400

I went with something a little lighter, the apple turnover. It was flakey and buttery, but there wasn't a lot of apple filling.
